    Sandwiches were dry, less small cakes. Not up to standard I had previously experienced three weeks prior. Last time as it was a special friend’s birthday treat, staff bought out a tray with Happy Birthday, two strawberries and two candles lit which made it extra special. I rebooked this again as thought the same would happen as it was another friends special birthday, hence the reason for rebooking. The venue was not busy. I did mention to waiter about the lack of small cakes, he said they had changed what they give out when he spoke to the manager. He did offer to give a discount on the drinks we purchased but that is not what I wanted, I would of liked to have received the same treatment as I had received previously, hence that was the reason for rebooking. I gave the venue top marks but it’s sad on a return visit it had to go to the bottom of the ratings. As we were leaving and paying for drinks I showed the waiter the photo I took of the previous friend birthday treat, all he said was should of let them know, hence I put it on the booking form, also mentioned it at the table, waiter just said sorry lack of communication. Unlikely I would return again, which is a real pity as it was so lovely on my first visit.

    Booked a table for 11:30am, arrived and was sat down in a few minutes. A table of 2 came in about 5 minutes after us and their order was taken - no big deal really except when we flagged the waiter down to place our order, we were told we'd have to wait until 12pm for our order even to be taken, not even drinks. I'm not sure why, presumably the kitchen was backed up although there was only a handful of tables sitting at this point. Eventually our order was taken but things took a very long time and the order was incorrect.

    Had an afternoon tea for my friend 75th birthday and the staff bought out tray with Happy Birthday, 2 milk chocolate strawberry with 2 candles. That was an unexpected extra, thoroughly enjoyed, especially the speciality iced drinks. Will be back

    Came here over Xmas for afternoon tea was fantastic, however our second visit was so different. Turned up 10 mins before our booking doors was locked (meant to have opens hour ago) had to ring the place to be let in. Afternoon tea felt like it had been made prior to turning up an left in the fridge meaning the sandwiches was dry and scones cold where as the first time it was all made fresh with warm scones. Afternoon tea came without milk and plates for us to put our food on. Only one person serving doing his best struggling to cope with the amount of people there, more staff needs to put on at weekends. Overall a poor second visit not sure if I will return again as a result.

    The place is lovely. Although on the night there wasn’t many staff we were well looked after. There is a wide choice of desserts so it’s difficult to choose what to have! The waffles are huge in comparison to the quoffles - I think they should be a similar size to each other. The quoffles taste great. We had a lovely evening.
