I met a friend for a birthday dinner. She had the lobster roll & fries. I had the sea bass over vegetable (broccollini) quinoa salad with lobster sauce. I can’t attest to the lobster roll, since I didn’t taste it, although there were no complaints. I can say that my sea bass was FABULOUS! I ate every mouth-watering morsel! So, so good! Also, our server, Candace, was wonderful! Knowledgeable, friendly, everything you want in a server! The only downside was that it was a little warm with the windows open. Definitely worth going back again.

The oysters were outstanding, clearly the highlight. I had on the half-shell and oyster po-boy, both fantastic, as was the tartar sauce!! The crab cakes though were too heavy on the cilantro, and the ceviche was fairly flavorless.

I was there for brunch. Our server didn't follow-up in a timely manner on the food quality (and there were some issues) or even on refills. Everything else was great - and I'm sure I will be back soon.

Oysters, salads and key lime pie were all delicious. Very knowledgeable and friendly staff. Nice table at the front window. Wines were a bit overpriced, but the rest of the menu was a good value.

The restaurant was small and packed, so they sat us outside. I had made the reservations early in the week, so wasn’t expecting to get bumped to sitting outside on the sidewalk. Our server was wonderful But the food was just OK. Favorite thing was the oyster shooter! Not a fan of oysters but in sake with bloody Mary mix – delicious!

Fun place. Didn't really care that much for the scallops with chimichurri, but I think that's just a matter of taste. The griddled crab cake was great, and the key lime pie may just be the best ever. Good option for dinner before a show at the Folger.

I was really looking forward to Hank's given its reputation but have to say I was underwhelmed. Oysters were good, of course, but the mussels, despite a delicious sauce, had an off taste. Smoked trout dip was very good, but my daughter's fried clams failed to impress her. Nothing was bad...only average.

Delicious crab cakes: crisp and flavorful. We were visiting with old friends after many years, and, on a Sunday evening when the restaurant was not overly crowded, the staff made us perfectly comfortable taking up the table for three hours. It was a bit livelier/noisier than we'd want for conversation--at first--but then as the restaurant emptied, it quieted down. And the food--again--was delicious.

I had the filet mignon. Had absolutely no taste except a bitter burnt crust on the outside. There was a tasteless sauce on top. It was way too noisy and busy to even consider sending the food back. We waited long for service and feel we overpaid given the lack of quality. Very disappointing.

We started with the Hood Canal oysters—they were delicious. We then ate the Three Egg Omelet and the Hangtown Fried. Both were very flavorful. The omelet included potatoes which were quite good but too much to eat Only complaint: Bloody Mary was too peppery. We'll be back - soon.

Been to Hanks in Alexandria and this one is on par with it. The seafood platter is excellent albeit a little pricey but that's to be expected for the area. What really topped it off was the cocktail I chose and I'm not a big cocktail guy. My girlfriend also enjoyed the platter and we couldn't quite finish it between us! Excellent quality seafood and the lobsters were great

Bathrooms are not accessible. If the doors opened outward they would be accessible. This is an easy fix. Other than bigotry, ignorance is the only reason for this not being done. If this is fixed my review is 5 stars.

The fresh seafood is good. My friend's snapper looked overcooked but was nicely presented on a bed of broccolini and fresh carrots. My grilled scallops and shrimp on a bed of arugula were fine, but the dish would have benefited greatly by a more generous portion of seafood. The decor is modern and appealing and a nice switch from the norm on Capitol Hill. It's a convenient place to dine and better than most other options if you're going to the Folger and looking for a pre-theatre spot.

This place has excellent food--the best oysters and lobster roll I've found in DC. Unfortunately, at this location, the difference in seating location can mean the difference between a pleasant experience and an annoying one. The high-top tables across from the bar (where we sat) are a nightmare; the noise level is so loud that we had to yell just to hear each other. Not ideal for a date.

I don't say this lightly and have been going to upscale seafood across the country for over but Hanks is the best seafood restaurant inthe DC metro areas and among the best I've ever been to. The selection of oysters on the raw bar was both awesome anf fresh. Nice choice of cocktails innovative and expertly made. The side dishes are great and the fried oysters were prepared perfectly. My date's crab cakes were crisp, tender with the right hint of spice and we both were enamored with the tartar sauce. Made for a great night out.

All the Hank's Restaurants are unique but with their own feel and flavor. The half price oysters at happy hour are what keeps us coming back and Hank's on the hill has the a Sunday Happy Hour that lasts from 3-close so come hungry and enjoy. In addition to the oysters everything we've eaten there is awesome.

I like it, but I didn't love it. Maybe having grown up in New England makes me a little particular about seafood, but it didn't knock my socks off. I prefer lobster rolls with butter, instead of mayo. The lobster bisque, although it did have some nice pieces of lobster, was too much tomato flavoring. The Bloody Mary had a little too much seasoning for me. I like the spice and the bite of horseradish, but I don't love crunching on seasoning when I am sipping a drink. My date enjoyed the oysters a lot, which is why we went there.
