Hidden Gem Restaurant
We had a very good meal at the Hidden Gem. However, we were quite disappointed at the wine selection by the glass. One of us drinks only dry white and there was only a ‘blend’ offered. Ended up having a cocktail and no wine with dinner as it was not to my liking. As I drink mostly only wine it was a shame not to have a glass with dinner, especially with the delicious lobster and risotto. Also we felt the meal was being served too quickly and had to ask the waiter to ‘slow’ things down. Initially we were the only ones there and were dining quite early as we had another engagement. Based on the prices on the menu, dinner should have been more of an ‘experience’ and not over in an hour!!
found the hidden gem very disappointing on valentines day, took 40 min just to get our bottle of wine, which was warm not chilled, my wife was given a dead rose on her table, the staff seemed very rushed and not very happy, the food was horrible and way over priced, never will return again.
I took my wife to Hidden Gem for Valentine’s Day. I chose this restaurant because it received such high praise and reviews online. Boy where we disappointed!
Food was mearly OK. The portion sizes were laughable. I would consider going back but I can receive a much better meal for half the price somewhere else. The presentation of the food was quite nice.
Was a huge fan of the previous restaurant, so was curious if they would be able to keep the appeal. Was very impressed with the knowledge of the server, the quality of the food, and the over ambiance
Wonderful meal and lovely experience. Food was delicious!
The special prix fixe meal was an amazing deal and the food was fantastic! The wine pairing flight was well suited to the cuisine and all from local producers. Service was friendly and concerned with just the right amount of attention. This place earns its name it is a real gem!
Very good meal with attentive and skilled service! Nice menu selections. We would return.
My dining companion requested that her seafood be cooked through. It came out medium rare, as is fashionable now, and had to be sent back. A small hiccup in an otherwise perfect evening. Great food, great service.
The food was incredible! This really is a hidden gem.
The food was great and the service was even better!
Hidden gem is just that. Quiet little restaurant with fresh made meals.
Best Caesar salad we have ever had with just the right taste that will a peel to anyone.
Good size portions so you don't go home hungry .
We will be coming back soon.
The food and our server were top notch. A very pleasurable fine dining experience.
Went for a date night - amazing character home with gourmet selections that are reasonably priced. The ceasar cocktail was exceptional. Truly a hidden gem - the owner told us she can and does book for parties and will close the restaurant to the public for those...great venue!
The food was amazing. I loved the ambiance in the Victorian era house. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
This was one of the best dinners my wife and I have had in a while service was impeccable food was top notch. Used to be “Williams Inn” was good then is better now! The best fine dining in Kelowna
Amazing place, amazing service.
We went for our anniversary. Very romantic. Staff very friendly. It is expensive but worth it for the dining experience.
The food was outstanding - especially the rib eye steak, the atmosphere was quiet and elegant and the service was impeccable. One of the best restaurants we have ever been to.
This restaurant has very good food. They can accommodate you if you have allergies as they make their food from scratch. As I have a onion allergy this is very helpful.
We went for a birthday for our guest and they brought a lovely dessert to be shared by our table.
After waiting for several minutes to be seated we had to basically go into the kitchen to attract some ones attention - totally unacceptable when there was only one other seated table in the restaurant. Food was mediocre at best - pork loin overcooked, cold mushrooms with the crostinis, cold plates and everything was very average. Inflated prices and sub par food. Will not be back.
Great food and service in a smaller cozy atmosphere.
There was a cold draft at our feet, table located by a window and we were offered a light blanket but this should not have been necessary. We also found the lighting was significantly too dark. The food itself was very good and served promptly, however, we also found it to be a little pricey. We have dined at this location many times over the years and new ownership is not yet an improvement.
Beautiful menu! Perfect service. We enjoyed every bite. An absolute recommendation.
Food was excellent. Surprisingly we were the only two in the place at 7:15 through to the end of our meal.
friendly and courteous service, very well presented meals, great flavours
One of the best meals we have had in a very long time. Nice and quiet. Amazing food and great service.
A great escape from the chaos of the pretentious trendy big-name restaurants in town. We highly recommend the Hidden Gem.
We'd requested a quiet corner for a discussion over dinner, and our wish was totally accommodated. Service was excellent; food was tasty; the wine we had was good value.
Recently renovated but Kitchen needs work. Halibut ($40) was over cooked and dry while my wife’s pasta dish was pedestrian.
I have a number of food intolerances so tend to be leary eating out. Tammy, the owner me assured the chef took great care in food preparation. And he did! It was so delicious. The other people in our party also enjoyed delicious meals. The service was excellent. Our needs met with care and efficiency. We also a tour of the newly renovated upstairs area with seating for groups for special events. We will definitely return and recommend this gem in downtown Kelowna to others.
This place is a “true hidden jam”. Food, service from Tammy were amazing. We had a crab cake and mushroom crostini,as well as honey pork loin. Each and every bite was a blast of an amazing taste. I would highly recommended this if you are looking for a nice evening out and would like to support local businesses.
Unfortunately, our dining experience was less than adequate. The wine that we chose was not available, but the server was gracious in helping us locate a second choice. The daily special was sold out, although we arrived at 7:00 and the restaurant was empty. The roasted beet and goat cheese appy was made with pickled beets and had to be sent back. The pork entree was overcooked. The halibut ($42) was overcooked. The chicken entree was overcooked. The vegetables were plain and unseasoned. Our $350 could have been spent elsewhere for better value.
At the restaurant a couple of months ago and they seemed to pull out all the stops for us. The meal was beautiful and beautifully presented. This time, it was a different experience - presentation and good quality was fair and there was only one other couple in the restaurant on a Saturday night. Sadly, I think it is not headed in a good direction
Wonderful spot, quiet and private. We were one of the only tables at the restaurant. The service and food were wonderful. Also the corkage was reasonable.
Great food and great service!
Weird vibe in this restaurant. We were the only ones in the restaurant for a 6:30 seating. The owner or one of the managers just stared at our table like 12 ft away as we ate our apples. The feeling of desperation from staff was hanging in the air. The prawn cocktail I had was warm and the prawns were rubbery. The crab cake my wife had was mostly breading (very little crab) and was crunchy on the edges and moist in the middle. We left before we ordered our mains. Didn't feel like spending another $100 for two mains, if the apples came to us so awful. Would not go back.
