Whether it's enjoying the sun on our 3 level patio (heated or cooled), catching the game in our Shotover bar or entertaining dinner guests in our dining room - we have you covered!
With Live Music on Fridays and weekly Events such as Themed Trivias, Hemingway's is an ideal destination 7 days a week.
loved the airy patio seating with easy views to game on tv. $5 mimosas, caesars, and bloody mary’s can’t be beat!
Dont reccomend. Bad service and food. Maybe it was the day or maybe try other restaurants in the area?
Made our reservations with friends. We have been going there for decades and as always the food is nicely presented and the value is good. A mixture of ages frequent this place. Our friends give it a thumbs up.
Great hostess' and servers. Excellent food and great environment!
Food was great, and it was a perfect place for a Summer Date Night! the lamb burger was fantastic, calamari just right and the HFC was crispy & tender.
We were there for lunch on Saturday. The place is very nice, the atmosphere is relaxed, and the ambiance is very pleasant. Next time we will sit at the patio, weather permitting.
Great spot in Yorkville - patio tends to get pretty packed when the weather is good but servers are accommodating and attentive. Never been disappointed by the food or drinks and always had great service
Very relaxed atmosphere. Good service. I had a salad that was very tasty.
Been going to Hemingways since 1999 - great food, good beer selection and just an overall awesome place to hang out. Understated for Yorkville, which is a selling point!
This was my first time at Hemmingways and it was amazing the staff were so kind and the atmosphere was wonderful, I would 100% come back again and i would definitely recommend this place to my friends. The food was amazing and was brought out quickly which is rare in some places (A+). And the prices for everything were very reasonable. Overall I had an amazing time!! Thank you Hemingways for being wonderful!
Disappointed by the fish taco. Wrapped in a fajita wrap, fish undercooked
The good food, location, and service makes Hemingways ideal for a cozy lunch with friends and colleagues.
A friend and I went to Hemingway’s for brunch. The food was good and the staff were friendly. Service was fairly quick.
Service was good, the only small problem was there was so much tables set out waiters were bumping into my chair everytime they had to attend to the other tables. I felt cramped in
The place was packed and it was so noisy I couldn’t hear myself think. In summer with the roof open it should be better.
It was fine - food was good, price was reasonable and service was very good. Typical road house food, and fine for a get together with friends. Was very convenient after a film. We had a nice time.
Excellent fried chicken. As long as you're ok with a pound atmosphere it's a good place for pub style food.
Good food at a good price, with nice and efficient service. Perfect for a quick or long lunch with friends.
Service a little bit slow but other than that a cool spot
Went to Hemingway's for a hockey game. It was promoted to have the game playing with the volume on. The volume kept getting turned off or so low to a point where you couldn't hear anything. It turns out that a group of people did not want the sound on. The manager did a poor job de-escalating the situation and it was frustrating and disappointing that one table could dictate and change the plans that the restaurant publicly announced.
Service otherwise from the servers were good though. It LOOKED like they were understaffed, but were still timely with taking orders and bringing drinks.
What a great spot for casual eats and good energy in the middle of Yorkville. The heated rooftop patio is such a win, and our server was one of the friendliest people I've ever met. Service was extremely fast and portions were generous. I would say that my famous HFC (Hemingway's fried chicken) was a touch overdone, but the meat was still juicy. Their vegetarian fajitas (came recommended) were plentiful and loaded with amazing sauteed vegetables.
Overall, great find and we would love to come back again.
Good food, very good value, service was fairly quick. Fun atmosphere, louder ambience
Food is amazing, service outstanding (thanks Vicky!) one of my most favourite places!
The service is very good but the food isn't. I ordered a steak which was tough and the vegetables served with it needed to be in the steamer for another few minutes.
Because the main floor dining room was being used for some goofy trivia contest, we were seated on what is a rooftop outdoor patio in summer that has a vinyl roof over it in the winter. The electric heaters were not adequate to keep the room at a comfortably warm level on a consistent basis. We complained several times to our server who said she told the manager but nothing was done. As soon as we ate, we went elsewhere for a drink.
Worst service I have experienced in a long time. Impossible to track down the server, unable to order additional drinks in an appropriate amount of time. Drinks came out at different times for different people at the table. Food came out with sides that weren’t ordered (if there is an option, guests should be asked what they prefer). When food was sent back for this reason, the chef (?) Or other server who brought out the replaced meal was just plain rude. I’ve been coming here for 15 years and this was my one and only bad experience yet I have no interest in returning. Hire new staff.
Service was great. She knew her stuff and was very friendly.
Could put some healthier options on the menu. But it is what it is.
Great place to come for food, ambiance and service. My only disappointment was the fish in the order of fish and chips I had. Old, greasy batter and little fish. But overall food was very good. Will definitely come again on my next visit to Toronto.
The service was outstanding (our server was Kevin). Food was delicious and the ambiance excellent. Will come back for sure.
Great breakfast, rugby game and value!
Hemingway’s was a cheap and cheerful way to spend Valentines Day. We were looking for somewhere close to the theatre we were going to and didn’t want to spend a ton of money. Hemingway’s didn’t disappoint, the food was great, the wine was delicious and the service was excellent.
Very mediocre experience. Main dining room was closed for an event, so was seated upstairs. Terrible atmosphere with plastic patio furniture. Host sat our party of two at a tiny table when all other twos were at four tops. We were moved to the empty table next to use only when it was obvious our dinners wouldn’t fit on the table.
Server was nice, but completely unhelpful when choosing beers. Food was almost institutional in presentation. Would not go back
Good atmosphere, nice and cozy.
There was 4 of us, we each had a cherry-lime whiskey sour, which were very delicious. We also split a pitcher of premium sangria, which wasn't the best sangria I've had, but still had an ok taste.
We shared an order of nachos, a plate of honey garlic and medium wings, all of which had great flavor, especially the medium wings. Our server was great, made the experience fun. Overall happy with the experience, would recommend trying it out
The service was terrible. The waiter ignored us for an hour so we ended up leaving to go to another restaurant.
It was a nice meal
Another epic Australia Day at Hemingway’s! Thank you to the team for helping us celebrate our day away from home!
We always have a wonderful time at Hemingways . The service is right on and the food is great.
Freezing. Absolutely freezing. Then hot. Then freezing again.
The place just seems less compared to what it was. And less compared to newer Yorkville offerings.
Kinda stuck in a rut, it seems. Better options right nearby.
Reunion of old friends who used to work across the street in the 1990s. Hemingway’s was our go to place!
We went for Christmas dinner two years ago and it was really lovely, we were sitting downstairs and there was a cozy vibe. This time we went, it was super busy (we heard more than 430 reservations) and they sat us upstairs. It is a covered patio, and our table was beside the window. It was so freezing we all wore our winter coats. It took a long time to get the food, and we were so cold we ordered the dessert to take away. Don't sit people upstairs by the window: it is too cold! Would not go back for another Christmas dinner.
