Hostaria opened its doors on March 2000. Our well-known Master Chef Vittorio Muscariello, of the most prestigious Italian Restaurants on the Island: Valentino’s & La Trattoria El Faro Blanco, took a step forward to delight his costumers in his own home, using the most authentic Italian products, to bring to your palate the truly taste of the Italian dishes. The only authentic Forno al Legna in Aruba, preparing the best Pizza’s and special dishes. Hostaria Da’ Vittorio is conveniently located in the High Rise Hotels area, across from the Hyatt Regency. This restaurant has the exterior architecture of an old typical Arubian house, but once you enter our doors, you will feel just like in Italy.

    The pasta is perfectly cooked and seasoned. The service is very attentive. We go there at least once every time we are in Aruba!

    Very disappointing. Have been coming for 20 years, and this is by far the worst meal we have ever had. My 5 year old’s pasta and meatballs was messed up - how is that even possible?!? Clearly the sauce came from the bottom of the pan and was burnt on the bottom. When we asked to have it re-done, the waiter said 6 minutes max ..... 25 minutes later when we were ready to go the pasta came out. My father and I both had the Orecchiette with broccoli rabe and sausage (a meal we’ve had several times in the past). The rabe was extremely bitter, as if it just wasn’t cooked long enough, and therefore cause the entire dish to have a bitter flavor (our family is Italian, we know rabe can be bitter, but if it’s cooked properly it’s delicious). Even the pizza we had wasn’t cooked enough. Cheese was sliding off the dough when you picked up a piece. Really unfortunate as this had been one of our “go-to” restaurants for years, and typically we would visit again next week while on island.

    First time I have eaten there. The osso buco was great. Highly recommend it.

    The garden area is beautiful. We had a wonderful seating arrangement for 8 people. The food was “good”. I had the mushroom risotto which was really yummy and cooked well- but no truffle oil which since they say they are authentic Italian it is a must with mushroom risotto. The focaccia was like a dry thin pizza. Really good but not Italian focaccia. So all in all- the food is good and you won’t be disappointed but authentic Italian it truly isn’t. The cost for the meal was very good and worth it actually. The main thing that bummed all of us out was that a we tried to order an app while we waited for the last 2. They said no- we order all together. When the two came we wanted to order apps and then look at the menu. Again- a stern no- I want your order and I’ll wait here. It was 8:30 so maybe it was that they wanted to get us out by 10? Not sure but it ruined the feel of it all. During the meal the waiter simply was not friendly. He almost looked annoyed at times. When I nicely asked if they had the truffle oil he was “no” as he was walking away?? Really? I left it at that and we were all nice to him but it was too bad. As I went to pay the bill - it was $684 usd which was good for dinner and lots of wine, I saw the $96% service charge. That was fine with me- about 14% or so. I said “oh the service is included, good”. They waiter literally said -well that’s for the restaurant not really for me that should be a tip on top of that. Wow!!! That was rude. I have been a waitress and I always tip 20%. Not this time. I left it at the service charge and said nothing. As we left I walked by the waiter and said good bye—- he actually gave me a dirty look and ignored us!!! WOWOWOWO! Very bad. My girlfriend has a travel company and I am here touring for her. I will not be recommending them. Not because of the food or anything- it was good with a beautiful place- it is solely because of the service. He was awful. So- my final advice- good food, pretty garden, rude service.

    The meatballs were complete mush and either the red sauce or meatballs themselves were salty. The grouper in olive oil not good. Truffle fettuccini was $29 not worth it. The menu listed several types of pizzas and I should have ordered that. We were disappointed.

    Hostaria was a wonderful dining experience. An attentive and friendly staff, well prepared and presented food, an impressive wine list and a pleasant ambience made for a memorable time. Outstanding!

    My parents love this restaurant so we tried it. Food was very bland and very expensive. Not worth it at all for the cost. Service was also horribly slow and it wasn’t even very busy. Won’t be returning

    Swung by tonight to try the pizza. Last time we were there, the food looked good and we saw the brick oven for the pizza. My wife liked her 4 cheese pizza and I enjoyed my veggie pizza. Luckily for me, standing near our server was one of the other servers who heard me order the veggie pizza. He told me that it doesn't come with cheese, and asked if I wanted cheese on the pizza, which of course, I did. Both pizzas were individual size 10" pizzas and were tasty. They did charge for the cheese (which I expected) and I noticed on the menu that they charge for grated parm. Really???? In an Italian restaurant they charge for grated parm? Anyway, no biggie since the food was good. The service, as in the past, not so much. First, they auctioned off the food which I would not expect in a fine dining restaurant. Our server checked back once during our meal; right after they brought the pizzas and we were separating the slices. My wife wanted a cannoli, which was also good. Prices are par for the course for a fine dining restaurant ($20 for a 10" pizza) but the service was nowhere near what it should be. They do add a 15% service charge, and as in the past, didn't add to it because they didn't deserve it; unlike one of our favorite restaurants where they do add a service charge and we do add to it. So go for the food and sitting in a nice outdoor courtyard and not the service.

    Waited over 40 minutes for a reservation and finally flagged down the manager who seated us. After that people were very gracious and the food was very good but a little frustrating not to have anybody managing the wait.

    Honestly the food was mediocre at best and the restaurant is overpriced when compared to other restaurants in Aruba who offer great Italian food. It was very disappointing and it is unlikely I will ever return there
