   We thought the ambience was lovely and the service was really great. We had the shrimp cocktail and grilled artichoke for appetizers - both were excellent. The salads that came with the entrees were also nice - but at the end of the day a salad is salad. My wife had the "American Wagyu" steak which was very flavorful, perfectly cooked (she ordered it medium rare and it was spot on) but it was still a cut of top sirloin, so great as it was for a top sirloin it was still top sirloin with all the pros and cons that come with it. The mashed potatoes that came with it were amazing. I ordered the Ahi Tuna which honestly could have used just a tiny bit more salt. I really regret not asking the server for some salt. It was pretty bland but that's on me I guess. I ordered the funeral potatoes with mine and really they should not be serving those potatoes. I've had really good high-end "funeral potatoes" before but this was definitely way beneath a "fine dining" restaurant. They were more on the level of a crappy buffet. Honestly, really bad. Both of our entrees came with some undercooked carrots and green beans - we didn't bother with them. For dessert we had the fried bread pudding which was surprisingly very delicious. So yeah, overall impression - wonderful service (our server was Danielle and she was super kind, patient, and attentive). I noticed other tables getting very good service as well. And the floor manager seemed to be very involved and very competent. The lighting was just right, and the noise level just right. Overall a great experience except for the entrees which I give a "B" grade. :)

   We love Hoof and Vine! The food is always perfection. The service we get from Callee is the best. She is kind and funny and always keeps things rolling for us. We were sad to learn she will be “retiring” from serving for a bit. We are confident she trained up the other servers to be like her. When you go, get the Ahi Tuna or the Stroganoff. Yum!

   This is my second visit to the restaurant and it did not disappoint. Service was great but most importantly the food was excellent. I had the New York strip which was perfectly cooked. My colleagues had the chicken and the ahi tuna which they said was fabulous. Crafted cocktails and appetizers were great as well.

   We can’t believe we haven’t been here before . It was absolutely delicious . From the bread and flavored butter to the salad and sides .. our Ribeyes were cooked to perfection . We will be regulars . We were so impressed !!!

   Six of us for a birthday dinner. We had great service and the food was delicious! Everything we had was wonderful. We tried so many things we took home half of our entrees and dessert.

    Some of the most tasteful food you will ever try. From the butter they offer with their bread, to the palette cleansing sorbet, to the amazing cuts - you need to eat here. Our server Candace made the experience even better. This was our second time and we are won over for life!

    Great server but it was very busy (Friday night) so she was swamped. Kitchen was also busy so food didn’t come out as quick as I thought it might. Still a wonderful evening. Food is kind of expensive.

    Drinks were good. Crab cake appetizer came out ice cold in the middle and burned on the outside, like it had been previously frozen and thrown in a hot pan. The salads were drenched in dressing and the lettuce was soft, so I think they prep the salads ahead of time. Our steaks were good, but the funeral potatoes were pretty tasteless. We weren’t offered refills on our drinks. This place tries for fine dining but missed the mark.

    The restaurant was very busy but the service was good, not exceptional. The main course, which was very flavorful, but did not look particularly well put together. There were a lot of various juices all over that gave the impression that it was just thrown together. We have dined here a number of times and this was not their best effort.

    Great food. Service was a little less than expected, however they were prepping for a large 30+ person party so they took the priority. Would definitely come back, try the elk or the pork chops there fantastic.

    Always great food and service. The monthly food and wine pairing is a great way to try excellent foods that you wouldn’t normally order. We always look forward to being there for a great experience.

    Get the Brussels Sprouts appetizer. It’s my wife’s favorite dish anywhere. Also get the Tiburon salad. The sorbet between the meals always hits the spot too.

    My husband and I ate here a couple weeks ago. It is our new favorite restaurant. Our server, Laura was absolutely amazing. She was so attentive and gave honest suggestions when asked. When we dined here we didn’t realize the Tiburon is their sister restaurant. What a pleasant surprise considering we’ve been there many times and love it. We both prefer the ambiance of Hoof & Vine better and plan to dine here many times in the future.

    We were looking for a fine dining experience, and we found it. The only complaint is the time was too long between the sorbet and the entree. There was a large group ahead of us, so we assumed that’s what was taking so long. We ordered the fried Brussels sprouts (delicious) and split the ribeye with the Wellington, each of us getting a salad, a starch, and vegetables. The ribeye was perfectly cooked and seasoned, not needing any sauce. The mushroom puff Wellington was so tasty. The salads (H&V and Tiburon) were different and delightful. We loved the different courses coming out separately and receiving new silverware for each course. Overall, we were both very satisfied with the food and the atmosphere, and we’ve already recommended it to family.

    The server was pretty good and nice. The ambiance was decent. I did ask for some recommendations and she was not very knowledgeable about the offerings. The food was by the worst part of my experience. I would expect the food quality to be much higher for the price point. My steak had little to no flavor, was very raw in the middle (I ordered medium rare), and the veggies were very very undercooked. I will not recommend this place to anyone and probably won’t ever return.

    We had a reservation and we're seated immediately upon arrival. I brought a friend who had never dined at your restaurant before. She was very impressed and had a wonderful experience. We especially loved your scallop appetizer. We will definitely be back soon.

    Love Hoof and Vine! The atmosphere is very classy and the food and service is always phenomenal! My favorites are the Hoof and Vine house salad and the beef tenderloin with the trio if dipping sauces. They do these funeral potatoes with cheezits and they are SO tasty! The stroganoff is also incredible! This is one of our favorite restaurants in the Salt Lake Valley!

    The quality of the steaks were top shelf, as were the sides and appetizers. Everything was beautifully prepared and the drinks were plentiful. The service was excellent. We were seated near the kitchen and asked to move and the request was taken care of without a fuss. A wonderful restaurant I can heartily recommend 100%.

    Update to original review. I was contacted immediately after posting and was asked to give them another chance. Everything was much better! The quality experience they obviously strive for was no, on point. Jon our waiter had great knowledge of the menu and answered all of our questions. The only downfall was my elk was ordering medium rare and was brought to the table medium well. The kitchen was quick to correct the dish. I highly recommend giving this restaurant a shot! ***original review*** There was nothing over the top bad. Unfortunately I think we got lost in the mix. We sat patiently waiting to have drink orders taken for about 5-10 minutes. Waters were only refilled when requested. We weren’t asked if we wanted more wine when we were done, we had to wait on forks and knives when our entrees came and the sorbet never showed up in between courses. For a fine dining experience I expected more. The food was good, unfortunately everything else over shadowed the experience.

    Hoof & Vine is definitely one of the best restaurants in Utah! It has a very unique, fine dining type atmosphere but won't break the bank. Tonight was our first time at H & V, we started with the fried brussel sprouts, mac & cheese and the artichoke. They were phenomenal! The main course was the elk steak that was cooked to perfection. And we wrapped it up with the creme brulee. Everything was phenomenal! I highly recommend hitting up Hoof & Vine for some amazing cuisine!
