   We had a good time mostly owing to our great server. Her energy and personality made our meal cheerful and fun, but the food was hit and miss. My husband had the halibut and enjoyed it very much. I had the risotto with duck confit and sautéed foie gras, three of my favourite foods. The first few bites were enjoyable but I quickly realized that I could not possibly eat the whole dish as the risotto was way too salty. I picked through the risotto to find all the pieces of duck but had to leave most of my dish :-( My husband's sticky toffee pudding was good, but my crème brûlée, though tasty, was accompanied by pieces of cake that were probably just torn by hand from a loaf, but they honestly looked like someone had taken a bite out of a larger piece of cake. Not the most appetizing presentation, but the crème brûlée was lovely. We would return, but not for a special occasion. Since this was our wedding anniversary, the dining experience fell a little short, but we will be back for patio season. Thanks!

   Ladies brunch out with out of town friends. I had been there in the summer and really enjoyed my outdoor luncheon experience. I booked brunch on Sunday and all I can say is that I’ll be back. Back for the food and ambience but a big draw back is the couple who were singing and playing the guitar. Her voice is beautiful, as I was leaving they were singing ‘Shallow’ by Lady Gsga and Bradley Cooper....sooo good! I’ll be back.

   Honsberger Estates never disappoints! The Small Barn is so intimate and romantic and just oozes ambiance. We were there for just the charcuterie plate and some wine, but then couldn't resist splitting an excellent caesar salad, the arancini, as well as the sticky toffee pudding. All was excellent! Our server, Vivian, was outstanding. Friendly and attentive, she is everything you're looking for in a server. I still like to say that Honsberger Estates is "Niagara's Best Kept Secret", but given how popular it seemed to be the night we were there, the word is obviously getting out!

    We were excited to try the Honsberger restaurant, and went for Valentine's dinner. The homemade bread was excellent and the appetizer was good. However, it was extremely loud with a speaker above our heads. They turned it down a bit, but not much. We then waited well over an hour for our main dishes... Unfortunately, my husband's strip loin was tough and he had a hard time cutting/eating it. I couldn't access /eat most of my lobster meat as they didn't have the tools to crack it. We should have sent it all back, but it was very busy and our waitress didn't check on us for a long time. We also had to be somewhere, so we were hesitant to send it back and wait over an hour again. They gave us complimentary desert, and said sorry, but for we paid $118.00 for meals we couldn't eat/ enjoy...

    I had lunch here with friends April last year and it was delicious, friendly and prompt service. So we Brought different friends from out of town here on Sat Feb 8.. 1. service was definitely lacking this time; we waited over 1 hour with no explanation as to what the hold up was; 2.when the entrees did arrive not all arrived together and two of them were cold. and the forth entree arrived 10 min after the first three. 3.The server disappeared and when we asked to get an explanation as to what happened the "general manager" could only say " I don't have an answer to that" not helpful.. I love supporting my local businesses... I definitely wouldn't say don't go here, as the food I myself had...the Mushroom risotto... was quite good! I hope they learned from this issue and you have a nicer visit.

    Really enjoyed our dinners. Hot salad with goat cheese was unusual and very tasty. Burger and chicken sandwich with fries were delicious and filling Onion jam on the burger was fantastic as was the Niagara gold cheese. Nice coffee drink to wash it all down. Service from Kim and Chloe was over the top Beautiful romantic restaurant. Can’t wait to return for another meal

    Very nice venue, wedding quality food at premium pricing. prompt service. Lovely evening out as it was out first time there. Great wine list and exceptional sticky toffee pudding for dessert! Will plan to return with the family.

    The space was beautiful and the food was good. However, there were minimal options for vegetarians. Even letting the staff know ahead of time, they didn't offer any options or ways to customize a dish to fit a vegetarian. If you had stricter dietary requirements, I would not suggest this place. Otherwise, we really enjoyed it.

    Food was delicious, service below average. Tenderloin PERFECTLY cooked, but Au Jus/reduction was REALLY salty. Companion ordered steak medium-well, brought it out at medium....let server know, she still served it & left table. Had to ask for ground pepper, when we did an electric one was dropped off at our table for self-use. Espresso was served with no biscotti, no sugar and no liqueur offered. Place was not CRAZY busy to explain any of this. Caesar salad & seafood chowder were both EXCELLENT. Also... everything served was generous portions! Wine list was limited & disappointing however. Overall i’d go back for food/ambiance but with the hope service would be a bit better.

    Server forgot to put our order in! Received our lunch 45 mins after order and then my husband’s was wrong! They did not charge us for our meal just the wine...which was just okay! Lovely decor and friendly staff but won’t go back!

    I would have given full marks in every category (the food was great, the live music excellent, and the person who ultimately was our server was lovely) but for the unpleasant “host” who finally acknowledged us standing at the entrance to the restaurant (we were there waiting for too long) and proceeded, very grumpily, to try to take the six of us to a completely inappropriate table for ten in a room that was intended for very large groups. When I indicated that I would prefer one of the two tables for six that were in the main room, she very huffily said she would see, that they were fully booked (they were not), and they had parties of 8 and 10 coming (what that had to do with the tables for six I can’t fathom). The person who ultimately became our server seemed to notice what was going on and took over. Things got back on track, and we had a lovely dinner. However, an initial experience like the one we had with the “host” leaves a bad impression. This is the second time at Honsberger that we have run into an unpleasant and incompetent server. Management would do well to pay attention to their serving staff.

    Love coming to Honsberger - I usually order the chicken sandwich which I really enjoy but this time two of us had the chicken sandwich and both of us found the bun and chicken to be very dry so needless to say we were disappointed with this lunch. Hopefully on my next visit things will improve.
