The Islesford Dock Restaurant & Gallery is just that - a restaurant and gallery on a dock on Islesford, Little Cranberry Island, Maine. We have a large greenhouse right out back that produces a good amount of our produce, source our lobsters from the fisherman's co-op just next door, and use Gulf of Maine seafood almost exclusively. The menu is rounded out with naturally raised meats and chicken and the service is casual but professional, warm and inviting. Make sure you get out to Islesford Dock while you're here in the area by taking the Beal & Bunker mail boat that makes multiple trips back and forth every day or take one of the several other tour boats out.

We are closed Mondays throughout the Summer. Starting in September we will be open for dinner service only, and we are closed Mondays and Tuesdays. Season ends October 1st.

Super unique experience with excellent local fare. We used the Cadillac Water Taxi service off-season and the 30 min boat ride is as enjoyable as the stunning sunset and good, wine and cocktails.

Wonderful Labor Day weekend meal on the water! Oysters and mussels great! Cheese biscuits a bit overrated- seemed to come from a frozen batch. Ask for a table near the windows!

Great location and ambiance. Salad was good, but the hamburber was very well done when I ordered rare. Others had a similar experience, though the oysters were excellent. It's an adventure, but you can't count on a great meal as you could in prior years.

Incredible evening. The experience was great - we used the ferry and a water taxi for transpiration & our so glad we ended our trip to Acadia at Docks. We loved our trip, we were visiting on our 1-year anniversary trip from Iowa.

We have been coming here for many summers. The food was as good as ever. Wonderful local oysters, fabulous beet and chevre salad that was just the right balance between tart and sweet. We both had scallops which were perfect in all ways. The wines by the glass are good selections and reasonably priced. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because we had a 35 minute wait for our main courses after the appetizers were removed. Another minor issue: I had an Open Table confirmation but the restaurant had no record of the reservation. They quickly fit us in and were apologetic about it.

Have been going for years there, this was the first time since the pandemic and well it was just as good if not better. Love the online reservations and the service as was the food excellent. The fact that most of it sourced locally reflects in the great pricing compared to other places. Yes bit harder to get there but worth it.

We have been so pleasantly surprised by this amazing restaurant. We are staying on Little Cranberry Island (Isleford) and we’re initially a little disappointed that there was only one restaurant. Not we’re we wrong! The staff is attentive and informative and the food is amazing! We have had some great meals (lazy lobster and an amazing lobster burrata salad —what’s not to like?) and had brunch this morning and plan to go back tonight for dinner. Definitely a hidden gem. We sat outside the first time and enjoyed watching the activity on the dock. We sat at the bar last night and then had brunch this morning overlooking the water. Highly recommend this restaurant. Make sure to stroll through the galleries and the Winter Work shops. So many talented artists on the island. Best oysters and lobsters anywhere. We love it!

This was an adventure from start to finish and much research was involved. We started with locating the ferry schedule that would take us over to the Island and making sure there was parking at the dock of Northeast Harbor. We then had to locate the ferry when we got to the dock (end of concrete pier). It was a beautiful, but slightly pricey trip ($35 rt). The restaurant is the only thing at the dock in Isleford so you can’t miss it. The food was ok but not great. I recommend the cheesy biscuits and you can’t go wrong with a whole lobster (you are in Maine after all). Service was great. Everyone was very friendly and attentive. We almost missed the 9:30 ferry back because they pick up at the restaurant dock rather than where they dropped us off. It was a the last ferry back to the Maineland and it was a party boat- music, lights and dancing( if you are so inclined). On the boat ride back, we also got to see a few Perseid meteors streaking across the sky since it was so clear out. It was nice to get away from the crowds of Bar Harbor for the day but you have to have at least a 3-4 hour window to experience this adventure.

We loved it! Unexpected delight. Seafood was fresh and delicious, and we had perfect weather for a night outside on the dock. We also really like the drinks. The service was kind and attentive. We will definitely be back.

We enjoyed a perfect summer afternoon on Little Cranberry, highlighted by our meal at IDR. We shared everything: an Allagash White beer, beet salad, kelpie bowl, and two desserts (secretly ordered by my husband)—the must-have fruit crumble and the lemon square. The beet salad was substantial as well as delicious and the pickled vegetables made the kelpie bowl stand out. Don't be in a hurry when you go there—the service was friendly and helpful, but a bit slow; on the other hand, it was also wonderful to linger by the open window looking at the scene over the water.

Taylor my server was excellent! The food was very good, clam chowder the best I’ve had yet in Maine! I had a bacon cheeseburger, came with awesome herbed fries and the best dill pickle I’ve ever had! Kudos!

Another terrific dinner at the Dock! The waitstaff are great; laid-back and friendly in attitude, while prompt and attentive with their service. Fav cocktail- sea glass martini. The food is very good, freshest oysters, creative specials and reliable classics- lobster, burgers and chowder. Best sunset the world over. Cheers.

Wonderful service and wait staff. Food was mostly delicious. Halibut was perfect. Berry crisp was out-of-this world. Asparagus was tough, though. Great dinning room and ambiance. We will definitely be back again.

Beet salad was good if not memorable. Ribs and halibut were well done. Seared tuna salad was excellent. Fries were very good. Chocolate trifle dessert was terrific! Very noisy and table conversation was difficult to hear. Ambiance can't be beat. Great views of Mount Desert Island.

This restaurant was a fantastic experience for those looking for a less-touristy dining experience while visiting Acadia. We took the mail ferry out to the restaurant (the only business on any of the nearby islands). The food couldn’t be fresher - seafood caught just off the island and produce grown in their greenhouse. The staff was excellent and all the locals were extremely friendly. Hearing about life on a remote island was quite the experience. We also enjoyed looking around the gallery of local paintings. While the meal and two round trip ferry tickets were on the pricier side, it was truly an unforgettable night.
