Excellent food and service, best steak in a long time . Staff were amazing, how they remembered our order without writing it down is unreal, our waiter was friendly and was knowledgeable about the history of the steakhouse . We will definitely be back and will recommend to friends.

This was the most outstanding dining experience we’ve had since moving to Vancouver. The ambiance is very old school cozy, the service is attentive and lovely, and the food was perfection. My husband said his steak was among the best he’s ever had, and my Beef Wellington was dreamy. Don’t forget to show up extremely hungry!

I didn’t like the food BUT the service was excellent. The cheese toast was good but my steak and carrots taste burnt with no seasoning. They cook on a charcoal grill so others may like that. For me it taste as if the fire was too high.

Went to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. First time there, and it certainly did not disappoint. The cheese bread and Caesar were the best we had ever tasted, and the filet and dessert was out of this world!! Wonderful staff as well, we will be back!

Food and service were great. However there were so many screaming crying children it did not make for a usual Hy’s experience. Sounded like we were act Chunky Cheese!!!!! People even walking around the other tables holding their screaming child trying to settle them down while disturbing everyone else. Some people were moving to the bar to get away from it!!!!

I came into Hy’s this past weekend with my friend to celebrate his birthday. We had Tomeia as our server, and the service was impeccable and she was very welcoming and friendly! We (arguably) had one of the best tables in the dining room, and we loved the tableside Caesar and bananas foster. Tomeia was perfectly attentive - we were always taken care of before even needing to ask! The pace of service flowed so smoothly and added to the ambiance of a great night. Thank you, I’m excited to come back and hopefully have her as my server!

First time here and it was worth all the hype! Started with their incredible cheesy toast, then their made in house ceaser salad. Their mains were delish!!! Our server was Karen - she was amazing and made our experience that much better!

What an extraordinary experience! The restaurant was simply surreal, boasting remarkable architecture and an atmosphere that left us in awe. The food was nothing short of excellent; we began with a delectable cheesy bread and a Caesar salad made right at our table. Both were mouthwatering, showcasing the evident passion behind their culinary creations. We also indulged in the French onion soup, undoubtedly the finest we've ever tasted. And then came the pièce de résistance, the beef Wellington – a true culinary adventure. It was tender, juicy, and effortlessly delightful, with the puff pastry flawlessly executed. We concluded our meal with the delightful duo of key lime pie and cheesecake desserts, both equally splendid. I must commend our server, Dan, whose dedication shone through. He was remarkably attentive, displaying a genuine passion for his profession. His politeness and enthusiasm enriched our dining experience. Dan was swift in addressing all our inquiries and ensuring prompt service. In summary, this establishment may very well be the paramount steakhouse in all of Vancouver. We extend our heartfelt thanks for an unforgettable dinner and eagerly anticipate our return.

The toast and the Caesar salad is a must if you go, we also got the steak tartare which was also an experience on its own. The steaks that we also got was out of this world and the cooks definitely knew what they were doing.

Hy's is a classic steak house with a terrific vibe, great food and excellent service. Table side caesar salad was wonderful and the steaks were perfectly done! We also had a table side steak tare tare which was just excellent! Overall the meal and ambiance was just what you would expect from a fine steak house. Dan was the perfect waiter !

Simply a great meal. Service was outstanding, food the same. Really good wine recommendation. Nice table in a corner upstairs was quiet and out of the traffic pattern. Tables id preparation of salad and Steak Dianne is always fun. Expensive, but you get what you pay for!

This was the first time in years that we were disappointed in Hy's. There were three of us in our party and we were all disappointed in our steaks - fatty. The mashed potatoes were warm, not hot. No butter, salt or pepper offered until we asked for them. Caesar salad has more garlic than normal. The restaurant had a dank smell when you first enter, The restaurant is also getting tired and should be due for work. The Espresso Martini is very nice.
