I chose Hendricks Resto-Lounge because the location was convenient and the pictures seemed to look like a nice place to get together with a friend who I haven't seen in a while so I had wanted somewhere where we could talk and not worry about the music being too loud and Hendricks' was great for that. My friend had the Reuben Panini, it looked and tasted fine with her, the slaw was "unusual" as it was mainly carrots and some raisins. I had the Seared Salmon Bibimbap, I guess a play on Korean Bibimbap which did not step up to the plate. The salmon was dry (overcooked) and Gochujang was the only thing that saved the dish, the daikon was blanched, the mushrooms were bland, the egg was a bit over done so I didn't quite get the runny yolk to fold in with the undercooked jasmine rice and Gochujang. Should have gone with my first instinct and had the Warm Chicken Kale Salad instead.
Went on a Friday and service was quite slow. I wish they had put more people on the floor. Went there for their patio but it wasn’t available. That’s kinda of disappointing.
This is our first time at Hendricks. A great location if you are heading to The Centre, The Orpheum, QE. We had originally planned on having dinner, but when we saw the
appetizers, we changed our mind. We ordered five appetizers and were not disappointed. We had our favourites, the Cauliflower Pakoras, Spiced Goat Cheese Bings, Crispy Ahi Tuna Roll. All excellent! It is one of those menus that you want to try everything. A nice surprise, was the live music. Service was great, attentive. Cannot wait to go back.
Meat and cheese plate was great. Olive tampinade was whipped with cream cheese and tasted quite delicious!
Happy Hour prices were good but nothing really spectacular by the glass - which I suppose is par for the course in a Happy Hour menu.
It really fell apart with the beef carpaccio- probably one of the worst ones I’ve had. First it wasn’t served with any bread or crostini. The micro-greens seemed past their prime and there was no salt and little flavour otherwise - reminiscent of an old lunch.
Scallops were definitely better and cooked properly but again there was a lack of seasoning.
Came here for drinks on Friday night. Really enjoyed the live music! Drinks are pretty costly, but expected for hotel restaurant. Great service.
We ordered light as the menu has changed and didn’t seem as good as remembered. We had the pulled pork sliders which were bland, the meat tasted re-heated and was fatty and chunky, the slaw was tasteless .. awful.
Our waiter was lovely but we declined ordering much else.
Was empty, but the service and good was great. Happy hour was a bit on pricey side but was still goos
I came here for an anniversary after having come for a birthday dinner some months ago, i love that this spot isn't very busy and it's quiet enough to hear the other person.
The service has always been very friendly and my special requests were always done very well, the food has been tasty and quite well proportioned.
Great views as well and a great menu, highly suggest for a dinner with your significant other
Poor service.I had DOV menu.Taste was terrible. Will not go back.:(
Went for dineout dinner. The main course I got was beef short ribs, it was way too dry can't even swollow and it was very bland
Service was very slow and ruined the experience.
Bottle of wine was just placed on the table, unopened nor served to us.
Starters didn’t arrive at the same time, about 15mins gap and incorrect deserts orders sent to the table.
Took 40minutes to provide us with the correct bill.
Food was great though
Celebrated a friend's birthday at this newly renovated bar lounge restaurant. The server was friendly and the food was good. The beef short rib entree was nicely executed. Wine selection was decent.
We were here for dine out vancouver. The menu was good. We tried everything on the dineout menu becuase we both ordered the opposite item on the menu. The food was good except my short ribs were a bit dry and the service for us was extremely slow.
Had excellent service from our waiter who was fast, kind and friendly. I took my girlfriend here for a birthday dinner and the food was amazing.
we both left with a wonderful experience
Food much better than expected for hotel bar. Actually a lot of Paleo options. All food was far better than average as was service. Room is a bit noisy but it is really a bar. However, second floor overlooking street kind of nice and fun. Would recommend to anyone needing a meal in the area.
Poor ambience. Cold bare concrete walls Seating arrangements were uncomfortable
The decor in this place was gorgeous and the service was good but that was it. Brunch was underwhelming and our items were either cold or overcooked. Would go again, just not for brunch.
Food was fine but took an unexpectedly long time to get it. Went early - 5pm before any rush or large crowd. Only saw one server and I guess they only have one chef considering how long it took! Would be in no rush to go back.
Food was great, the service was courteous just very slow.
Good selection of food with different price
ranges. The ice berg salad was excellent!
Food was very poor, some was cold and some tasteless, will not be returning!
We were going to stay for dinner but unfortunately were disappointed with 2/3s of our initial food and drink and didn't think it was worth the cost to stay. This is a nice looking bar and was convenient to BC place where we had an event later. The happy hour food choices were limited. We choose an appetizer off the small plates and it arrived cold. This was replaced by an intended hot version, so that was good in terms of service, not a great dish but ok, as it turned out. We ordered 2 cocktails-- one was very good-- the Vancouver Cocktail. The margarita looked interesting. The primary taste was smoke, though it was described as having spicy chai syrup in it. So it was strange. The host and waitstaff were very nice and welcoming. We were sorry to leave, as we intended to have dinner there, but didn't think we were going to get the quality we were seeking and what we were paying for. It's a nice location-- I hope that was an off night.
The breakfast oatmeal was very sticky and the $4.00 croissant was so small it look like it came from a Pillsberry frozen package.
Thank you so much Cesar for an unforgettable evening. He was very friendly and personable! My partner and I were celebrating our recent success in our business but one of us can't drink alcohol. Cesar was so thoughtful that he gave my partner a non-alcoholic sparkling to toss with. He also surprised us with a cheesecake with "congratulations" on it! Thank you so much for going above and beyond! Our day couldn't be more perfect.
The restaurant was overall good but I was disappointed in the portions. The quality of the food was good but the portions were very small.
We had a lovely casual dinner and glass of wine before the kd lang concert on wed evening. It was the perfect venue offering privacy, a lovely view, great food and a great service.
Most boring hotel restaurant I've ever been in. Would not go back
Excellent! Food was delicious and we shared our way through the menu. Service from Marion was stellar.
I really wanted to love this restaurant, the setting is very well done and the service was first rate, professional and attentive without being obtrusive. The food was good (although not great) but most disappointing to me was the price value ratio which was skewed to high prices versus "moderate" portions of good but not great food.
It wasn't bad but it wasn't amazing. Probs won't go back. Too many other (better) spots to choose from.
Far too expensive for the meals you get. Server was inexperienced and unprepared.
Very quirky and creative food. Service was excellent
Great live music. Loved the share plates and dessert.
Amazing service, food and ambiance. Looking forward to going back!
Fabulous breakfast with a beautiful view!
We were seated quickly but then there was a 6 minute wait for the server to ask for our drink orders. (Also some confusion as to who would be our server). We seemed to be a bother to her as it was 'last call' so by the time our whole party arrived it was too late to order any food (approx 11:50). Strange to be in the entertainment district and close your restaurant/lounge at midnight right after a major concert. They should be a bit more flexible.
Great food and excellent service ,
Love the live music
Service, food and atmosphere were great. Very pretty room with great view. The cocktails are great. Love like clockwork!
We had a great time here...there was live music which was great (it was a Friday night) the food was really yummy and the service was good...the decor is beautiful and even though there was live music you could still hear the conversation at the table so it wasn't too loud just perfect...great place before a show or game as it's close to BC Place and Rogers Arena...I would go back for brunch as the menu looked really yummy and different then the rest of the city...great find!
Service was good and food was rather tasty. But they charged for refills of ice tea. And when we asked for coffee with milk they charged $4 just for the little bit of milk to put in your coffee. Just a bit much. It is those small things that become big things. Big things that will keep us from returning, unfortunately. And we live two blocks away.
