Holts Café Bloor
The menus will pay homage to Holts Café classics and staples with a warm, inviting, fresh, and simplistic approach. Service times include brunch and lunch at all cafés, as well as afternoon tea and an expanded evening dinner service at select locations—all in a refined, contemporary environment.
Main dish pasta was lukewarm and not hot. Not enough flavor to the cod appetiser, did not taste like cod.
Loved lunch at the new Holts Cafe!
Lovely, timeless room! Great menu and excellent food!
Menu is pretty short, dishes are quite expensive for the quality and portion size. Service is excellent though.
Ambiance and service is very good but menu ( especially brunch menu ) needs to be improved, limited menu items with small portions.
Quality of the food is not same with old Holts Cafe..It is very frustrating.I believe they will fix those issues in near future.
Everything from the food to the service was excellent. It was very clean and quiet. I will definitely go back.
I loved the old holts cafe and the new one is even more beautiful ...quality food was excellent but portion size now is smaller and prices higher unfortunately !
A very relaxed atmosphere with great food and service
Food not as good as the previous café but more expensive.
I would bring back the Shepherds Pie.
The machines for credit charge need to be updated for ease of use.
The waiter and the Maître d’ could not have been more attentive and accommodating.
A wonderful experience overall.
So happy to have The Holt’s Cafe back and with a great new look.
Today was very slow waiting for food but was compensated at the end which was apropo and appreciated. I am a strong supporter of holt’s so will continue to be back often And as when anything is new it has faults ..
wishing the cafe the best!
Good food, great venue bit service needs work. Often the case with new restaurants.
Food and ambiance were good. The mushroom tartine was very good although a bit too much sauce on the bread. Sweet potato fries and truffle fries very good. We would like to see Chicken Pot Pie back on the menu! Service attentiveness was excellent.
Restaurant is nicely redone in modern minimalist look. However the washrooms are a bit overwhelming in copper and could use more definition. They are a bit dark esp in the stalls and the solid walls and doors in copper colour might pose challenges for someone with a sight disability. The emerald green accent pillars etc in the washrooms are just bizarre although certainly make them stand out against the copper. A couple of members of our party said that the toilets didn't flush well; I didn't have that problem. In contrast to the rest of the restaurant, I'd give low marks to the washrooms for ambiance although they made for good conversation topics!
Loved the restaurant..I would recommend it to my friends.
Great attentive service — and lovely space!
I would recommend Holt's Cafe absolutely! We had a lovely time - actually stayed three hours! Beautiful decor. Charming waiter (Dylan).
I ordered a salad as my main (BLT). Unfortunately it was so tiny!!! It was the size of a side salad and cost $27. I’m shocked the management thinks that’s acceptable value for the price, or perhaps the chefs thought they were preparing a salad for a toddler...
Truth be told, I had to pick up another lunch after leaving here.
I use to frequent this spot before the renovations and until they fix this issue I don’t plan on returning, there’s just too many good options I’d rather spend my money at.
Food great! Truffle fries could be a little hotter.
Love the new ambience.
I like the renovations.. Sadly the food isn’t as good as the new ambiance. The BLT salad is basically chicken and lettuce leaves. One cherry tomato halved and a few crumbles of bacon. The most popular tartine isn’t on the menu, tomato and caprese cheese... Everyone else at our table were dissatisfied with their meals as well.. Hopefully things will get better..
A huge amount has been spent, and the cafe looks quite pleasant, but the experience was certainly not better than the previous eating place. There were many servers bringing snd taking plates; it was like being on a production line. Although very efficient they certainly didn't make any attempt at establishing a rapport with us. Who are their main patrons? I don't know, but they should look after the old-timers and encourage new customers. The menu was acceptable but not inspiring. I was pleased to see tartines, but the famous caprese was missing. After a waiter was extolling the virtues of the sorbets, I chose raspberry version. It was great, but the portion was only a tiny softened mini spoonful, that wouldn't have passed as a between-course palate- cleansing, never mind a dessert.
I will go back because my husband wants to try it, but I hope it will improve. This lunch with an old friend, was a big disappointment.
The Reno was beautifully done, tasteful, elegant but also fun space. Service was perfect, everyone very professional and friendly.
Service and food was fantastic. The atmosphere was lovely.
If you remember the old Holt's Cafe was white marble and hot pink. They have but a wrecking ball through that it's gold with royal blue and red. There's a huge bar in the front and now private dining areas. I went for brunch and will definitely be back. By the way, the Steak and Eggs are to die for.
Basic diner food with Holt price tag.
Disappointed that the kitchen fell short of my expectation for a simple Benedict with over cooked poached eggs.
I was happy to see my favorite item- the smoked salmon tartine-on the new menu. My friend and I both ordered it and were surprised to see only one poached egg sitting on the dish. In its previous incarnation, there were three eggs provided. It certainly did not seem like enough food to warrant the $20 charge. I was too embarrassed to ask to see the menu again, but the one on the website clearly says poached “eggs”... I was also disappointed that my $6 latte was not accompanied by a biscotti, as was the previous practice.
But our service was outstanding and I liked the look of the new place.
The lighting should be dimmed. We were there on a cloudy day and it was much too bright if the sun had been out it would have been worse.
The room itself is cheerful and comfortable.
The service was great but the menu should be updated from the tardines. The bread was too hard to cut
and we struggled with it. It's a lovely new space no needs a new menu.
Mimi, our server was amazing! She was courteous and really know the food items well. Excellent service. Holts Cafe has nice decor, very relaxing.
The newly reopened cafe is a bright, fresh take on a classic European cafe. Service was very friendly and attentive while the food was tasty and well presented. I used to frequent the cafe and missed it while it was being renovated, but am pleased to see that the wait was worth it.
The menu description of the BLT salad was the same as e 3 of us had enjoyed in the past. The food prep & presentation was not the same however and it was not as tasty. We were therefore disappointed in the food.
The service was very good - probably better than in the past.
The new renovation is gorgeous!!!!! Went for Sunday brunch and my friend and I loved our dishes. I had the salmon tartine and she had the duck confit hash. Both were amazing and nothing was left behind. I can’t wait to go back and try something else
We visited Holt Refrew Bloor St. to attend the Lunar New Year event. I was pleasantly surprised that Holt's Cafe offered a Lunar New Year menu with a delicious vegetarian option. The renovation to the cafe makes the entire area more luminous and offers great street views for those dining.
My friend and I were impressed. Everyone was attentive and friendly, without being overly friendly.
