Amazing dinner with an amazing service. This is about as best as fine dinning will give you in nyc right now with pandemic. My husband and I go out all the time and love a great fine dinning restaurant but it’s been so cold we can’t even enjoy but gattopardo made it perfect to feel warm and still comply with all guidelines.

Be cautious on surprising "treats" brought to the table!! So I have to say that I'm super disappointed - have passed this place so many times on the way home. Beautifully set up for outdoor dining. I will say the food and the service is fantastic and I would have been giving 5-stars except for a big surprise when I got our bill. We had said we were there to celebrate a special event and ordered a decent bottle of wine ($215) after a specialty cocktail ($42 for both). We ordered three courses and then one last glass of wine for my husband (we weren't asked which - it was $32)....so perhaps after seeing we were comfortable with spending on a good meal, they thought it okay to surprise us with a $90 charge for two grappa/brandy - I had asked for tea to warm me up and the server suggested a cognac or brandy and we agreed. Shocked to see a $90 fee for these beverages - no discussion about it. I just paid the bill and left - my husband was furious. Not sure we will go back after what feels like a sneaky attempt to make money from customers who can afford to pay. Just because we CAN doesn't mean we would have agreed to a $90 brandy closer.

Outdoor dining. Very well set up. We had a lovely table up a few stone stairs at the building entrance on a landing. Personal heater. Quite warm enough and well separated from others. Pleasant and attentive service. Tasty food. Highly recommend the Osso Buco. Serves not large but sufficient. On the pricey side including wines though the selection of Italian wines was excellent.

IL Gatopardo is proof that fine dining can be done in any situation without losing an ounce of attention to detail or sacrificing quality. Christmas Eve in a rainstorm and we were nestled in a nook of the step down, that felt like a private dining room. The food was spectacular and the wine and service was sublime. In the midst of all this crazy, it’s wonderful to know that you can still find a little pocket of civility and beauty. Thank you, thank you, thank you! ❤️

Il Gattopardo for me sets the standard for Italian cuisine in the city. It’s a fortunate combination of extremely high quality ingredients, superlative cooking techniques, and (truly) amazing staff, always affable and professional. We particularly appreciated the efforts they made to accommodate outdoor dining in this difficult time arranging tables in a thoughtful manner and preserving a high-end feel to our experience. Kudos to all, Keep it up!

Service was excellent. Covered and heated outdoor seating available except the door to the outdoor seating was kept open most of the time so you didn't always feel the heat.

Seafood risotto special was amazing

Even with the unfair restrictions on restaurants in NYC the people who served us took it in stride. They were professional, polite, courteous, and above all a pleasure to talk with throughout our lunch. The chef brought to the table an amazing lunch. We thoroughly enjoyed every thing about our restaurant choice.

Service was a fair amount slower than I'd like (certainly if you're planning on bringing kids). Food was decent but expensive. Ambient and friendly service. Perfectly acceptable.

I never received my 100 points for this restaurant. The food was excellent but the wait staff inadequate at best.

Wonderful late lunch after a visit to MoMA. The outdoor covered, heated seating was well constructed. Attentive staff. Amazing veal entrees. Can't believe this was our first time dining there as long time Manhattan residents. We will definitely return!

Enjoyed eating outdoors on a beautiful Saturday night in New York. It was 55 degrees and the twinkling lights made it so much sweeter. Food and Wine were delicious. Service was wonderful. (The only drawback was the loud gentleman next to us who must have repeated over a dozen times how much the people at his table would like Dubai so much better than New York.)

Such a beautiful, Covid-compliant, well-heated, well-ventilated outside space to dine in until it is safe to return to enjoy the marvelous indoor dining experience. Could not have had a more delicious meal, or wonderful service. To top it off, had the seasonal speciality of homemade pasta with shaved white truffles. Still swooning over the perfection of that dish.

In addition to the excellent food and service long enjoyed by guests of Il Gattopardo -- the COVID-19 safe seating now accompanies their offerings. With a carpeted and landscaped sidewalk cafe, and several tables for two elevated on the landings of adjoining townhouses -- one can eat as safely as one dines superbly.

Meeting people at Il Gattopardo makes every business conversation so pleasant! The impeccable service, the amazing food and a refined wine list allow every guest to enjoy a great experience, even in the pandemic. To me this is the best restaurant where you can taste an high level, authentic Italian food and it’s definitely my favorite choice in Manhattan. Chef Vito recently introduced in the menu an outstanding ‘fregola’ with scallops and asparagus that made my day! Mr. Sorrentino, is always able to offer to his clientele a marvelous time in his restaurants and superbly leads a well prepared staff. I can’t wait to come back soon. Grazie Il Gattopardo!

The food and wine was incredible! Great service. We had a truly wonderful experience. We sat socially distanced inside and it was a little drafty. That would normally be a negative but with Covid, it was nice to know air was circulating well. I will definitely return.

If you can get past the sky-high prices, it's the best Italian food and experience you'll have in NYC.
