    Je suis allée au restaurant Ile Flottante pour fêter un anniversaire. L'accueil a été très chaleureux et sympathique avec une attention à l'arrivée pour la personne qui fêtait son anniversaire et à la fin avec une petit bougie sur le dessert. Les plats étaient excellents, du début à la fin. Peu de choix de vins au verre, c'est dommage. Ambiance cosy et agréable. Le service bon au global, mais irrégulier car les serveurs ont changé durant la soirée. Par contre, comme j'avais lu dans d'autres commentaires, l'expérience est beaucoup trop longue: plus de 3 heures pour 6 plats...

    Excellent service. Food was delicate and delicious, in small portions, but the wine pairing was not optimal, despite spectacular story telling. The overall value was moderate: the dégustation menu with wine pairing ended up at $200 per head.

    Amazing experience!! My favorite place to celebrate special occasions in a cozy yet not pretentious environment. Lovely staff and great service! It is pricey, but absolutely worth it!

    What an amazing culinary experience from start to finish it was a 6 course perfection. They accommodated my food allergies with ease and everything was delicious. The service was fantastic and the wine pairings were a beautiful voyage around the world.

    C'est mon restaurant préféré à Montréal et j'ai fait tous les meilleurs ou presque. Les plats sont tout simplement incroyables. Le chef Sean Murray Smith est vraiment un artiste et magicien à la fois, lui et toute son équipe nous offre rien de moins qu'une expérience culinaire complète et harmonieuse du début à la fin. Chaque bouchée est une explosion de saveurs et chaque moment à l'île n'est que du bonheur! Merci à toute l'équipe !

    Ile Flottante was an unforgettable experience! I am lucky to have travelled and eaten at some of the best restaurants in Africa, Asia, Latin America, and Europe. My experience at Ile Flottante easily surpassed any starred restaurant I've been. The food was a delight surprise at every stage, with flavours, presentation and an authentic touch. Seven dishes were brought in by the team and paired with an excellent choice of wines. The staff was incredible, interactive and easily approachable. I want to thank everyone in the restaurant who made my special occasion and celebration with a special friend an experience to remember. I loved the atmosphere as well!! Magic is in the kitchen and around it. Well done!! I believe you will keep up the fantastic work, and I wish you all the recognition you deserve. Thank you

    The tasting menu and wine pairings were divine. This is high-end cuisine at its best. While the tasting menu is a surprise, they call you ahead of time to ask about dietary restrictions and preferences. The tasting menus, which include expert preparations of vegetables, can include meat and seafood… or simply vegetarian or vegan preparations. The Irish sommelière, Fiona, was trained in France and is highly skilled, bilingual, and so personable! I loved the beet and beef tartare, the expertly prepared scallops, the brie & truffle infused foam, the duck magret, the grilled mushrooms, the butter & bread course with a grilled cob of corn, the grape salad and the perfectly paired five pours of wine (sparkling, sake, reds & sherry). The restaurant’s padded pub chairs are not very comfortable and the (cold) marble tables lack tableclothes, so the decor is casual (as is the dress code). A credit card number is required for booking a reservation. The food is among the best in Montreal and well worth a visit for those of us who appreciate the artistry of fine cuisine and special-import international wines. Six-course dinner for two, including five wine pairings: $478, including tip.

    Ambiance et service sympas. Les plats manquent cruellement d’équilibre et de cohésion c’est dommage. Accorder truffe / basilic / navet / canard / jus fruits rouge n’était pas à mon goût. Ni la mousse au brie (très salée) et les tuiles caramel (tres sucrées). Pareil pour le dessert sucré-salé, avec glace pop-corn trop salée pour moi. Entre deux plats carnés, on vous servira un plat vegan. Why not mais la encore cela manque de cohésion. L’accord met et vin respectable mais seulement 2 petites gorgées par verre c'est très très cheap sérieusement. Expérience très ordinaire, ne justifiant pas le tarif très élevé à mon avis.

    The staff were just wonderful- professional and welcoming, the atmosphere was cozy and warm and the food was outstanding. We loved that it was a journey of fun discovery through each of the courses which were creative, innovative and delicious. We’re excited to return!

    I found this restaurant highly recommend during my research on the food scene in Montreal. It's centrally located and easy to get to. It was a 6 course meal and set. They do ask if you have any dietary restrictions or allergies (they had called and asked again in person). The staff is all friendly, attentive (but not overly) and knowledgeable with great recommendations. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal there and it was definitely an experience.

    The food was very poor for the cost of the tasting menu. Our second dish, (bread, butter and an ear of corn) didn't seem to have a cohesive element. The duck we were served could hardly be chewed. The scallops were well prepared but again, the rest of the dish didn't flow. We added a wine flight to our meal and the sommelier acted like she was insulted when we asked to see the name of the wine for a future purchase. For one glass, she poured and said she'd return later to describe the wine and never returned. Although the staff was attentive and friendly, the food just didn't meet the standard expected of a chef's tasting menu.

    Amazing tasting menu. The sommelier was extremely knowledgeable with her wine paring, came by and took her time to explain every wine to each table! Service was great, hospitality 100%, extremely worth it for the price as well! Must visit when you are in Montreal!

    Excellent menu dégustation. Nous avons apprécié chacun des services, plus particulièrement l'avant-dernier (pré dessert) qui fut un grand plaisir pour nos papilles gustatives. Nous avons reçu un excellent service du personnel. Si vous n'êtes pas pressés (la durée totale du repas fut d'environ 2 heures et 15 minutes), nous vous recommandons cet endroit !

    C'est ma troisième fois à ce restaurant. Encore une fois, le repas en 6 services était absolument délicieux et magnifique. Le service était très bon. Chapeau bien levé à la sommelière, qui nous a impressionnés par l'étendue de ses connaissances en plus d'être une personne fort agréable à rencontrer. J'ai bien hâte d'y retourner!

    Fantastic, creative 6-course dinner! Every dish was beautiful and delicious, but expertly served by knowledgeable, personable staff.     This place is a gem. The food is always beautifully (artfully) prepared and delicious, though the menu changes regularly. The sommelier is very knowledgeable and did a wonderful job pairing the wine with the food. I’ve been coming here for years whenever I’m in Montreal and it is always a highlight of my trip. If i had time for only one meal in Montreal, this restaurant would be my choice. The venue is intimate and can be noisy, which would be my only criticism, but would never keep me from enjoying this culinary adventure.
