   Made a reservation at 3:30pm was told when we got there the kitchen was closed bc there was no cooks. But we can order drinks only. Which is outrageous. Wherever I drink I would like to get something to eat as well

   One of the worst experiences I’ve ever had at a restaurant. Reservations was at 3:00PM we actually sat down at 2:55PM, they did not take our drink order until 3:39PM… when she dropped off the mimosas (around 3:50) we then placed our food order… did not get food until 4:47PM…. I really wanted to get up and walk out but I’m a good person… To top it off they said they ran out of champagne so the “bottomless” was over… but they still wanted us to pay full price… The server picked up on my energy because they went back and “found” more champagne… I’ll never go back here… Lots of workers walking around doing nothing with a house full of customers hungry and thirsty…

   Horrible experience. Was sat outside with ppl smoking and when asked to be moved I was met with someone saying no and not being helpful! I would never visit this establishment again. Waited until 6pm and still no food due to them being understaffed.

   We sat down at 11:00 am for brunch, one of the first people in the restaurant. We didn’t get our food until 12:45 pm. My food was cold by the time it got me. Service was good, our server was moving as fast as she could, gave us free mimosas to make up for the long wait.

   Brunch at HalfSmoke is definitely the vibe. Menu has great options and the food was absolutely delicious. The brunch specials are not to be ignored. Only downsides are table size & service. The tables are quite small and it felt like one was sitting at a kindergarten table. While our server was awesome, the level of attentiveness to our table was lackluster. Maybe it was because it was first service of the day. All in all, I will definitely dine at HalfSmoke again with no hesitation.

   We went to HalfSmoke for Mother’s Day and had a reservation for 10:30 am. We only saw one server working when we arrived, Chantal. She was taking orders, delivering food to tables and seating guests. A different server dropped off our containers of mimosas but no glasses to drink the mimosas. Someone from my table found someone and asked for glasses. The food was ok but the potatoes were a big disappointment. Everyone’s dish was lukewarm. The potatoes were not fully cooked. We asked for a replacement order of the potatoes and they were just as hard. Other servers arrived later. The manager, Paul, stopped by our table before we left. We praised Chantal but we’re disappointed in everything else. She could have used help with even Paul checking in people and seating earlier in the morning. The blueberry mimosa is not blue. What juice is being used for the blueberry mimosa? I’ve been to this location several times and have enjoyed the food and service. And of all days, things go wrong on Mother’s Day.

    Bottomless Happy Hour was awful. Food was slow to arrive, tiny portions, cold, inconsistent, and NOTHING like what's shown on the menu. Drinks were ok. Service was very slow and not a single time did food or drinks arrive for our group at the same time.

    It was good enough but not fantastic. The drinks were amazing! So if you just want a quick bite and a drink, this is the place for you. The waitresses are clearly overwhelmed but they are also AMAZING!

    The food was good, but the service and the cleanliness of the place was not good. Walking in I had to wait to be greeted, and I stood there long enough that my friend was able to park and walk back to the restaurant, we made a reservation online and watched a video of a previous fight at this restaurant before the hostess came to the front and got us seated. The place wasn't clean at all for a restaurant, the floors needed to swept and mopped, as my feet were sticking to the floor, and the tables didn't get cleaned quickly. There were many dirty tables as we were walking out of the restaurant and those people had left a while ago. I had the Briggs and Co and the Loaded Tater Tots and my friend had the Halfsmoke Lovers Hash - I also had a Peach Mimosa and my friend had one of the cocktails - no complaints with the food or drink. The waitress was okay - it took her awhile to get to us to take our order but our food and drinks came out fairly quickly, but after that we didn't see her much. Overall, I would recommend the food and I like the theme with the names of the dishes and them putting the bills in the movie boxes (albeit the boxes were dirty), and bottomless drinks seemed all day, but don't think I will be back due to the slow service and lack of cleanliness.

    Used to love halfsmoke. Don’t plan on coming back after this experience. Went for late night mimosas and didn’t have a great time. Hostesses and waitresses were nice. Employees cussing at each other and customers. Employees letting other customers be disruptive. Food was decent. Drinks were ok. You can find better elsewhere

    Service was slow. We ordered bottomless mimosas and over the span of one hour only got one pitcher even though it was empty. The bloody Mary was watered down, and our waitress never came around to give us water or napkins so we had to continuously ask other people walking by.

    Worst experience I have had in 7 years of living in DC. My wife and I never got our drinks in over an hour at the table, the server never came to the table from the start so we had to ask the hostess to get us a server after 20 minutes. Never stepping foot back in this place.

    couldn't hear our very quiet server over the extremely loud music and could barely make conversation without talking loudly to each other. we arrived before our two friends and had placed our drink orders when we first got there yet when our friends arrived and ordered their drinks 15 minutes later than us theirs came out first. food came out quick after placing our orders but it arrived ice cold, not sure how. the interior design is nice but not worth it

    After 30 minutes of being seated. We had to stop someone to ask who our waiter was . It took 47 minutes to receive water and place orders. Once order was received we were given food that we didn’t order because they was out of things. Such as home fries and turkey bacon. Overall experience could’ve been better. Food was okay. Not the experience I was hoping for. But Our waiter was very apologetic. Not sure if I’ll go back to this location maybe a different location. I visited the nw dc location .

    The food was so good, but everything else was so bad I wouldn't go back. We were seated at a table with light shining in our eyes and it wasn't until we were leaving that we noticed there were shades. The hostess should have pulled the shade for us. It was an hour wait for the food and it came out luke warm. The waiter was awful. We only got one round of drinks, he didn't check on our food or orders and we had to get him to get the check. It was also so loud it was hard to hear each other talk. The chef deserves a good GM.

    Took 15 minutes for us to be waited on. My wife grits came out before our appetizer and drinks. Took us 45 minutes our food after ordering it and we still didn’t receive our drinks. Plus it was very cold inside.

    Heating system wasn't present. It was cold. Almost everyone had their coats on. The water in the bathroom was cold (sink) and the hand air dryers didn't blow warm/hot air. We had to flag our server down a few times which impacted the service rating. The French toast we ordered was hard and cold, but the server did get it remade and it came out better the second time. The scrambled eggs were also cold; unpleasant experience. We had the pineapple mimosas, but it was more like pineapple juice with a splash of sparkling wine. I'm going to chalk it up to a bad day for Halfsmoke because I've been there before, and this wasn't my experience. I hope they get these things addressed quickly to enhance the customer experience. It was extra sucky because I had two people visiting from out of town, and this is where we decided to do brunch before they headed back to New York--didn't contribute to them having a good impression of DC.

    I specifically made a reservation for a table and upon arrival was placed at a couch where it was nearly impossible to eat, sit comfortably or hear the rest of my party at another couch. Wait staff did not make an effort to relocate our table, then service was extremely slow. Bottomless mimosas had black bits flowing around, and it took almost 25 mins for the staff to replace what we were given. Waitress was extremely absent and checked on our table once every 30 minutes or so. Food was decent. After all this, we received our check with 20% gratuity already added. The service and experience we received was not at all worthy of a 20% gratuity — 15% at max. No individual from my party or I will be coming back.

    Our waiter was SLOW. We had the bottomless mimosas but didn’t get our money worth because he wasn’t attentive & the pitchers were sent a lil over half full instead of full. The French toast was delicious, but the Mac & cheese wasn’t good at all. It tasted like someone was in the kitchen playing with seasonings and went extra hard with the garlic powder. The chairs are cheap, we both had to switch out chairs from the table next to us, & then we sat at the bar a little and one of the chairs were breaking.

    When I arrived my table wasn’t clean It was freezing cold in the restaurant! I saw mold on the ceiling around the air fixtures and clumps of old food and dust in the corners of the counter where the food is prepared! I can say the servers were medium attentive

    Food was great. Server took a while to place orders had to be called over multiple times. Took a food without asking what we wanted to drink. Asked for boxes and was walked by three times without receiving it. Got boxes and no bags. Had to ask hostess for bag. Was hair on my table asked for a manager. Had to ask another person before the manager came over. Manager was nice and discounted our bill but server brought over receipt without the vouchers to sign.

    I CAME GERE FOR VALENTINES DAY AND MY BARTENDER KEMYA WAS THE MOST AMAZING PERSON EVER! SHE GAVE ME A FEW OF THE SPECIALTY COCKTAILS TO TRY AND MADE ME A HUGE FAN!     I’ve been to halfsmoke before, the food is always great and it’s a nice vibe for brunch. This time not so much. We were sat outside, the space was covered and heated but it definitely felt like we weren’t a part of the restaurant because you have to go out a side door near the restroom to even get to the area. But all of that aside, they only had one server for the entire section which definitely emphasized the feeling of being an afterthought. The server was doing his best but there was a table of about ten people and then about six other tables with parties ranging in size from 2 to 6 or 8. It was just a lot for one person to handle. We had to wait almost an hour before we were even able to place an order. Very unfortunate experience this go round.

    Entree never came. Coffee was not refilled - walked to the CVS to get water & coffee and then came back. Horrible service. Quite possibly the worst dining experience I have ever had. Would add photos, but nothing came.

    I came to brunch with my lady on 2/5 and when we got there and got seated, the table was a little tight so we moved to the bar with ease. Bartender asked us to be patient because it was things were moving quickly. She eventually got us some waters while we decided on food. After waiting a little longer, we started our bottomless mimosas, which were pretty cool. We started ordering only to find out that they were out of French toast, the whole reason we were there for brunch. While disappointed, we stayed and found something else on the menu. To paint the picture, we arrived at the restaurant around 3:45 (with reservation), didn’t get food until after 5:00 and people that sat down after us were getting food. Already hangry, we finally get our food and my shrimp, sausage and grits are lukewarm. I ask them to just heat it up, they bring back a newly prepared dish but without any shrimp in it. It tasted decent so I pushed through and tried not to complain. All in all, not a horrible experience but definitely not a good one. Of everything, the wait was the hardest part to deal with. It’s been 4+ years since I’ve eaten here, probably be a little while before I return. I’d recommend an early brunch to a friend.

    Food was good with fair prices and the atmosphere was nice. The service was abysmal. For our party of 7, the first round of drinks came out at drastically different times (some of the drinks did not come until food was brought). Entrees were also brought at vastly different times (~15-20 minutes from first entree to last entree).
