While the meals were ok they were not outstanding. As it was my birthday and I had checked it in the comments I found it a little odd that no one mentioned it. Anyone with a big appetite would not have had enough food. So all in all a little disappointing
This restaurant was recommended by our daughter for our dinner out while visiting, not only glad for the recommendation but also for the suggestion of reservations. Our table wasn’t ready when we got there, no problem- some wine at the bar was great and table was ready just as the appetizers were.
Loved the fish and my husband had chicken that was also delicious. No room for dessert but that was fine. Would definitely be a do again when visiting Saskatoon.
Quaint atmosphere, excellent authentic Saskatchewan food! The only critique - the benches at the back are quite hard - uncomfortable for a long meal. All else spot on.
Food is great, servers should be knowledgeable with respect to specials and understanding of the drink menu that was lacking. Overall atmosphere is nice.
Exceptional food. The flavours !,ohh the flavours !!!
We love the service and the food at Hearth. I had the polenta last visit and the steelhead trout this time and both were delicious. I would also recommend the rhubarb Saskatoon berry pie!
Great food and drink with a focus on locally supplied ingredients. Beer selection is very good again local breweries.
We tried 4 different appetizers rather then a meal and they were all amazing!
Great place, Sarah the server was great. Food was tasty...
Our family’s go-to place for a meal out. There are good options for vegetarians and the service and atmosphere are excellent. We appreciate the focus on seasonal, local ingredients.
Hearth is a small, quaint restaurant in Saskatoon. One of our hidden foodie treasures and best kept secrets. Excellent and knowledgeable staff and the local menu is delectable. The charcuterie board is a must. The creamy tomato pasta was perfectly prepared, al dente, like it should be! The selection of wines was unique, tasteful and accessible. I can't wait to return.
The staff are amazing all food dishes were excellent I would suggest not doing the steak it’s my least favourite it’s a very warm place
From service to food to seating hearth was perfect, great portion sizes great taste and our waitress was nothing short of fantastic. Definitely going back
Our server, Kelly, was awesome - very knowledgeable, friendly, attended our table promptly to serve and clear. The pike appetizer was a definite must try and their homemade sausage in the charcuterie board was very tasty! Penne special pasta was delicious; steak was a little tough (striploin); chicken "ceaser" was okay (dressing on the greens delicious!!!). The atmosphere was a hit for our group in celebration of a birthday. Look forward to trying other items on their menu the next time we visit.
That was my first visit to Hearth with friends that go regularly and now I see why. Awesome meal.. love the ambience.. staff are very attentive. Thoroughly enjoyed. I’ll be back.
Wonderful after church brunch. Unique and flavourful food with absolutely perfect poached eggs
I’ve visited Hearth a number of times. The food is always unique, with complex flavour profiles and creative presentation. Above all it is delicious! The staff are friendly, welcoming and professional. It is one of my absolute favourite restaurants and I often recommend it to others.
We very much enjoyed our experience at Hearth! The food was delicious and the atmosphere was great! Will definitely go again.
With tip and a 6 oz. wine, dinner for 3 was $150. So a bit pricey.
We came to Hearth for the first time to celebrate a first year wedding anniversary. I’m so glad that we did! The service was perfect! Even though we seemed to have many questions our server was patient and made great suggestions. The food was the highlight. We all had something different and each dish was unique. The swordfish was my favourite for its interesting tastes.
Always great at Hearth! Warm and inviting staff do a wonderful job of presenting a thoughtful and skillfully prepared menu. The pike conserva is a rare treat (pun intended) and the mushroom appetizer is a small piece of heaven. So much could be said about Hearth. I always leave feeling truly taken care of. Stop what you’re doing and go there now.
Birthday, also my first time on Saskatoon
Excellent food, atmosphere and service! Absolutely loved this little hem! Will definitely be back.
I had a reservation set for 6:30pm, arrived on time, but they didn't have a table. I was seated at close to 7:00pm. I ordered quickly, and while appetizers came out by around 7:40pm I didn't get my main until close to 8:10pm. I was in the restaurant for nearly an hour and a half before being served my main.
My partner said that the pork was delicious (the piece I tried was amazing). I was less enthused about my trout; the only thing that distinguished it from home-cooked was a white foam. If you enjoy the skin you'd probably be better off baking trout at home.
I came to this restaurant because I had heard it was mushroom themed, and the mushrooms appetizer was not at all what I expected. Four or five small chanterelles drowned in a cheese sauce. The mushrooms should have been a star item on the menu but was instead a simple appetizer where their flavour was drowned out by cheese.
It compares with the better restaurants we have eaten at in the country and internationally.
The best spot in Saskatoon! We love eating at Hearth and we think it's a wonderful example of local, thoughtful, and creative cuisine.
I have heard only great reviews of this restaurant. There were only 5 for dinner - three of us were celebrating birthdays -ages 60+! I made the reservation though Open Table - we were seated in a booth with a chair placed for the fifth person! Space was very tight and was not as comfortable as it could have been. Appetizers were great! Trout fantastic.
Excellent food and service, will definitely be returning
We were all very happy with everything about our experience at HEARTH.
The service was amazing, very attentive and accommodating .
Every single bite of food was delicious. We ordered only appies, all in the menu except one.
Love the simple decor
Love the noise as it means people are enjoying their experience.
Just one suggestion...a more extensive wine list
Keep on doing what you are doing.Don’t let things slip as happens in so many restaurants
Thank you for a wonderful evening
Everything was perfect. The product was high quality!
The pasta was amazing
I can’t get enough of this place, these drinks and this food!!!
Great wine list and kudos on the addition of Seedlip to round out the non-alcoholic cocktail menu. Nice touch!
Love everything from the combination of quality ingredients, excellently prepared and plated on what looks like Grandma’s mismatched China with drinks served In stunning glassware. Absolutely brilliant!
Food was good, but not a lot of personality when it came to the service. Given its location, not sure it was worth the Uber ride to and from. I think there are stronger options for the same price point
This was our first visit to Hearth but it sure won't be our last. From our entry to the restaurant where we were greeted by a friendly person who seated us promptly and made sure our coats and other gear were safely tucked away through a delicious meal ending with a decadent salty caramel unbaked cheesecake and delicious coffee served in delightful Royal Albert mugs, everything was marvellous. We started our meal with the Ploughman's platter which was delicious and generous for everyone to have a substantial serving. Unfortunately (for this review), we all ordered the Steelhead Trout. A nice portion of juicy trout with deliciously crispy skin topped matchstick potatoes, morels and al dente peas and herbs. When it came time for dessert, we agreed to just have coffee. But an entry on the dessert menu convinced us to change our mind - hazelnut bavarois. The word decadent hardly describes it. It was a light unbaked cheesecake topped with caramel and large grains of salt served in a delicate stemmed glass dish. The service was nicely paced and our server was friendly and knowledgeable about the items on the menu. Even though it was a tad noisy, we agreed that wouldn't deter us from returning for more of this wonderful food.
Everything we had was so good! We plan to return soon.
Booked this restaurant after reading about it in En Route. Everything was excellent. We will definitely go again.
One meal was great one was good Service was very good tables too close together quite noisy
Original menu -- local sourced and highly executed. So good!
The food was good. Love the fact that they source locally when possible. Had the heirloom tomato appetizer which was awesome. I had the cold smoked pork chop which was very flavourful but also strong smoke flavour which I liked. Did get very noisy when the restaurant was full. I will go back.
Absolutely would recommend Hearth Restaurant. Fantastic food, beautiful blend of flavors! Our server was extremely attentive, kind, and prompt. Loved the atmosphere, lighting was nice, decor simple and unique.
