A brilliant, truly uniquely BC dining experience. Some of the best seafood I have ever had coupled with a thoughtful wine list that is heavy on Okanagan Valley but is world-curious. The place is cozy and spending hours sipping and munching feels like a dream. Can’t wait to try this place again.

Vibe was nice, wine selection and Sommelier fantastic, lobster ravioli too fishy, texture and sauce nope for us. Fois gras yes, salad yes, bone marrow prefer straight up bone marrow, bread yes, will be back for sure. Nice night out.

This was our first visit and we were very impressed. A very casual place but the food was excellent! A perfect small meal to finish off the weekend. Highly recommend….you won’t be disappointed. Try the Anthony Buchanan sparking Riesling!

The team at Is That French - Kovic, Brent and Kyle - are so charismatic, passionate and talented! The ambiance with the candles, jazz music and beautiful tables/ lighting creates the perfect vibe for celebrations and get-togethers. The food and wine are spectacular, and it's nice they have a focus on celebrating local businesses and their high quality products. Highly recommend!!!

Been to the restaurant twice and always really enjoyed their food. It’s small plate Tapas style but I always end up getting full. The food is amazing, fresh ingredients made with creativity. Would definitely recommend!

Food is very pricy for the quality that is given. To get full, you would need to spend at least 75+. Go for the wine bar, not for dinner. Machines start tip suggestion at 20%, for a 'wine bar'

The server read that we were too busy chatting to make decisions on the menu and did an amazing job at taking the lead offering us a beautiful succession of gorgeous food and wines. It was absolutely perfect. Love everything about this place, particularly their ethos on supporting local farmers, wineries, and artists (their beauty dishware and custom furniture)!

Great little place with unique food chioces just the way we like it - small portions and exquisit flavors. Great service and fairly low total considered everything we had. Loved it and highly recommend.

I was super excited to go to your restaurant and I was just a little underwhelmed. The wine selection was decent but the food was a bit sub par. We had the scallops, the burrata and the lobster ravioli. They were all decent but they certainly didn’t wow me. Our server was very lovely though. Hope things improve as you go…

We absolutely loved our meal at at Is That French and could not have asked for a better last supper in Vancouver. If you love oysters, wine, and French food in a cozy at atmosphere this is the place for you. Is That French is a hidden gem! Our server, Shauna gave us amazing wine and food recommendations. They hit the nail on the head with every suggestion. We cannot recommend this place enough!!

The food is very interesting with lots of combinations that I wouldn't have imagined. So it was great to try some new things. Stand out dishes were the agnolotti, burrata, sourdough bread. Most interesting dish was probably the radishes. The wine list looked interesting, but I was underwhelmed with the actual wine flavours. We had a flight of almost all reds by the glass and not one stood out as a "must find and buy for home". Tapas is probably the most expensive way to eat relatively little food, so it's not an inexpensive evening out. What was vexing is that the credit card machine tip choices start at 20% and go to 25%. I'm not a cheap tipper, but I find it presumptuous to ask me for 20+% on an already expensive bill, including taxes. Happy I tried it? Yes. Would I go back? Prob not.

Listen if you're tired of trying to get into St. Lawrence and Anna Lena then please try Is that French! It has a gritty atmosphere off of Blood Alley and the staff don't fit the Earl's Girl look which is just fine. The menu has mind blowing fusion of scallops with Montreal smoked meat!.... Bone marrow and crab.... all at priced which could easily be 50% higher and still be value. Wine list is Canadian but thoughtful and also great value.

The dishes were AMAZING. They complimented the ingredients so good, everthing was really fresh and tasty. Their uni toast is to die for. The chef and server was really attentive as well. We went for a birthday so we also got a comp cheesecake - which they made in house as well. Really worth the money. We will definitely comeback again! Thank you so much!
