Gyu-Kaku - Toronto, ON (Downtown)
Traditionally called Yakiniku, this Japanese barbecue spot is known for their delicious, fresh (never frozen), high-quality meats!
Enjoy an ice cold beer as you grill your own meat. Happy Hours offer the best deals on food and drinks, so be sure to wind down and get the night started right with us.
At our son's request, for his birthday lunch, we traveled over 2 hours to eat at Japanese BBQ. A few little hiccups (forgotten drink, forgotten serviettes) but overall a wonderful experience. Satisfaction completed by the enthusiasm given to my son, for his birthday.
Decent service but the order of how food came out was a little weird. Overall it was a good experience
Definitely my favourite restaurant in the city. Would eat there everyday if I could!
Amazing staff! Overall great experience with quality of food and price was reasonable.
Table space is comparable small to accommodate a set dinner for 4 people. Quite noisy that you can't listen to the person across the table. Food and service is general OK.
Charged $2.5 for a small bowl of white rice which is supposed to be $1.95 . Food and service is generally acceptable.
Great value and service was excellent. We will be back!
First I ordered toro beef the meet is like someone leftover ,second Waiter Spill oil on my hand that is very hot and waitress didn’t do anything until I say is very hot i need cool water to cold down, third my table service i think she was very busy so i didn’t see her until I finished my food
I lived japan 10 years
I’m missing japan food
Good taste and good service
Delicious food and friendly attentive staff. Great experience and good value.
Price was great! Great service and even though I was the only non-Asian in the restaurant, I felt very welcome. Favorite franchise ever!
Waitress and food is always great, but the hostess not so much.
Extremely over priced. Very similar and over power marinations, everything taste very similar.
Quickly seated, staff was courteous, meal was great.
I come here once a month with my mom, and we love it. Always super yummy, servers are really nice, and it's really authentic! I've been to good yakiniku places in Japan and this place holds up.
Great meal. Group of 10. Good service. Lots of fun
We happened to arrive early for our reservation, and just in time for their happy hour menu! Delicious food, great service, overall a perfect time :) we left full and satisfied.
Great food! Please up your air conditioning in the summer. The hot grill competes with the heat outside.
I always like coming back here. It's a shame they had to change their hours of operation; makes it less flexible and makes it harder to get a table on the day of.
We love coming here! Not only is the food delicious and the service friendly, but with their rewards points system, we can’t help but keep coming back for more. :)
Vacation fun lunch!
Our server (Charles) was very friendly and courteous. As it was our first time there, he explained the menu and make some very good recommendations. There's a 2 hour time limit which was more than enough for a regular dinner outing. My friend and I ordered the Meat Lover combo. The portion sizes were sufficient for 2 female adults with regular appetites. The meat was fresh and the restaurant was no smoky at all. Remember to make the reservation way in advance!!
We went with my wife for the first time, and we really enjoyed the food.
Surprisingly for us, they have a 'happy hour' wuth cheaper food, which was really good.
Not a bad choice for a bbq meal. Decent choices. The bbq courses are good.
Good but not great. Cooking at the table was a cute novelty, but things get HOT pretty quickly in this place. Would not recommend in a Heat wave. Food is OK, similar to all you can eat sushi (but not sushi). I would recommend going on date night.
Amazing service and great quality ingredients, would definitely recommend the lamb sirloin and tenderloin for sure!
One of my favorite spots in the city to have dinner. Everything is always good, also my waitress Lisa was so good. I love this place!
Really enjoy the experience and all of the food.
Easy reso via Open Table for lunch, excellent service and delicious food makes for a great experience.
Great fried chicken!
Authentic chain from Japan, easy menu, good reproduction of experience you would get in Japan
Service was great!!!
I celebrated my birthday in gyu kaku vancouver it was really different here in toronto. No free cake. We were placed in the corner near toilet. Place looks dirty. Ambiance too dark cant take a good shot of the food we ate. Will never go back to this place again.
Gyu-Kaku is my favourite restaurant in Toronto, every-time I have been everything has tasted amazing and the staff have been friendly, accountable and efficient.
The only thing I would change is the sound level of the music can be obnoxious at times.
The dessert was missing.
food here is nice
Meat lovers’ paradise! Fresh meat and veggies served and sides are all good value for money.
It's a bit too noisy.
You may want to consider adding more types of sauces.
Had a great time service and food excellent Will be back music a little loud where we were sitting
Thanks Paul a
Nice place for a sit-in meal. Decent price and the meats are good.
