    We had a fabulous lunch for five, sharing from the small plates selection. Every mouthful was a taste sensation. We didn’t need dessert but couldn’t resist and were rewarded. High quality & attention to detail from the friendly efficient staff is a given. Must return soon

    Service was scathing, hard to catch servers’ attention, they seem supercilious to their guests, and fellow diners in fact had to help call to the servers on our behalf. Food was very normal. Bland. Definitely not worthy of a positive review.

    Wonderful service by very friendly staff. They were exceptionally helpful with my booking. Food is great. Lovely venue to catch up with friends & family. Also great location to have lunch then visit an ACMI exhibition. A hidden jewel at Fed Square.

    We have dined here before and the food is consistently excellent as is the service. We can only afford to come here for a special occasion as it is a little pricey. We particularly like the kingfish entree and the papardelle duck ragu. The service is friendly and efficient.

    Greeted upon arrival, staff attentive and knowledgeable. When we told them we are seeing a show that night, they noted the time to ensure our food arrived in good time. Great selections of wine and reasonably priced as was the food. Food is a delicious modern twist on traditional Italian food. Terrific Melbourne dining experience without the pretence and price tag. Will definitely go back.

    Loved our lunch here. Food was superb and so was conversation, so it was difficult to divide attention between the two! Mushroom gnochetti was gorgeous. And cannot go past those chili carrots.

    Excellent service and food usually delicious just a little disappointing I hit something crunchy like dirt or sandlike when eating the Cavolo Nero which accompanied the Roast Chicken. Third occasion I’ve attended and will return.

    This is a very special find. The position at Federation Square is perfect. The staff and food are super and the food for its style and quality are very reasonably priced. It is one of my favourites.

    I have been to Hero quite a few times for lunch and dinner and really enjoy eating here - lovely food and very pleasant staff. My friends will also return after our most enjoyable lunch on Thursday.

    Delicious food and nice relaxed atmosphere. I felt the service was a little bit rushed. We were still having our arrival cocktail when the Entree and Mains were served. Didn’t get a chance to order wine to go with our meal.

    We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Hero. The service was excellent and the food was innovative and delicious. In terms of food, we ordered a starter, 2 smaller dishes, 1 side and a dessert and the two of us felt full by the end. The burrata was the standout - it looked beautiful and the textures and flavours were great. A close 2nd was the Vitello Tonnato. We look forward to our next visit so we can try some of the other dishes. Thanks to the team at Hero.
