Drinks were very good, atmosphere was casual, but fun, and energetic. Service was attentive and professional. Food was a mixed bag. Loved the karage fried chicken, vegetable tempura, pickled vegetables and the potstickers (especially the sauce). Did not like the cauliflower or the short rib.

We had a party of four (that was reduced from 7 because it was raining). Hojoka was very accomodating changing our reservation with no problems. The food was outstanding. Everyone enjoyed their food selections and their drinks. Forest was our server, and he was fantastic. Will definitely return, as it was our first time.

We sat in a quiet roomy booth with a view of the hotel pool. It was an interesting experience seeing folks swimming while enjoying flavorful izakaya. Sake on tap was special. Recommend the yakitori wings, shitake tempura roll and shrimp toast. Staff was polite and helpful.

The Noodle bowl was amazing. The only thing that knocked my review down was the roll we had first. It didn’t seem like it was on site. Rather store bought and heavily over seasoned with lemon zest. Other wise, like I said, the noodle bowl was amazing!! Staff was super nice. And chuckled at my Dad jokes.

The food was amazing but very expensive. The amount per plate (with the exception of the sushi rolls) was so small. The skewers were delicious and a good deal. Our server wasn't super attentive but the place was very cool and had a great vibe.

Celebrating my husband’s birthday, we stayed at The Verb hotel & went to Hojoko for dinner. The sign outside states that it’s a Japanese tavern & that describes the environment pretty well. The bar is centrally located with tables scattered throughout the rustic & casual environment. Cocktails are creative and fun, with a tropical bent, as well as a plethora of saki options. The majority of food options are small plates, meant to share, with a few more ample noodle & rice dishes. My husband loved the fried chicken & spicy noodles & the shrimp toast dish was crazy good! Looking forward to returning, especially with friends!

Great all-around versatile spot in Fenway. Date night, with friends, pre or post-Red Sox game...this is the place to go! Amazing drink menu and tasty fusion food menu. My favorites are the Crispy Chicken Wings with gochujang, Cheeseburger (Best of Boston winner), and Funky Chicken Ramen. My go-to drinks are the Tanuki and PK Negroni.

We LOVE Hojoko! The impossible "meat" wontons and the shiitake mushroom tempura roll were especially incredible standouts (and so were the cocktails!), but everything we ate was absolutely delicious. The patio was fantastic, too. Parking in the area is a pain (unsurprisingly, given that it's Fenway), so I recommend coming by public transit if you can. Otherwise, we have nothing but praise for Hojoko. It's our new favorite spot for an indulgent night out!

Overall, Hojoko had a great ambiance and energetic interior which can be contributed to the Verb Hotel layout. The food was good such as the chicken kaarage and the raw fish selection but other items were okay. Drinks such as the yuzu sake shot was extremely good while the other cocktails such as the pina colada and Tokyo Tea were a tad unbalanced. Great place to take co-workers but make sure to order the tuna rib in advance as it is normal on the standard menu.

A fantastic location and great drink menu. The food has limited choices, but good stuff. The service was a bit slow because of the busy house, but the servers were nice. Much better having dinner and drinks here than at Fenway. I'll go back for sure!

We sat at the poolside patio - far better than inside which was incredibly noisy and hot in there. Our food was decent: the steak skewer thing in particular was super tasty - as was the sweet potato pancake thing, the sushi was okay but nothing to write home about. They forgot to place the order for edamame but also didn't charge us for it. I ordered a mai tai which was absolutely undrinkable, I think they forgot the mixers - but the waitress was very gracious about letting me exchange for another beverage. Overall we would eat here again - outside for sure. Very convenient location for the Fenway Park area, fast and friendly service even though they were very busy.

What a pleasant surprise. I found Hojoko when looking for a place near MGM. It is hidden away in plain sight next to the Verb Hotel. A limited menu serves up fresh, quality choices. A couple of specials and a dessert choice round out a tremendous dining experience. I have no idea how many times I have strolled past Hojoko, will not make that mistake again.

Hojoko is always great. Food is delicious, good drinks. However, prices are steep (15$ for small cocktail, 16$ for a 6 piece roll). If it were a bit more reasonable I’d be there all the time.

We made reservations before and were seated right when we arrived. The food was very good, don’t order too much at first because it comes out when ready and it definitely can be filling! I recommend the chicken wings with soy sauce & potstickers. Sushi was fresh. My cocktail was not good, but in all everything seems worth coming back for. I don’t love the plastic red cups you drink from, for ambiance that kind of made it feel like a cheap restaurant, but the bill and prices prove otherwise. Service was good. Some areas are very dark, so depends what you are looking for, but overall the ambience was cool. Something different!

I used to love Hojoko but this time around the food was almost inedible and incredibly over priced for what we got. To make matters worse we were seated in an absolutely soulless closed in patio with plastic sheeting on the windows that had zero charm or ambiance. Drinks were out of balance. The whole experience was so disappointing.

Delicious meal on a cold night near Fenway! We especially enjoyed the mushroom roll and both ramens! Our server was fantastic! We were wishing to go back one more time during our visit in Boston but timing didn’t work out.
