   The service here is outstanding and the quality of the food is spectacular. I rated it a 4/5 because a few things changed on the menu recently that I didn’t love as much as I had prior to the changes, but still delicious.

   This was a super fun, memorable experience!! They had a great catalogue of songs and delicious sushi and drinks! The ambience in the private karaoke room was incredible, as well. Highly recommend!

   Our intro to Hello Sunshine was anything but Sunny. We arrived just before 4pm with a reservation. The restaurant was listed as pet friendly, so we wanted to let them know we had our dog so would be on the patio but had reserved an inside table. My daughter opened the door and went inside while I waited outside with her Dobi. After being looked at hostily for several minutes without a greeting a very rude woman loudly yelled how did you get in… did you climb in the window. To which my daughter politely said umm the door- at which the staff member with venom replied (rudely)WE ARE NOT OPEN for another 7 mins . Okay so lock the door, can you answer a simple question… she was beyond rude. We were left shaking our heads wondering what we were in for snd was the sushi really going to be worth it. Our server, a man originally from Liverpool UK with a beautiful 10 month old puppy was fabulous and the other staff were very friendly and great servers. Perfect balance of responding but not hovering. The watermelon sake cocktails were great. We stayed, we were hungry and craving sushi and I hope this woman was just having a bad day… I wish her some sunshine in her life… or maybe a watermelon cocktail… I think the whole thing just shocked us. We did not let one persons bad day ruin ours (sincerely hope it was just a bad moment, can’t imagine running into her when it’s busy 🫣🙄).

    Had a wonderful dinner during happy hour time where select sushi rolls were half off and ramen was at a great price. Friendly service and food was served fast. Delicious chicken ramen and fresh sushi. I highly recommend the Matcha Colada cocktail, it tasted creamy and refreshing. Big plus for the funky, modern and zen wood cabin ambience ! Will be back again when I visit Banff :)

    Went to enjoy the Happy Hour menu, I was a bit disappointed to find out that the California Roll was not part of the Happy Hour menu anymore when it said otherwise online (the server did not want to honour what was displayed on Hello Sunshine’s website unfortunately). Sushis were good but a bit salty. Food came out quickly and we never ran out of water.

    It was my daughter's birthday, but today's server was unfriendly and disappointing. There weren't many customers and it didn't look busy, but... . The other staff were very friendly and did a great job. thank you!

    We wanted to try something different while in Banff (not the usual steak/ribs/etc). We love Japanese food so we decided to give it a try since we read amazing reviews about it. We were not disappointed and even exceeded our expectations. The food, the service, the aesthetics were all great. I highly recommend it especially trying their happy hour. The only thing was that I was looking forward to trying their Matcha Colada which was also part of their happy hour but we were informed that it wasn’t available that day. So we had to try their Miso Espresso Martini instead and it was really good! Overall, we loved it and it will be one of our go-to’s now whenever we visit Banff :)

    This is my second time! lf l had to compare - service went down by 50% from November when l was there to now April. The sushi kept falling apart so not sure if they changed chefs. But on the positive side when food was orders it came really quick even though it was super busy. lt is on the super busy side but seems the food quality is going down.

    Loved our first visit a few months ago! However... Found that there was an inconsistency with the quality of the rice. Some items came quite mushy and some with more perfect consistency. Had a roll with very mushy tuna on top. Not OK.

    Super nice layout, very cool vibe. The service was super fast and food came just as fast. Meal was amazing, my partner and I each got a roll and ramen and were very happy with r decision. Only thing that I didn’t love was that we were seated around an indoor fire pit and it was quite hot.
