Harry's Bar

Another disappointment of a restaurant chain. Both service and food are below average standard against competitor's on a similar price point.

- no offer of cloakroom
- squeezed in a table of two next to fire exit door while clearly there's other bigger table which was available the whole time we were dining that could have been offered to us as there were no space to out out coats and belongings.
- the waiter use the fire exit to transport food to outdoor dinning guests means the smokes comes inside the dinning room every time they use the exit and it's cold.
- a restaurant doesn't have horseradish abd the waiters had no idea what it is.
- steak was ordered medium rare and it came well done.

I'd suggest nearby restaurants as there are many better options around the area that you can get basic service right.

Went to London for the day and couldn’t resist our fav restaurant. Service was awesome and the food was amazing!! Thank you again!!

I had heard a lot about Harry’s bar so it had a lot to live up to. It certainly did.... the staff were charming and attentive so service was spot on, the food was so delicious! The courgette fries!!!!!!!!!!! The atmosphere was charming, not too stuffy but a lovely place to spend some time eating/drinking/catching up with friends. I feel it will become a regular spot.

Very slow service! But a lovely meal and setting.

Food was tasteless, no seasoning, no effort to make a simple dish tasty.

Lovely meal, service was great, all the staff were great, especially our waitress who couldn't have done more to help us.

Really enjoyed my visit to Harry's Bar. Our waitress was friendly and interactive, while the food was pretty much faultless. Loved the Tortellini in particular, but the Chianti wine that accompanied the meal was also spot on. Tables were closely located but this didn't intrude too much. Service was very prompt and we didn't have to wait long for any of the courses. Would definitely go again.

Sorry we turned up late due to the inclement weather & thank you for accommodating us despite being almost 30 minutes late for our reservation.

Had to wait 25 minutes for our table. First course wonderful, main course not want we ordered, could do better myself.

Service was okay, unlike previous occasions where they have been very attentive. It may just have been a busy evening. As a night cal, we ordered espresso martinis, these were very disappointing. It’s unlikely we’ll order cocktails again in this venue, we’ll stick to wine in future!

Fabulous ambiance, food and service! One of my favourite places to eat!

We turned up early at 6.15 for a 7pm booking and asked if we could have our table early. We were easy about it and said happy to sit at bar. It seemed to cause them a great deal of consternation so I said don’t worry we’ll have a drink at the bar and wait until 7pm. They then said they could give us a table but we’d have to vacate it at 7.45, so I said no we’d rather wait and have the table at 7pm. They then found us a table. However, at 8.15 they then asked us to leave the table! As we’d not finished our drinks I refused. The food was good but this really made me cross and took the edge of our meal which was meant to be a celebration

I always enjoy visits here. We shared the zucchini frites and then both had pizzas... delicious and they went down well with the Sicilian red wine.

We live in St Albans and by the time you pay travel costs etc it becomes less good vfm

I wouldn’t recommend the James Street restaurant. The service isn’t great. I appreciate it gets busy but you can’t delay every single order including drinks.

Lovely decor, cozy restaurant with fun staff albeit rushed to take your order.

Went with some colleagues for breakfast and everything was perfect. Good to see Harry’s back on form.

Made a 3 days advance reservation, got to the restaurant and they told us that they are CLOSED since the morning.

They called to inform just 25 mins before reservation time, which by that time I was travelling underground tube with no phone signal and so did not resceived the call.

They did not even try to apologize properly...........no complimentary as well.....I was so disappointed with how careless they were.

Atmospheric ambiance of quiet sophistication away from the bustle of Oxford Street and the noisier restaurants around James Street and St Christophers Place. The waiters were very attentive and the service was excellent. We enjoyed the arancini and roasted vegetables before going on to a main of sea bass and a salad with burrata cheese. There were lots of choices and the food was tasty, with portions on the smaller side. Good choice of wine and a delicious espresso martini to end the evening. Thoroughly recommended - so nice to find somewhere where you can hear each other speaking.

Would definitely recommend to friends visiting London. Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful.

I was not informed that I am not allowed to bring a cake from an outside bakery for my birthday and I was informed only when I arrived at the restaurant. Except the fact that my family who travelled from another country for my birthday were dissapointed. I have finded very unkind for them not to let me light the candles in my birthday cake and eat it after. I don’t think I will go back to this restaurant after this treatment on my special day.

rushed us through our meal. Brought the bill over when we had not asked for it and wanted to order more drinks, then came over and asked for our cards when we weren’t ready to pay and then asked us to leave as they needed the table. I had made a booking and the Table was suppose to be for 2 hours, rushed out the door and just rude. Not worth it.

We had just finished our first course & then immediately we were given our mains, much to quick & gave us indigestion
