Wanted to love it but wasn’t thrilled with the pork chop (served medium rare) or bread pudding (very heavy, dense and seemed dated). It was lovely inside and had great service and vibe. Would steer to pasta dishes next time, which were terrific.
Amazing food and atmosphere
Would absolutely return to Il Nido
Amazing service as well
World class. Literally.
Outstanding meal as always and thrilled that they have a bar with craft cocktails now!! Fish is prepared exceptionally well and the perfect skin crisp which is so hard to get. Super tender octopus and the new dessert chef has her flavors mastered perfectly. Love this family style restaurant and the care the chefs put into every dish.
Been wanting to try this restaurant for a long time. Took my wife there for her birthday. The food was exceptional and the service was great. Must say it was a bit pricey but well worth the cost!!
We enjoyed Il Nido for a while and are repeat customers but...they recently introduced liquor as part of the offering. All is normal here except that the wine list if very limited and of course on the high end ($$$). Lately the specials were just OK; they include a truffle past dish for a whapping $99 (on repeat). It has been one of our favorite restaurants because of the freshness of its ingredients, the organic farm to table approach. I hope there will be revival of their menu and expand a bit the wine list. I will recommend this restaurant with the appropriate caveats.
Great food and atmosphere, Can’t wait to go back.
This was our third time at Il Nido and each time we are very happy. The food is outstanding and so fresh. Our waiter David is so professional and always has great recommendations. We love it and will be back
There is little to be left to desire when visiting Il Nido. The food was fantasic, the steak tar tar was devine, the oysters were delicious, the cocktails were delightful and the service was spectacular. We were so impressed with the server's etiquette and service provided. We left the place full and extremely satisfied. This will not be the last time we come here! Highly recommend for lovely evening out paired with a delicious, gourmet meal.
The new Sommelier is outstanding and truly makes the most incredible cocktails! Try the Gianni Appleseed!
We came into our evening with high expectations after seeing Joe Rogan’s positive review about this restaurant. Unfortunately our experience was not great.
We have eaten at numerous high end restaurants in New York, Las Vegas, and Italy, and both the food and service at Il Nido was not worth the price.
It felt like this restaurant was attempting to be fine dining in NYC but with only a decent menu and very bad service. Our main server was nice and offered suggestions, but all the food runners and drink servers were clumsy and forgetful. Our water was rarely refilled and multiple drink orders didn’t come out.
The Wagyu meatballs and steak tartar were very good.
The best pasta dish was the black spaghetti, with great flavor, texture, and color. The cacio e pepe was severely underwhelming and the choice of pasta seemed strange.
The filet mignon was definitely the best entree, cooked beautifully and with excellent seasoning. The pork chop and halibut were underwhelming and definitely not worth getting again.
The bill was $400 for 4 people (only two glasses of wine total) and we were definitely underwhelmed.
I do think with significantly improved service and maybe some minor changes to the menu it could be a great place.
Joe Rogan did not lie! 10/10 good quality! Great atmosphere, host & waiters & waitresses!
At this price point nice casual should be replaced by polished and sophisticated. If you enjoy good food at exorbitant prices in a comfortable environment, go ahead and splurge.
We loved our waitress and food but unfortunately my dad had to send his $48 pork chop back twice as it was cold and undercooked. We will definitely be back but this was our first time.
Amazing, every moment from beginning to the end!
Excellent unique quality of food. Wonderful service.
We dined in a very warm tent on a 30 degree November night (I didn't see this mentioned in other reviews so hope this helps someone else). The tents are per party so very covid safe and pretty romantic too! The food was amaaaaazing (we shared a salad, and I enjoyed a pasta dinner, then we shared 3 different desserts). Highly recommend!!
Only okay...a bit blah. I've heard rave reviews and honestly, while very pretty inside, it was very overpriced. I don't ever mind paying top dollar for food, but there is a certain expectation to go with the high price - and this place totally misses the mark. The food was good, but nothing I would pay that much for again. Maybe my hopes were too high, but it just didn't compare to other restaurants in the same price category. I also found it annoying how often different wait staff were at the table - at times there were three wait staff lingering and it was just way too much that we literally had to stop conversation as people were reaching over us. Didn't give the intimate feel and felt like they were rushing us out. Other laughable moments include the $25 uncorking fee... and the $25 fee for heat if you use the outdoor tent.
Excellent, fresh, organic food. Highly recommend it.
Absolutely one of the best dining experiences my fiancé and I have ever had. Food is impeccable and the service is wonderful. You are treated like family. We are coming back!
Do yourself a favor and visit this amazing restaurant. The service is impeccable and they truly care about your experience. The food is absolutely amazing. Everything we ordered was flawless. Absolutely the best meal we had. The restaurant itself is a beautiful yet cozy atmosphere. You feel like you are in Italy. Highly recommend!!
Didn’t realize that OpenTable had our reservation set as Outdoor for NJ in November. Don’t think we got the whole Il Nido experience outside in the parking lot in the cold.
The food, drink, and service were all outstanding I recommend Il Nido for any occasion!
Excellent restaurant in every way! The service was exceptional, food amazing and ambiance beautiful. We were celebrating a special occasion so had a 2 year old with us, and they were so accommodating. I highly recommend Il Nido!
Dinner was outstanding, as always. The service is amazing. Our waiter, Dave, always goes above and beyond. First class dining experience. We can't wait to go back!
Heard about this place on Uncle Joey’s Joint and had to take my fiancé here. We both had pasta dishes and the tagliatelle, reminded me of my grandmother’s homemade pasta. I had the black spaghetti and it was out of this world. I would love to come back and try one of the steaks. My fiancé had the penicillin mescal and I had the midnight manhattan. Very tasty.
Excellent as always!
Simply the best, freshest homemade Italian food available in Monmouth County!!!
Waiter was obnoxious. We have eaten there several times this is the first time we were disappointed
Full stop one of the meals I’ve ever had anywhere.
Every single thing we ate was beautifully prepared and so full of flavor.
Warm and charming atmosphere with great recommendations from our waiter.
Couldn’t recommend more highly.
New Jersey and Marlboro are lucky to have Il Nido and I hope to come back again soon.
Fabulous restaurant! Food, drinks, and service is wonderful! Our favorite NJ restaurant! All organic! Just consistently amazing from appetizer to dessert!
Had a wonderful time for dinner. Our meals were delicious and Erica, our server was exceptional, which made the experience even better!
Just got back from a trip to Umbria and so happy to find organic farm to table dining in our town that has authentic Italian cuisine. Quality is fantastic.
Amazing food and service
Excellent! Great ambiance, service and amazing food. Can’t wait to go back.
The rohan duck was excellent and properly cooked to rare, as the waiter recommended. He also recommended the new halibut dish which was even better.
Note that will have a liquor license next month; so it is no longer a byob.
Food was amazing!
I had the Wagu meatballs and the chicken.
