Food was fantastic and so was the service
Had a great meal with friends. Food and service are exceptionally customer service oriented. Service staff are easy going and kind. Highly recommended to other prospective.
Mon préféré à Toronto, j'y vais à chaque fois!!
Le riz Bipmap est délicieux et les viandes/légumes sont de super qualité!
Les serveurs/serveuses sont très soucieux de donner un bon service courtois et personnalisé!
Fabulous food. Great atmosphere. Some staff were amazing and friendly. Some not as friendly with a little bit of attitude. All in all fabulous food and would definitely return
Comida espectacular, el personal es muy atento, los calamares deliciosos y el New York y el Ribeye súper recomendable, pero lo mejor de todo son los noodles!!
It's very nice environment, you can talk and hear your friend(s)! Excellent, fresh food! Reasonable price! I recommend the place strongly!
Restaurant itself is nice, a little noisy but not terrible, grill gets nice and hot but the place is well AC'ed. The staff will even let you know the recommended cook times for each dish. However, our waiter seemed like he hated the job and was not very professional about it. That said we got our food, tasted great, and the rest of the staff was excellent.
Very nice restaurant!! Both foods and services are great!
I loved everything but they really rush you through the dinner even though we were there at 4:30.
This place never disappoints. It's been a regular lunch hangout for quite some time, but we've never been on a weekend AND IT WAS GREAT. Their "happy hour" menu offered exceptional options and fantastic taste, one pair ate for under $100 including drinks + taxes + tip. We will do this again in the near future!
Restaurant is clean and meat was delicious.
Just Rice was too hard and dry... other than that fair price and fun place for get together.
Food is good, great variation. Can grill or order premade dishes
Sapporo Beer is perfectly chilled and served in a chilled mug
Usually busy, so would recommend making reservations
My wife, son and I really enjoyed our dinner at Gyu- Kaku in Toronto. We were seated exactly at our reservation time. Drink and Happy Hour specials were going on all day. Our servers were prompt, friendly, and helped us order just the right amount of food. We had a great time grilling at the table. There are some vegetables, but basically you are there for meat. The vibe is exciting. It's a busy and hopping place. I highly recommend it!
The service is authentically energetic and helpful. There is nothing like sitting at a table with the barbecue in the middle and a ton of meat all around waiting to be cooked and devoured. Definitely a place to take friends and family to enjoy a special occasion. Our server was fantastic and kept our meal apace! A Great time. Be sure to download the Gyu-Kaku app and collect your points!!
Food was excellent! Will be back soon!
An enjoyable meal and experience, great for having a conversation over good food and not feeling rushed. Wait staff was attentive but inexperienced and not able to answer some basic questions. The veggie options (particularly broccoli ) did not impress us on the grill. But the meat selections, noodles - excellent.
The ventilation can be better. It seems little smokey and oily smells around the restaurant.
Overall the experience was good. In terms of customer service I found the Montreal location to be superior. They did not make us feel rushed by telling us there’s a two hour period. We came with a kid (6-yrs-old)so there’s no two hour eating experiences for us. The servers were more attentive in MTL. We didn’t have to hail them. However, it was bit too loud in Montreal (the music). A bit jarring at first. The music level at the Toronto location was much better. Food was good! The overall experience was good, close to excellent. I’ll definitely go back because overall, I love the place :).
My boyfriend and I took my parents for lunch on the day before Mother’s Day. The food was delicious and there was a lot of it! Our server was so nice and helpful with tips on cooking the different meats. My parents really had a fun time and enjoyed all the food. :)
Always a go-to spot for a quick dinner, a get-together, a dinner date
Very good service, food was fantastic specially the steak!
Amazing experience. The service was fantastic, we were accommodated for the portion of our party that was late. The menu is large with lots of options to choose from. We chose to do the dining for 4, which was more than enough food. We were all able to try everything that this option came with, some meats none of us have ever tried before. It was overall a great experience and I would highly recommend this restaurant.
We went to the restaurant at lunch hours. The foods are great, services are good, price is affordable, and very convenient location. I like this restaurant, and will come back again.
Excelente atención, servicio y calidad de los alimentos
This is one of my favorite restaurants in town. I was fortunate to be served by the wonderful Mie again, to whom I can talk in Japanese. The food was great as always and so was the service. I hope they always maintain this quality level that really reflects the so-called Japanese "omotenashi".
Food and serivces are great，definitely will come again with friends next time
Great food. Nice experience
our grill did not cook properly due to air flow issues, so the chicken we ordered at the beginning of seating were still not fully cooked through when our time is up! set course is mid-range in price, drinks are good, our server was very friendly.
Be sure to make a reservation and do not be late!! their walk in wait is usually more than 2 hours and they deduct time from your dining time!
Great place, food and atmosphere! Highly recommend booking a table in advance. Our waitress named Lisa is very friendly, efficient, gave us good advice on the menu and drinks. Definitively, I will come back.
Go to Gyubee instead please.
1. It was my boyfriend's birthday and when I made the reservation at 8:45pm because all of the slots are taken. When we got there we were told we had to order within 15 mins because their kitchen closes at 9pm and we had to leave at 10pm because they are closing(none of this info was communicated when I reserved online, when I asked the server why it wasn't communicated before hand the server replied: "I don't know what's online."). If it were any casual dinner, I wouldn't care. But it was a birthday celebration and I would have not choose this place if that was the case.
2.I wanted to bring some balloons to the restaurant to surprise my boyfriend, when I called and asked if I can leave the balloons with them 2hrs before my reservation, they said " We don't have any storage space." I understand if it's true, but when I got there, there were clearly a coat check and front reception where I could have left the balloons there (in a bag too), they had enough room.
3. The dipping sauces for the bbq were taken away from us 20mins after we started eating, they never brought it back to us.
4. When they gave us dessert the server said he'd show us how to eat the smore's the right way but all he did was place the cotton candy on the grill and didn't even show the process.
Overall, overpriced food and service was bad. I should have went to Gyubee instead of this place.
This is truly one of the few restaurants out there that does give exceptional customer service, who are extremely polite and actually care about the customers by remembering the smaller details about their orders.
The food and atmosphere are great - with a good price point if you go for lunch (which I went for) If you are looking for a more hyped up atmosphere, dinner may suit your style more and with more food options available but you definitely need to make a reservation in advance (most likely 2 days prior).
I would definitely go back and its because of the service received and the servers!
Very popular place. Make a reservation well in advance. I used Open Table for this one. However, the table was not ready in time. We had to wait 5-10 minutes. The waitress Alicia took care of us. She explained everything and made suggestions. I will return to this restaurant anytime.
Our Surver was Jane Jane could not have given my family and I better service !!! It was my daughter’s 17th birthday 🎂. We really enjoyed everything about our experience. The food was exceptionally delicious 😋. The restaurant was clean. We had reservations and were taking on time. I recommend anyone who love this type of food treat themselves here 😊💕
Wine list is extremely limited needs serious improvement
Good selection of different kinds of meat and seafood.
It was my first time eating at Guy-kaku and I would like to say everything was perfect. The food was really tasted and the staff were friendly and willing to help us. Best choice for friends get-together!
It was our third visit and the best one yet. That is mainly because we know what we like and we got it!
Always a good time with excellent food. Service was great too. Be sure to book.
Service was quick and polite, with dishes being brought out swiftly and cleared promptly when emptied. The food was amazing! Grilling yourself is fun and very social, as you have time between cuts to chat.
