My wife both enjoyed the dining out experience after so many months of lockdown. Service, food and drinks were all very agreeable.
The food was good and prompt. Drinks took quite long. We were seated on the Bloor side and the street noise was too much at times. There were also MANY people on the sidewalk using the tables on that side for eating, drinking, conversing, setting things down, resting, etc. Staff rarely asked them to leave or not use the tables. When they did, people literally shrugged it off.
I ordered melanzane fritte, gamberretti, mozzarella e proscuitto!
I loved mozzarella e proscuitto pizza so much! Want to have it again!!
As a pop-up patio, I didn't have high expectations for the experience.
The food was really quite good, but I've never come across a more disinterested server in my life. No spark, and little useful info about the menu items.
Oh well, nice to get out of the house anyway.
Eataly has created a colorful and spacious feeling outdoor patio at Bay & Bloor worth experiencing. We found the menu to be appealing, the food very good, and the service attentive. We will return!
We congratulate the staff who worked tirelessly to provide superior service under very difficult conditions. Everything was meticulously clean and one felt very safe. We will return when we can walk in without wearing a mask.
Service was really bad. Our server was very abrupt and visted our table infrequently. This place doesn't live up to all of the hype. The pizza was good, everything else was below average. The drinks were two thumbs down. I liked the privacy on the patio and the social distancing protocols that are in place.
The service was terrible. Out server ignored us for 10 minutes and when we asked to order she said “sure” in a rude way.
I wouldn’t recommend this place. The food is nothing at all what they serve at Eataly and extremely overpriced for what it is. Especially wine. The pizza was so expensive and only had 4 servings. It was awful and soggy. Would not go back.
In these times, a little bit of European urban paradise. Loved the Aperol
The pizza and caprese salad were delicious
The portion for the pesto shrimp were a bit small.
Love it on the patio. Good food and even better aperol spritz.
Friendly staff. Nice outdoor patio. Excellent food and service.
Over-priced tiny portions. Pasta was undercooked. Wait staff did not check back with our party until the very end of our meal. Would not return.
It poured with rain but the umbrella kept us dry.
Nice experience, clean and good distance between tables, service was great. We ordered a pizza to share, delicious but a bit small.
The food at Eataly is always a win. Their bolognese sauce is delicious! Also, their incorporation of italian liquors into cocktails is nice. Decor on the patio is super cute too.
Pretty patio, but value isn't there. Portions are small (smaller that what was offered in their regular dine-in restaurants pre-covid) and service was average (never saw the server, but other staff was nice).
The sidewalk on Bay Street was nicely transformed to ensure you forgot you were sitting on the sidewalk. Patio was beautiful staff was great. Drinks and food did not disappoint. Would for sure go back!
First impression was not good. This place has two patios right beside each other, one on Bloor st and then one around the corner on Bay st. I made a reservation online but it didn’t specify which patio to go to, so I went first to the one on Bloor. The hostess brought me to a table right away, but it was the only one without an umbrella on a very hot day (and the only two-top). I saw a few open tables with umbrellas and asked if I could sit at one of those. She said no that this was my reserved table (I believe she just wanted to seat someone at that two-top, even though I saw other parties of two people sitting at four-top tables.) I then asked if I could then check out the patio around the corner on Bay st to see if they had an umbrella table. She immediately said yes that shouldn’t be a problem—but quickly realized her mistake and assured me that this had been the reserved table but I could try. I went around to the other side, told them I had a reservation for 4 without any mention of what had happened around the corner and immediately got sat at a table. So, obviously they don’t pre-emptively reserve tables but seat based on what’s available at the time! Having worked in service many years, I found her lying pretty frustrating. After that, service was lovely but the food was subpar. I’ve eaten at Eataly’s restaurant inside before and the food was delicious, so I was really disappointed in the quality! The calamari was overcooked, chewy and under seasoned, and the Diavola pizza tasted like it was from a pub. The only thing we enjoyed was the caprese salad (but even that was under seasoned—a little salt and pepper goes a long way!).
All in all, I’d recommend this place for patio drinks since the cocktails were tasty and the service was quick, but not for a dining experience. Eataly, you can do better!
Great set-up and good practice of social/physically distancing of seating areas.
The bread and olive oil for the table was a welcome touch. Gulf shrimp with spicy basil pesto was as good as the our pre-pandemic experience. House marinated olives were very edible. The pizza with fennel sausage was tasty and the crust was soft and easy to cut with knife and fork. The pineapple and ginger beer mocktail was disappointing, with overwhelming taste of ginger and most of the space in the glass taken up by ice. Service by Bianca was attentive and efficient.
Great service. Comped my meal because it took longer to come out of the kitchen than he rest of my party's food.
Having a Patio on Bay Street is not the best but during these times I was happy to eat at Eataly.
The patio they have put together is so cute and very Well distanced. Really enjoyed my experience. I highly recommend the zucchini pizza! And their new raspberry lemon sour beer
The bloor street patio very pretty installation but construction noise, sirens, cars stopped eastbound bloor way too close to our table. I will not be back.
Excellent. The sever Marco was great and the hostess as well.
Food came out fast and hot.
Great experience. Had the Mushroom Rump Pesto pizza. Fabulous! First tome having rump pesto.
The food and the service were amazing. Can’t wait to go back again and bring family and friends.
It’s a great place to eat at! It’s a bit loud currently since they’re doing construction on Bay /Bloor but overall the service and food are outstanding!
The service was absolutely horrible. The food was disgusting.
My lover loved the Aperol Spritz. Cheapest glass of house wine is 17$, more expensive than the pizza we had. Pizza is small, don’t go when you are hungry. The pizza is pan pizza, like Pizza Hut used to serve in my college campus. Was hoping for thin crust. All that hype and we left disappointed. However me and my lover had a very romantic evening, the location helped a little, but our passion did the rest!
Nice atmosphere. The food comes in small portions relative to the price paid.
They did a really great job separating tables with plants and made a nice atmosphere. Very pricey for lunch and small portions. Even the beer was not a full pint. Food was good but I was expecting better due to the hype. Service was great! We went for the experience and would likely not go back.
Excellent service, attentive staff. Food was good, pricey but u r in Yorkville so that is expected. It was a sunny and hot day 30degrees, but they did a really good job with umbrellas and decor. Really enjoyed it after being cooped up at home bc of pandemic. Felt safe bc it was clean.
Not the best experience, not worth the hype. Was disappointed
Having to ask for cutlery and other items a few times after the food arrived was not ideal
Great patio. Lovely service from Laura, she made our experience just lovely. Food was questionable in terms of preparation and for the cost. Not a fan of the melon wrapped in prosciutto... not something I would recommend, not sure if this is part of Italian cuisine - refreshing 2-second bite but confusing mouthfeel of flavour.
The pizza and calamari were delicious. The drinks were also lovely and refreshing.
I was very excited to go out for lunch after so many month but unfortunately my experience was not worth it. The pizza I had was average and the chicken skewers were so charred that I only got the burnt taste. Also we were seated on the last table which was closer to their serving station. Every second someone passed by or was standing around. It was a special day because it was my husbands birthday lunch but both of us were quite disappointed. Customer service I would say was good. They checked on us couple of times.
Great decor. Street noise can be quite loud. Portion sizing is not similar to other Eataly restaurants but you pay almost the same price.
Everything was really good, only disappointment was that we couldn't order a coffee at our table outdoors.
