The service was really nice, but its definetively overpriced for what you eat, the First time we ordered the meat it came cold and a bit too overcooked, so we asked for a new one and they brought extra sides on the house and the meat. Overall the meat was ok, sides were better, but i expected the meat to be way better considering the price

5.15 booking for 2 on Sunday, the menu states they may run out of the Sunday roast after 5 but this is clearly not a May but a cut off. Surely it would be very simple to ask diners to chose if the would opt for the roast after 5 when booking.

Was really disappointed having had great experiences in the past here. Booked a table for 9.15pm which was later than I would have liked but nothing was available earlier. On arrival we were waved away from the reception desk on the ground floor by a member of staff who was on the phone. Went upstairs to the restaurant where we were told our table wasn’t ready and they would come and get us in the bar area. Found a seat in the busy bar area and we were ignored for over 20 mins by servers. Went to the bar twice to be told that someone would come to our seat to take a drinks order. Approached a waitress on the bar floor and she told us to go to the bar for drinks! Eventually we were seated by 9.45 but weren’t served our main courses until well after 10.30. Slow but pleasant service throughout. The restaurant was extremely noisy with a loud bass note the only audible music. It didn’t help that our table was immediately beside a server station so there was considerable traffic nearby. The food was just ok. We thought the steaks were very salty. Cocktails were good, though the red wine was just passable for the price. Overall it wasn’t a great experience for a special occasion. Hawksmoor previously was a special experience but I’m not sure I would go again next time I’m in London.

Very disappointed with the steak for such a renowned place. The filet was not a good cut, the ribeye had no eye nor cap, no mention of race of cow or provenance. It’s just another steakhouse now, nothing special. Shame. Service was great however.

Not impressed. Very poor service, indifferent staff, food took over an hour to arrive without any explanation whilst waiting, and when it finally did, it was cold. Even after complaining and being offered dessert, nobody came to take our order for almost half an hour. Very disappointed after all the hype about this restaurant, will not be returning, nor will our friends!

The food was incredible, we got steak and fish and a couple of starters and the taste was just something else. Service was good, very busy so expected a little bit of waiting which was understandable, but all in all, I'd recommend this place for special date nights or special catch ups!

The food was great. It was a Friday night and it felt a bit rushed. This isn't pizza express, we were paying £150+ pp and felt that 2 hours on the table is a little too short. The waiter was also keen to move us to the bar to get the table back but wanted us to "settle the bill" there. No doubt to receive his tip on the current bill. Overall the service was a bit of a let down on the evening.

We’ve been going to the various Hawksmoor locations for years, going all the way back to the opening of the original, and have never seen terrible service like this. 35 minutes for drinks to come; steaks were brought out too soon, went back and came out cold; repeated mixing of sparkling and still water on the table. Very surprising.

A shadow of its former self with average steaks and poor service. I booked a table on a Sunday evening for 7 people including 3 children aged 8 - 11. We were seated on a large booth in the centre of the art deco style restaurant, which was full and noisy, however the noise wasn’t an issue for us. The problems started when we ordered drinks - the wine came in good time but the 4 in our party that ordered soft drinks didn’t receive them until after the starters. The starters (pork belly, carpaccio and bone marrow) were good but all of the dishes were literally flung on the table by the servers. Each of our party ordered steaks for main - a mixture of rib eyes and fillets to be cooked either medium or medium rare. The first thing I noticed when the steaks arrived (having managed to dodge the flying plates) was the lack of crusting on the surface - an issue that was replicated on the underside. In addition, the steaks were either over or undercooked. We had a decent sample size having ordered 4 fillet steaks to be cooked medium which actually ranged from rare to medium well. The meat itself was ok but certainly didn’t have the wow factor I remember from Hawksmoor. The sides however were very good - we ordered the creamed spinach, mac and cheese, beef dripping fries and chips and some greens, which were all excellent. However, we didn’t go to Hawksmoor for side dishes - the steaks were a huge disappointment. Overall, it was a really poor experience. I can only imagine the restaurant has too many covers and/or not enough kitchen staff, while those working there that we came across were either very inexperienced or didn’t care. The biggest disappointment by far though was the steak. The owners may well be going for quantity over quality because it delivers them the highest return (who can blame them - I would probably do the same!) and it does appear to be working because the restaurant was full, however, based on our experience, it definitely shouldn’t be.

We arrived for Sunday lunch at 4.50pm . The menu said “we cannot guarantee Sunday lunch after 5pm” . First thing the server said was “there is no Sunday lunch left” . I replied but it say in the menu it’s guaranteed before 5pm. To which she said we don’t guarantee! What a play on words, I thought that if you can’t guarantee after 5pm then that implies you do before 5pm … obviously not! The steak was good when it finally arrived 40mins later. You also had pay for everything, £6 for chips, £4 for sauce. Service charges are also added onto the bill , so beware. Overall disappointing. I would expert better for the price paid.

There were too much noise, portion are small for the price that you pay. It is quite expensive for the food served, although meet was delicious. I don’t think I will come back to this one, maybe the other if are smaller and more quite.

Overall it was lovely but given the price of the Sunday roast it wasn’t anything special at all! The gravy was nice but lacked seasoning beef was very average. Potato’s not good enough. It wasn’t piping hot.

Came for the steak, it was disappointing. 300gm fillet. Overcooked on the outside, fine inside but a bit chewy. Way too salty. Staff were great. Dessert was great. Cheesecake.

Having booked this for our 10 year wedding anniversary a few months ago, we had been really looking forward to eating here. Having been sat under the air con, which was blowing quite hard we asked for the air con to be turned off. We were told other diners had requested the same. It is late November and freezing, not the middle of summer. We then moved as the air con was still on. Even though we moved tables, it was still freezing. I had to wear my coat to eat my meal. Other diners also had their coats on. When your diners have their coats on, while eating their meals, the manager should have turned the air con off. My food was cold almost instantly and my fingers were frozen. For this reason we did not stay for pudding. I was thoroughly disappointed.
