Gyu-Kaku - Toronto Ratings and Reviews
Great service! Highly recommend trying the basil chicken.
It was amazing
Minimum waiting time once you reserved table. The food is great, hope had second location in Toronto.
Great opportunity to socialize over quality menu items.
It was great.
If it offers beef with a4 or a5 grade, that will be fanatics. The current Kobe style one does not offer enough marbling.
The meal was excellent. When I reserved my table in advance, I had noted that it was for a special birthday occasion (50th) so I was hoping for a little acknowledgement of one member of our party celebrating a milestone bday. None was made. In fact, the "birthday boy" was billed for his dessert so there seemed to be no prior knowledge that this dinner was to celebrate a birthday. Despite that, we were pleased with the food, service, ambiance. They were attentive and helpful. At first, I was a little nervous that we would feel rushed by the wait staff, as the food was appearing rapidly one dish after another however once all the meat had arrived, no one pushed us to rush. We were done well before the 2 hour limit they had told us about upon arrival.
Always great food and friendly staff. Very conversational way to dine and catch up with friends
nice food comes with great price and coupons as well
We always enjoy eating here, but the service sometimes leaves something to be desired. It was hard to get the attention of the staff to order items, and certain items (such as the noodles) arrived after we finished eating. Other items (such as the kimchee) were completely forgotten.
Everything is tasty, but it can be frustrating if they are busy.
Always a great experience
Amazing place!!! Had the lunch set with 2 choices. Loved Kalbi chuck short rib and spicy pork, all very tasty. Would definitely come back again.
What an amazing place. If you want an ethnic dinner then you’ve found the right spot. Lots of great options between the sauces and the meats. There are pre-selected sauces for each meat and pre set dishes for you Aries of 2 all the way up to 6. The portions are very generous and I understand why it’s so hard to get reservations. Great deal for the dollar you spend especially for Toronto!
Servers are super nice and know what to recommend. Food is excellent.
I love this place - servers are always so personable and fun - music is eclectic - price is dec! Highly recommend :)
It's fun! Good food. We liked it. :)
it was pretty good for several friend hangout for lunch or dinner.
Food was OK and they do have combos for different amount of people so that you can choose the best fit for your group.
Service was excellent, friendly and prompt and most helpful for dealing with food sensitivities. Our waiter read through all ingredients and made recommendations on what to eat and not eat. Food was delicious. We definitely should have listened to the waiters suggestions of how much to order as we felt we all could have eaten more, but our only knock would be that we were a group of 7 and there was only one grill to cook off of. Even when they took away the metal ring on the perimeter to allow more heat, there was insufficient space for the amount of food. The vegetables ( which come in seasoned foil pouches) took so much room and subsequently a long time to cook. We were pressed for time with an after dinner show so we couldn't fully cook them in time and also couldn't add other things to the grill while they were cooking as there wasn't enough space. For this size of group, even if it was only 6 of us, two grills would be necessary ( especially since there is a 2 hour limit per seating). Would definitely go again, but not with so many people.
Great good! Best place for large groups. Cheap, delicious, definitely worth it!
By far one of my favorite places to eat at. It is fairly busy most of the time but the food is always amazing.
Such a disappointment. This place should not be called Gyukaku. They don have the quality or the service that I am used to see in other restaurants in BC, NY, Hawaii or Japan, needless to say. Meat way too thin or chewy if chunky. Forget the flavour or quality of the ingredients. Thank god for the Gyukaku standard sauce and dressings... Too many staff on the floor, too. Hope the owner would revisit the whole philosophy of good food service.
Love this place!!! Great food and service ! Highly recommended
cost is very reasonable, takes 1.5 hr for lunch… nice for people with flexible time
Overall, excellent food and service!!!
We always come back once a month, we're kind miss the food here especially the meat, the beef options are very tasty.
Lovely place, great staff/service but my ears are still ringing today (2 days later). Very noisy but worth the visit. Food was so fun and so much and so delicious.
Not a great choice for fish/vegetables. The meat eating tables seemed to cool just find but our food tool for ever even to warm let alone cook!
Great quality meat. You pay extra but you get what you pay for. Cheap beer too! Whole pitcher of 60oz Sapporo for $18 bucks! Yes please!
One of my kids favourite places to go! Makes a fun outing and the food is always awesome.
Good food and service was okay. Servers looked bored.
Great place for a friend's get together but it's a little noisy.
I went here to celebrate my birthday with my friends. The service was really great! They were all friendly and they would always check up on us if we need more water or if we need to change the grill. When the server brought us what we ordered, she would also tell us how long each side of the meat is expected to be cooked.
I love the atmosphere as well. It really had the Japanese feel to it, almost as if I was in Japan.
As for the food, it tasted absolutely amazing. I would've kept ordering for more if we weren't so full by the time we finished everything. I would definitely come back here again!
It has been my second time at Gyu-Kaku. This time was not as good as my first, mostly because the grill seemed to be heating the food way slower than what the server informed it should, even after changing the heat setting. Unfortunately, we noticed that too late and did not complain in person. Also, the server did not offer to change the grill in a timely manner (he only did when we were almost done and the grill was very dirty). Apart from those things, it was ok.
Awesome - as always.
It was a fun experience. We recommend it.
Fun to BBQ your own food. Good for groups and sharing food.
Good service along with excellent food. Super hour from 2-5 is especially worth it.
Really good beef.
Really good food for pretty cheap
Tetsu, who took care of our table, was great! Food arrived promptly after ordering so our hungry tummies didn't have to wait long. We left satisfied!
It was fab!!!!
