Amazing Persian food. We had a meal for 4 that let us try a lot from the menu. The kabobs and rice were yummy but the stews were the standout- a pomegranate chicken dish was particularly amazing- unique and yummy. Good wine list although with covid and lower number of diners I’d recommend getting a bottle vs glass to ensure its fresh.
The chef came out to say hi and was very kind. Glad to support this local business and we will be back. Much more interesting and delicious food than we were expecting!

I took my friend there for lunch to celebrate the opening of her new medical practice. The music was lovely, and there were real roses on the table -- big and pink and flawless! The service was quiet, competent and friendly -- as always. We ordered the Sample Platter for Two because I'd been telling my friend about Herby for so long, and wanted her to be able to try ALL the wonderful things she'd heard about. It was delicious and it was beautiful; every plate was a work of art. It was bountiful, too! My friend took home a doggy-bag for her family, and they loved it, so this one meal made a happy time for many people!
The Covid precautions were excellent. Covid-tracing is set up right at the door; hand sanitizer is provided; everyone is masked; the airflow is good in this restaurant, and the seating is such that no one need be in too-close contact with anyone else. I cannot recommend this fine place too highly. Javad makes everything with love, and it shows.

The food was absolutely delicious and the service was impeccable. We were there on Sunday, March 15 (2 days before the closure of restaurants for the COVID-19 pandemic) and we had a wonderful time.

Delicious! We had fantastic and wonderful service. We were so glad to have dined here, we followed the servers recommendations, and they were all wonderful.

We enjoyed lunch-specials which are very good value and provide an excellent and economical introduction to highlights from the menu. We were new to Persian cuisine and were delighted with the complex and subtle flavours. The restaurant is nicely appointed and our server was charming and attentive. We look forward to the day when Herby can re-open for full service.

Food was delicious and portion size was more than adequate. Ambiance was pleasant and overall the noise level was fairly quiet and allowed for easy conversation. I highly recommend it.

Great authentic Persian food, slow service, nice staff.

Beautifully decorated restaurant; feels like an oasis inside. The dishes are tasty and served on beautiful Persian ceramics. The server was knowledgeable and friendly.

Cool little spot on the Danforth with good service and great food. Noise level was acceptable for a Saturday night and all the dishes we ordered came out at the correct temperature in a timely fashion. Wine list could be expanded but , what we had was very nice. Chef even came around to see how everyone were enjoying their meals. I would highly recommend this great little restaurant.

We would highly recommend this new gastronomic treat. The server was friendly and responsive and the food was excellent. We have always travelled downtown to find good Persian food; now we can walk to Herby and enjoy an authentic meal.

Herby gives a diner three essentials of a fully enjoyable restaurant outing. The decor is tasteful and encloses something a Boomer appreciates in any restaurant: a level of quietude that allows for a low level of decibels. The food is delicious and the menu offers a broad selection of Persian dishes, and ours was excellent. Third, the service was gracious, friendly, informative and welcoming. I would recommend Herby to anyone interested in trying a national cuisine with which they may not have tasted.

Excellent service and super yummy food. The pomegranate sauce in the beef stew was extraordinary.

Loved this restaurant. The service and food is outstanding and Chef Herby even came to check up on us and the other guests to see how they like their food. Love a local restaurant that can make you feel at home. Highly recommended for anyone who's familiar or not familiar with this type of food!

Friendly and quick service. Delicious food. We sat by the window and found it to be a bit cool but otherwise perfect dinner out with friends

The food was disappointing, and somewhat bland. We got two sharing platters between four of us and there was tons of food. The Ghormeh Sabzi was good, the fesenjoon was disappointing, and the gheymeh smelled like it had burned during cooking. The rice wasn’t quite right. The joojeh kabob was flavourless, but the koobideh was good. The dessert honey cake was quite nice. The service was good, but nothing to write home about. It was nice that the chef came out after dinner to greet each table.

A great experience! The service was amazing, our waiter was very nice and friendly. The food outstanding. The chef who is also the owner went personally to our table to ask us about our experience. I will recommend this restaurant to my friends. I'll be back soon.

Food was amazing but they ran out of a couple of standard Iranian dishes... I’ll still definitely go back!

Great place, tasty food, friendly staff. We really appreciated that they were open on Christmas Day. The owner/chef came to talk to us after our meal which was an awesome personal touch.

Service was lovely. Food was really good and i so happy there was vegetarian options. Will definitely be returning.
