Nice experience with great taste and quality food.
Very good service
The atmosphere is way far from being sophisticated, but grilling food with friends became a great moment.
I had to wait for 10 minutes for my table even though we had a reservation, which is fine. The hostess allowed us to wait at the bar which was great! The only thing that wasn't great was that we had a Gyu-Kaku Fire coupon which allowed us happy hour prices all day. The bar tenders wouldn't let me use the happy hour at the bar because they wanted us to settle up with the bar before getting our table. They explained I would have to have 2 coupons (which is dumb as the coupon says all day...) A better move in this situation would have been to transfer the drinks to the table once we were seated so the coupon would cover the entire dinner experience. Hopefully someone in management will read this and consider a better solution to this kind of situation moving forward. Otherwise the experience was terrific and we will be coming back.
Always a great time. Food was superb. Staff is friendly
We were well taken care of and the food is delicious!!
Incredible from start to finish
i love gyu! my go to bbq spot:)
Great service, good food, fun experience.
This is a great place to eat at with friends or family. The food is so worth the price 😋
Service was amazing! They did a great job
this is a fun experience, surprisingly affordable. we enjoyed grilling our food.
Loved it great place
The idea of this restaurant is brilliant. We would have been very happy if it had not been for the pressure exerted by the waiters to order everything quickly because they were closing soon, around 9:30 p.m. Come on!... Nobody wants to go out to eat in a place where practically from the moment you sit at the table, they are rushing you. That is something the managers should take into account.
Such a fun Christmas dinner!!!
Great food, great service, it was a awesome experience!
Food was delicious and space was nice and clean. Staff was kind and helpful. The meal for two is a lot of food!
Excellent menu choices, we had several small plates that were all fantastic. Great lychee cocktail, and great value for money all around.
First time there and just in NYC for the weekend. Lots of fun and good food. S’mores are best way to end the meal.
Nice meal. Wagyu beef was delicious but pricy.
The staff here goes above and beyond to make sure our experience is always amazing!!! Food and drinks good too!
Our waitress Mia and everyone at the Times Square location were extremely helpful and friendly. We had a great time.
Fun experience for my daughters. We had more than enough food.
Been here so many times and it never fails to impress
The kitchen was very busy and the meat was bland. I often visit the location in Orlando. I had to ask the server a couple of times the salad came late and the noodles. We had to ask for the kimchi as well. The portion of the salad and the noodles was way smaller. Also the flavor was different. My next time in new york I will not visit this location
We were looking for a place for dinner at Times Square and this popped up. We were not disappointed at all. It was very good. Food and service are great. Would definitely recommend.
Great food! Would recommend for big groups and fun for kids.
We had a reservation but still had to wait a long time to get seated.; defeats the purpose of having a reservation. :( Have had better luck with other locations and will continue to visit the other locations and not the Times Square one.
We were seated shortly after our reservation time. Food came out quick. Attentive service. My kids love this place. We always enjoy coming to Gyu Kaku. This was our first time at the Times Square location.
The meat was very fatty and cut wasn't great. Tongue was not fresh. Very disappointed with quality of meat.
Our server Nutcha was a terrible server. The first time we called her to put an order, she noticed me calling her but she turned her back toward to us, ignored and kept chatting with her co-worker for a couple more minutes. Then finally she came over and she apologized.
I asked her if they have Korean pancakes because many Japanese BBQ restaurants have it. Then she lectured me that they are Japanese restaurant so they don’t have it.
While she was putting our order in the system, I asked her if I can put some more order. She was so annoyed and told us
“ Is that it? Because you are calling me too many times “
We were going to order more foods but decided not to, ate whatever we ordered and left and went to a different restaurant. We are in the restaurant business also and couldn’t believe that Gyukaku has an unprofessional, untrained and rude server like Nutcha.
We had a great time on our last visit! The food is great and the BBQ experience there is something different and fun to do with a group.
Very good ambient. Good food. Good service. Overall an outstanding experience. Definitely doing it again!!!
Gyu Kaku hasn't skipped a beat even after the pandemic. Service, attentiveness, friendliness, quality, quantity, and overall value are just as great if not better than I remember.
Great restaurant for folks who want to try yakiniku (Japanese take on Korean BBQ) and don't want to be intimidated by a menu. The meal sets are well priced and offer good range. Service is pleasant and efficient. Atmosphere is buzzy and exciting.
This was our first time trying this chain and we won’t return. Two of our meat selections were very tough to the point that some slices were inedible. Many of the slices of steak were very unevenly cut - more like chunks. Rice was barely warm.
Expect to cook own food on grill on center of table, holiday course is a good choice for first time visitors.
It took 30 minutes to be seated even with a reservation. Other than that the food was good and service was solid. A very good take on Japanese Yalu-niku style restaurant.
Please know you need reservations to eat here. The food was great and there was a lot of it. The waitress was nice and explained everything. They sat us down on time. It was a little dark so I wasn’t able to see how cooked the meat was at times but other than that it was a great experience.
