Honey Badger is an American avant-garde restaurant with a secret undisclosed menu that changes daily.

HB represents intimacy with nature, the environment, and ourselves. The open kitchen is the stage where the chef prepares every dish live. Every Chalet is treated as the Chef’s Table.

HB is a wild-to-table eatery, sourcing from a network of foragers extending from Maine through PA, with a keen focus on sustainable harvesting and the northeast as terroir.

We work with five sustainable local farms as well as our bio-dynamic one. We take great pride in using local organic produce.

Our in-house methods of baking, pickling, smoking, braising, and fermenting. We aim to showcase the best our local farmers and foragers have to offer.

HB is currently offering a Summer Tasting “Omakase” Menu incorporating all of our limited exclusive foraged ingredients and wild game. Price is $195 per person.

The meal was a great overall experience but a little pricey considering the amount of food we got. Maybe the time of year was bad but I saw others got lobster and scallops and overall bigger portions than what I got. The wife and husband definitely know what they are doing and are super nice. My girlfriend LOVED it, which is all that really matters but I left still very much hungry and had to get more food after spending 700 bucks on dinner.

Great, unique tasting menu. I tried many new ingredients like local nuts and berries. It’s a fine dining experience in a casual environment, very cute outdoor seating tents. Dinner takes a little over two hours and there is an optional drink pairing.

It was an amazing food journey and we were able to try dishes and taste flavours that were unusual and delicious. A great deal of effort and thought goes into the menu - and it is clearly a passion of the owners.

A truly unique experience. I loved this place so much that I felt compelled to write friends the next day to make sure they knew about it. It is obvious that a lot of thought and care goes into the creation of the menu.

This had to be one of the most eye opening experiences in food that I’ve had in a long time. Run by a family, husband, wife and their young daughter, you can feel a part of their passion and struggles, and it makes dinner all that more meaningful. The ambiance in the tents were perfect, with a little record store on the same block, making for a magic moment. The food - I can’t say enough about. If you’ve ever been to Aska, underneath the Williamsburg bridge, it’s that level of service, speciality, thought, high concept, and for a reasonable price (still some pennies tho). There really, truly is nothing like this in the all of the city. You have to come now before it’s too late or blows up to big.

The food was spectacular, there is no dispute there. And our waiter, bless him, made a huge effort and kept a straight face as he reverently described the backstory of every ingredient. But those descriptions were fetish-y at best and truly comical at worst. It was like being in a Portlandia skit. Potatoes were “un-sprayed”, duck wasn’t duck but “water fowl.” Please, all who read this, google Brooklyn Bar Menu Generator, a satirical site and perfect reflection of Honey Badger.

Inventive, unique, delicious, and OHMYGOD expensive. Went for Valentine's day, and found out after sitting down (when I couldn't really reconsider) that the meal was $222/person. I expected to spend a lot, it was Valentine's Day. But not THIS much. We each did the $60 wine pairing, and with tip it came to $753. If the total was $350, I'd rate it a 5.

First, if you do go - know it is cash only. The menu is only a tasting menu, no menu selections available. We were served 5 courses and although they said they foraged for the ingredients, I would like to know where they foraged the salt from. The dominating salt flavor overtook every course. Our water glasses were repeatedly empty because of this and took a long time to be refilled. The service model was difficult to do well because all of the tables were served at the same time. No table was served until we walked in, and we were the last table to be seated. Who knows how long they were all sitting there! Any dish that was supposed to be hot was lukewarm at best. We watched our pasta dish be prepared with noodles cooking in a hot water kettle. We asked repeatedly for the music to be turned down, and after it was turned down, it was still slightly bothersome. We were also sat between the door and this weird makeshift fireplace. It emanated heat, which was nice, but was placed on a bale of hay which seems like quite the fire hazard. The “kitchen” was visible from our table and we watched every course be prepared, but an odd addition was a child hanging out in the corner while the food was prepared. The menus were confusing. They were small slips of paper, and had they gotten too close to this heat source probably could have ignited the bale of hay, and the wine list had no details except for the region and country with extraordinarily high prices for a bottle. The food menu listed each course with one ingredient and we had to ask for explanation. When the food was then served, the ingredients changed or some were left out in explanation. Overall we sat in the restaurant for 2.5 hours for 5 courses, which after reading other reviews is a short amount of time. While this concept could work in a restaurant, I recommend looking elsewhere. The execution and product is poor and we will not be returning, after spending $250 for 3 people without drinks!

What a wonderful gem of a restaurant. Forget travelling around the world to Noma, we have a wonderful little place right here in Brooklyn dedicated to foraged and specially grown and raised food. Not all the dishes were perfect, but you could see the thoughtfulness behind each one. The no credit card policy was a surprise, so be prepared. Still, if you love food, you will definitely want to try this restaurant. We will be back!

Upon first impression we saw a few couples having drinks and thought it might not be for full dinning but we got there pretty late- past 9:00pm. We are so glad we booked a reservation here. It was the coolest, tastiest, most interesting dinning we’ve ever experienced. I tried so many foods I’ve never had that I’m now obsessed with. It’s also really cool the local sustainability and food education they are creating. Service was excellent. This is an amazing place for a date or anniversary, or to bring people visiting from out of town. It felt like stepping into a food documentary on Netflix.

This is a remarkable Michelin-quality special occasion restaurant and relatively undiscovered. It is small and everything served has a backstory insofar as the ingredients are local and wild. Because there’s a kind of eco- idea behind the cuisine (local/wild) the dishes are sometimes surprising or curious, which makes for a refreshing and occasionally hilarious evening out.. The seasonal menu is either 5 course or 7 course. Everything is plated beautifully, even artfully, and some of the tastes were largely new. The dining experience takes over 2 hours or longer.. I was taken by everything about it--the artistry, inventiveness, intelligent commitment to their mission. Decor is chic rustic. Were it in Williamsburg it’d be packed. You’ll think differently about food after eating here. Cash only, not cheap. I know this is a rave so disclaimer- I have no connection whatsoever to the restaurant and am unfamiliar with this school of cooking, which I imagine is some kind of trend.

A ludicrously specific and esoteric concept that was poorly executed across 3 1/2 blisteringly hot and stuffy hours, in 5 tedious courses, each more underwhelming and poorly explained than the last. Also the $60/ person wine pairing could have been made less gruesome had the waitress instead just hit me over the head with the bottle of red blend table wine after she explained to us that the term “biodynamic” refers to the grapes being planted “like something to do with moon cycles, so it’s even higher than organic”— the one benefit of dining here however, is knowing I will never have to do it again.

These guys are the real deal. While some business go out of their way to brag about their "local" food (a term that gets seriously fudged sometimes), these two show up at the farmer's market even in the pouring rain to pick up the best ingredients New York has to offer, directly from local food producers themselves. I know, because I sell them fish every Saturday. And the food? Unbeatable. You can watch them make it, they have nothing to hide. Real people, real food, it doesn't get better.

At first we walked in and the place was quiet and there was only three other tables. When he started getting served they came out with this tiny started that was filled with stuff I’ve never tasted before. Each and every one was fantastic and made my tastebuds start jumping and excited for what was to come. Quickly after the plates began coming out each better than the rest. One dish was pasta made with an ostrich egg which was fantastic and we got to play with the shell of the egg beforehand. This place is a hidden gem and I hope it stays that way. However I would love to see the place grow and show everything it has to offer. I will definitely return sometime.

Oh god. A three hour dinner and the portions were tiny! Super slow... I was starving and my husband was super tired from the week and we had to sit there and wait for every course to come out... oh, and it was cash only. If it was timed reasonably and the portions were at least double in size if not triple it would have been great.

Went here for brunch with my fiancé. It’s a speakeasy-style restaurant and is a really small kitchen, so making reservations turned out to be crucial for getting in and for the kitchen to plan. Brunch is a multi-course tasting menu, served all at one. Do you have to be okay with waiting a fair amount before your food comes out. The food was all amazing! It’s clear the couple running things are passionate about getting high quality, great ingredients. I’d definitely go back again.

There’s a perfect balance that’s really hard to find in life. The flavors, the way everything looks, the genuine love behind every preparation, the counterbalance, the daughter behind the counter, a couple putting everything they have into every plate, a surprise bouquet of valentines day flowers, the love the team has for each other. Everything about Honey Badger is from the heart and backed by very very rare and exceptional talent. I haven’t had a dining experience like it.

Saw so many fabulous reviews, we couldn't wait to try it. We did a tasting menu and were pretty excited to try all of the unique dishes. When we arrived, the restaurant was empty- we had one of the earlier reservations- but 2.5 hours later, we were so ready to go. The service was extremely slow- even for a tiny restaurant with a tiny kitchen. And the food, although unique and beautiful, lacked in flavor for us. Overall, we were really kind of let down.
