The Sukiyaki bibimbap has been missing the delicious garlic sauce for a while that hurts the fabulous taste Sukiyaki used to have, please bring it back

Best Japanese BBQ restaurant ever! Be sure to book in advance, as there is always a huge queue.

Good value over all for the food provided but the service could be much better. Further more the electric cooktop is mediocre at best a gas powered one or a stronger electric one would be preferred.

Did not honour app points when no notification of expiring points was sent. Removed the cheese wontons from the menu which was the reason we went to Nelson location. Will not be coming back.

As always, Gyu-Kaku is an authentic slice of Japan in Canada. The food is always delicious, it's fun to grill your own meat, and you always leave full and happy!

We usually have great service when we come here but this time our server was not around a lot so service was not very good. We had to call other servers to help with our order and no one offered to charge the grill as was flaming up several times. Hopefully this is a one time bad experience.

We got the $44 meat lovers. It comes with soup, salad, shrimp, beef and pork along with mushrooms and sticky rice. We were so hungry we ate everything. It used to come with dessert but they’ve changed there menu a bit. Stil great as always. What we like is can walk to it from our timeshare. We highly recommend this restaurant.

Always my favorite place. Okonomiyaki is not on the menu, but it’s so great here! Be sure to make a reservation a few days before. Table is yours for 2 hours,....it’s plenty of time! Excellent!

Enjoyable birthday meal for my friend. We were able to get order some items off the happy hour. It's great there is both combo or a la carte options on that menu. Friendly staff. It was good to be reminded about the 2 hour limit and asked if we wanted to wait for the whole party to arrive or to be seated first.

Gyu-Kaku was without a doubt one of the best dining experiences we have had in Vancouver. The overall service was great, and our server Alfrey was particularly helpful with cooking instructions as well as giving us some recommendations - the bacon wrapped scallops and pork belly were two favourites for us. I would highly recommend dining here!

The broccoli never seemed to cook. Maybe if it was pre-steamed first....and it was finished off at the table.

For a table of 7, 1 grill is just not enough. It would be better to have 1 grill for every 4. Trying to cook stuff for 7 just was difficult. You had to only steam the veg and there was no room for anything else.

You have the tables for 8 ( split into 2 groups of 4)....if you could have the dividers as removable that would be much better for 8 people.

One more...please note on your menu what is or is not gluten free. The waiter had to keep asking. It would be better for guests to know, especially when items come out with sauce on them (like the crunchy garlic topping).

It was so tasty though.

We had a 10 pm reservation but did not get seated until 1020, our table was right by the large sliding door window which made it very cold for this time of year. We were never offered a table away from the door.

Hi Rod, we are very sorry to hear that the seating was unsatisfactory during your visit and you needed to wait for your reserved time slot. We will definitely retrain our hosting staff to always ask if the seating is alright for the party and stay on top of the reserved seating table on time. We are very sorry about your dissatisfactory experience this time. Thank you for your honest feedback and we hope we could exceed your expectation on your next visit!

The food and services can be mixed in any place depending on who's working on the day you visit. It's even more mixed here because it depends on who you go with. Personally I'm too inattentive to man the grill here and generally burn all the meat. That said the service varies somewhat, the food is mostly prepared by you so you have no one but yourself to blame and it is quite expensive considering you're doing much of the work. It can be a fun experience for the right person, but to me it's more of a novelty than fine dining and I don't really enjoy it.
