It was my first visit to Havana Restaurant. I enjoyed my vegetarian bowl immensely. It was extremely tasty. My family also enjoyed their choices including my 9 year old grandson.
The atmosphere was pleasant and laid back. Ideal for a Commercial Drive restaurant.
Such a great meal ... we enjoyed ourselves. Our waiter was friendly and efficient.
Very limited menu and the food was so so. Service was fine but menu not to my taste.
Service is very good. I didn't make a great choice so didn't much care for my food. My friend loved hers and I have had other food there that was very good. The ambience is nice so a good choice on the drive.
Amazing place, Very good services and definitely Excellent food
Food was good, once I had the right order.
Order was mixed up by the kitchen but server rectified things quickly and efficiently.
Service overall was excellent, despite the busy Sunday brunch crowd.
So good! Our server was amazing, asked her to pick a desert to surprise the birthday boy, she chose the tres leches cake and put candles in it. Soooo tasty! Good choice. Everything else was great as well.
Whenever I need a little staycation I whisk myself and some friends away to this charming Cuban haven on Commercial Drive. Also great events in their theatre here. Monday nights at 9pm $5 comedy show is FANTASTIC! Oh and lovely food and drinks as well. Not a sangria fan but this place may make me a believer.
lNice place to spend a casual evening before heading to a play at the Havana Theatre
Excellent place for brunch. The breakfast bowl was great tasting. Service was quick. Highly recommend this place
Enjoyed and great meal and plan to go again
Every item one the menu sounded delicious
Very disappointing. Less vegetarian options and menu is much more limited. Burger was poor quality and overdone. Cauliflower tacos has hardly any filling. Soft taco shells were commercial and awful. Will go to Mezcal instead.

Music was so loud during brunch it was difficult to carry on a conversation with people at the table.
We went there to catch happy hour and we ordered three dishes and we were all pleasantly full. The server was awesome and we enjoyed ourself!
Yummy food in a vibey setting. Good service, interesting menu and cool interior.
Our server was amazing and friendly!!!
The only reason to come here is for the patio which gets great sun in the evening and is fun for people watching on the drive. If you’re inside the music is deafening. Margarita was weak and the shrimp taco underwhelming. Meh.
Food was good, but the portion was a little small (I had the beef tacos). The tacos would have been better with more meat. I was still hungry after the meal. Our service was a little slow this time, it took way too long for our drink order to be taken.
Havana’s used to have the best sangrias in the city, but it appears as though the recipe has changed. While the sangria was decent, it wasn’t as good as in the past, and there was a lot less fruit in the pitcher than before. Previously, when we ordered a pitcher of sangria, we received a full pitcher and full glasses of sangria, now, you don’t receive the full glasses (not a major issue but it was nice to have). Also, their tropical sangria is no longer on the menu (it was incredible).
Overall, a decent experience, but not as good as in the past. I would go back again to see if this experience was a one off.
The service was efficient and the host was very friendly. It was my birthday brunch and they gave us a free drink. Will definitely go back there to try more food.
I took my son to Havana for his 30th birthday. I had made a reservation already but asked him where he would like to go on the Drive. He said "Havana." Good guess I say!
It was a lovely day and we took a table outdoors. Food was great and just the right quantity for both a Millenial and his dad. Service was excellent, very attentive but not interrupting conversation. We were able to have a long, easy conversation despite the expected street noise.
Various folks from the street came by to ask for money; that's expected on the Drive, part of the culture. They gave us cause to share our proposed solutions to a problem that belongs to all of us. God bless us all and give us the opportunity to bring these proposals into reality. No one should have to beg in a nation so rich as Canada. They don't in Havana, Cuba, where I have also lunched.
Always have a wonderful time at Havana. The serving staff are friendly, respectful and professional. The food is always amazing and full of flavour. Always enjoy my time and money spent here.
A go to restaurant for us, especially for brunch. Good food, good service.
If you don’t mind being interrupted three times before you are finished your food and drink then Havana’s the place to go. This is the second time we have gone there and both times we were interrupted leaving us with the distinct impression that we should hurry up and pay up. Turns out we were right- the first time the server said they were ending their shift and we can pay by machine or cash. Ditto the second time but without the admission. I might add we were having more than one drink each, plus food and on the second night it was only 930 and the restaurant was almost empty but the patio was still happening. Havana has a lot going for it- good cocktails, big portions and a fun vibe. Just chill out a take a lesson or two from our servers south of the border
Food was excellent and the show after dinner was great as well. However, the two multi-stall washrooms were labelled as "open to everyone", so I would warn women who are considering dining here that they will have their pants down while strange and possibly intoxicated men have the restaurant's permission to be on the other side of a barrier that doesn't extend from the floor to the ceiling. Not everyone is comfortable with this unusual washroom setup, and potential female diners should know about it so that they can decide for themselves whether the loss of dignity and privacy (not to mention the increased risk of camera-aided voyeurism) are worth it.
Diverse crowd, great atmosphere and the food was fantastic. Don't forget to check out the theater for a fun full evening.
Paella was way better before they changed it, now it was more rice than anything else, seems overpriced for what you get.
It was easy to make a reservation. The service was friendly with no feeling of urgency to order and all questions were answered with courtesy and humour. It was a great , relaxed Saturday vibe with delicious food. Washrooms were clean and GROOVY!
Really enjoyed Sunday brunch here. Sharp and friendly service, and beautifully presented and delicious food. Coffee could be a bit stronger, but just a minor point overall. Will be coming back to try out dinner.
Loved it even though I didn't love the food - the atmosphere was everything and the show at the end of the night (Ed Hill comedy) was awesome. Great experience!
We went with another couple for dinner and everything was great!
This is a very appealing, yet casual place to enjoy either a lunch or evening meal. The service is friendly and the food is very good. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone. We enjoyed appetizers as well as chicken curry and fried octopus as entrées. We finished off with a wonderful crème brûlée and a special Homemade cheesecake.
Positive experience overall. When we arrived around 6pm it was pretty busy but service was prompt and friendly.
Great atmosphere, very laid back and the decor of the venue was fantastic.
The menu was loaded with so many fascinating dishes which made it difficult to pick. I wanted it all! Turn around on ordering drinks and food was pretty quick as well and the food was presented beautifully.
We will be back!
I had brunch at Havana on Saturday with a few girlfriends and we really enjoyed the food. Service was fantastic and food was very good. I love the plantain chips!
Great food, I had the Croque Senora and my husband had the steak and eggs. We went with some friends and it was lovely, we all ordered different things and everyone enjoyed what they ordered.
Portions were very small considering the price, but lots of healthy options.
Enjoyed the unique menu and atmosphere at Havana. Our waiter was excellent and amiable. Actually all the staff was pleasant, the facility was clean and the food was piping hot. Good selection of hoppy drinks.
Great food, outstanding service. The noise level was great, easy to carry on a conversation even though the restaurant was quite full.
Brunch was really good! We booked the first available reservation, so restaurant was quiet when we walked in. Food was tasty, sangria was fabulous and our service was great.
Excellent brunch - lots of menu options. I had the gravlax salad with poached eggs. Everything was perfectly done. Definitely will return.
