We have enjoyed several lunches at Havana over the past few months. The food is always good, and pretty good value. Our last meal was lunchtime on Sunday. It was very busy. The kitchen was probably slammed so we did not get our appetizer before our mains. Our server came to tell us that it had just come up at the same time, and offered to cancel the appetizer order, which we did. As usual, it was very noisy inside, the overhead music was competing with people talking, and it was all bouncing off the high ceiling. So not conducive to any quiet discussion, if that’s what you are looking for. Good place for a group outing but be sure to reserve.

Good vibe, nice servers, good drinks, BLAND food. I didn’t expect such a lack of flavour from a Cuban restaurant. The fries were so overdone - it was like eating stale crispy unflavoured potatoes. The tacos were lacking flavour, and the burnt cheese wasn’t good.

The food was super tasty and the ambiance was perfect for my girlfriends birthday. The plantanes are to die for! The only thing lacking was the sometimes spotty service and the tacos had very little meat to them, particularly the fish taco. I would definetely come back here.

We were sat within 5 minutes of arriving, had made a reservation. The waitress was very knowledgeable and friendly. The food and drinks were phenomenal. Get the Cubano! Would love to sit in the back next time or on the patio :)

Server was inattentive. Gave us a chipped glass and then never replaced it. Didn't come back to the table so I couldn't drink water. It was very loud as well

Our meal was good. Not as hot as it could have been but our server Laura was phenomenal. What a treat to have someone with such a great attitude booking with us but not overly so that we felt she was intruding. That is for a great experience Laura!!

For my first time there, it was the perfect place for a girls night out! We made a reservation but were able to come in early. Great atmosphere, amazing food and delicious drinks. I am impressed with the service and the price is justified with how flavourful the dishes are.

We needed to sit outside for Covid protocol for vulnerable individuals and Havana provided us with a perfect place to enjoy our meal. We’re grateful. And - Our server made us feel VERY welcome! Oh! And they have amazing mocktails. Can’t find those everywhere. Thank you Havana for a wonderful evening.

Our waiter was very good. He also doubled as the bartender. We did have difficulty talking due to the amount of noise both from the street, we were inside, and the area around us. I think if we had been on the patio the street noise would have been less intrusive.

Unfortunately Havana, over the years, has resorted to pre-prepared dishes that need warming, not prepared from scratch (e.g. the Paella 😣). And don’t order more than 2 ‘for the table’ appetizers if you are only 2 people as the table cannot hold more than 2 and the kitchen doesn’t proactively stagger the plates. While they advertise wine by the bottle (and in BC we can take home the remainder of bottle (in the bottle)….they don’t actually sell wine by the bottle any longer…it’s wine from keg and into a carafe….so unable to take home the wine not drank. All in all, unfortunately disappointing on a few fronts….but still an ok place to eat and drink - recommended with some reservations / cautions.

It was so loud, everyone around us was yelling to be heard at their own table which meant that we couldn’t hear each other or the waiter. Everything else was great but really too bad about the extreme noise. I’ve been in loud restaurants before but this was like nightclub loud. I would go back to sit in the patio but not inside.

It was my bday and I jokingly asked our server if they did anything special for birthdays and she came out with the dessert we ordered with a candle and serenaded me with the HBD song and a great dance. Always a fun time at Havana!!

I had the Havana Bowl which was nice & green — but I would have liked a few more interesting things in it besides the few small pieces of avocado & the tiny pieces of what I think were squash. Another veggie? Some seeds or nuts for texture?

The service was wonderful, our server was attentive, cheerful and kind! We went during Happy Hour and highly enjoyed the tostones, the Cubano sandwich and most of all the plump mussels and very flavourful sauce from the Mussels Espana, wow:) Fabulous drink specials, and the triple caramel flan was the highlight of our experience, the butterscotch/chocolate bits on top of the creamy flan were something else. Hello, Havana!
