An elegant and spacious restaurant inside the inn. Choices on menu are limited but nicely cook and tasty. You can see a great patio and vineyard with beautiful landscape from inside comfortably.

First, why 4 for Ambiance - flies. Really not anything the restaurant can control, this is farm country, but they were annoying. Otherwise, this was one of the best restaurant meals we have had. Our waiter, Emily, was probably new, but competent, and when she couldn't answer a question would say so and consult someone who could. Having had other waiters who make up answers, her attention to providing correct and complete answers was very much appreciated. We both had the soup, coconut and vegetable in a turkey stock, which sounded unusual enough to be worth a try. Outstanding, and we are still trying to figure out exactly what the seasonings were. For mains my wife had the schnitzel, and I the rouladen, to which I added a side of sauerkraut (which I though initially to be overpriced but on tasting it found it worth it). The both the schnitzel and rouladen were cooked to perfection, the spaetzle were almost certainly made in house and finished perfectly with just a tiny bit of pan frying, and the red cabbage was better than any I have had or made. Again I would dearly love to know just what gave it the subtle spice flavouring. And the sauerkraut, obviously made in house, and cooked to a perfect soft "crunchiness" with, again, a subtle flavour that I would love to reproduce. My wife chose the caramelized peaches and I the chocolate mousse for desserts, and both were visually very appealing, and tasted outstanding. Sadly, my wife was not able to have her usual decaf cappuccino (she is highly allergic to caffeine) as the restaurant's espresso machine could not handle decaf beans, (Thank you Emily for checking and the freshly brewed decaf coffee was much appreciated.) My regular cappuccino was excellent. We shared a bottle of the winery's Rucksack Riesling, quite different from usual Rieslings in nose and taste, but went well with our food, and we liked it enough to take home 3 bottles! Thank you Hessenland for an outstanding finish to an afternoon of theatre!

We were a party of 8 for lunch and wine tasting. We all enjoyed our meals. The burgers were fantastic, as was the Flatbread, tur chicken feature of.the day.and the beef Rouladen. Our server, Matthew, could not have been more pleasant or.accomodating. He was awesome! He knew we were on a schedule and he timed everything perfectly! Thank you Matthew!! Some of our party had never been there and some had. All of us agree that we will be back!

Food is excellent and is authentic German / Austrian with some Canadian twists. Desert was a pleasant surprise with crème brûlée and locally made sorbet. Restaurant has become popular and needs more trained staff….which can be hard to find these days.
