   This dining experience was exceptional from the excellent attention and service to the delectable food. Mexican food is my favorite and this blew my mind. The flavors were unlike anything I’ve had back in the US. I highly recommend lx kool!

   This place is amazing! We have traveled to Cozumel twice this year and made it the first stop both times! Their margaritas are varied and perfectly mixed. The table side guacamole is the best I’ve ever had and we live in Texas, so I’ve had my share of guac. The food is prepared and served beautifully. We have not been disappointed by anything we ordered but our favorites are the ceviche and the octopus tostadas. Don’t miss this jewel!!!

   Great authentic Mexican cuisine. Portions are normal. The service was great. The location is a bit weird but worth it. Perfect spot to go to get away from the standard tacos, quesadillas and fajitas.

    This is such a wonderful yummy spot. The location is tucked back in the center of the Plaza - Apple Maps and Google Maps each have different directions (several blocks apart) so it took an extra few turns and head scratching to figure it out. But it’s totally worth it! I was with my family with 2 children (11 & 7 years old). We ordered table side guac and sikil p’aak. For our entrees we had eggs with Chaya, cochinita pibil tacos, pibil mushroom tacos, and pipián pork. It was all delicious! One of the most reasonably priced meals we had. Juan was attentive, a great explainer of the menus options, and helped the children practice their Spanish. A+ experience

    The food was spectacular, every dish was perfectly balanced with layers of flavors and depth. The drinks were delicious, though pretty mild (liquor wise). The ambience was the only let down. It’s beautifully furnished, but the lights were white fluorescent type lighting, giving an overall flat and sterile feeling. Kind of a mood kill. I think the atmosphere could really improve by just replacing with warmer bulbs. Nonetheless, I would definitely return as the food was just so amazing.

    The staff were welcoming. The food was flavorful and presented to highlight the colors and textures. It was delicious and a relief from all the Mexican bar and resort food. It was authentic Mayan food and they took pride in each dish!! I will return next trip to Cozumel!!

    We spent a week on the island, and our experience at Ix-Kool was at the top! Juan and his team were so good to us; the food, the history, the drinks & the value were all top-notch! Highly recommend you find the time to eat here & experience Mayan culture & learn about the history.

    This truly is a unique experience. Many of the flavors were familiar, but the way each dish was constructed, expertly cooked and presented made them very special. As with many of the best cuisines in the world, the sauces bring a dish together and ix kool did this beautifully. We chose a little more heat in the sikil paak starter and were not disappointed. The tamarindo margherita was excellent, the staff was extremely helpful in navigating the menu and a fun group as well. Also had one of the best octopus dishes of our lives that was only rivaled by the grilled octopus from the Mediterranean region. A must for anyone visiting Cozumel!

    Well, we were looking for something different. We found it. Juan was an excellent host and showed around the kitchen and the techniques of the authentic cooking style. New tastes, friendly atmosphere. Delicious food. Ix kool is defined as "cornfield." Will be back again. Highly recommended.

    Odd location for a restaurant but beautiful decor. Quiet inside. Food was delicious and unique. Drinks were tasty as well. Worth a try for sure.

    My family of five loved Ix Kool for the quality of the experience, the wonderful service, and the uniqueness of the food. While they had excellent classics like tableside guacamole, where you could pick you add ins, they had so many interesting dishes that were both meat and vegetarian based. The mushroom tacos were the best I ever had, the soups were great, and the pumpkin seed dip was amazing to watch them create at table side. Our teenager and young adult really enjoyed their dishes and even my 7 year old loved the shredded pork taco, although we told her it was chicken, ~smiley face~. And actually I was surprised at the reasonable cost for a family of five totally stuffed with soup, appetizers, entres, unique drinks and this amazing corn cake with coconut ice cream devoured in seconds.

    Everything was perfect - such interesting dishes, wonderful waiters who take pride in their work and food. It isn’t cheap, but worth the cost!! Will definitely come again.

    The food was tasty. I enjoyed the videos explaining the ingredients and method of preparation of the Mayan foods. Waiter was very pleasant but then a large group arrived and all went to assist them. The noise level also dramatically increased as the space isn’t really designed to absorb noise, so it became too noisy for other patrons.

    The food was unbelievably good! The guacamole, made right at the table, was some of the best we’ve ever had. The ceviche was delicious. We had various main course entrées that we all really enjoyed.

    It is easy to see why this place has such good reviews. The food is unique and delicious, and the waitstaff makes the experience both educational and pleasurable. We ate there twice in our four nights on Cozumel.

    Amazing food! Amazing staff! Decor is lacking and location is tricky but again fod is great! We had a kiddo with us… As I was a bit challenging, because the food is rather seasoned and a little bit more intricate than what the kids pallet is.

    Absolutely one of the best meals I’ve had on my current trip to the Yucatán. My partner and I found this place online. It is extremely apparent they care about the history of the food as well as the quality. I can’t recommend this place enough. Frfr. I am going to go home and try to recreate them. Staff is amazing. You’re a fool if you don’t try this spot. Insane! <3

    The service here was great and they treated us like family. Pretty amazing for a place that must see a LOT of rude tourists. The food was absolutely AMAZING. The flavors were fantastic, and we enjoyed every bite. There are foods here that you just can't get in any other part of the world. There was a sauce that they made right in front of us with traditional methods. Honestly it's making my mouth water just writing this review. HIGHLY recommend taking the time to try this restaurant.

    We went here on our cruise because of all the great reviews and didn’t want to eat at Margaritaville in Mexico… It was very authentic and fresh ingredients. The food was amazing and we highly recommend.

    Amazing, authentic food, personal service but unfortunately the ambience isn't great. It's really bright and they have a big screen tv on with footage about the local dishes which is great but not ideal for a dinner out. Great staff, freshly made guacamole in the molcajete is a fun experience. Panuchos de Cochinita Pibil and the pork in black sauce is out of this world.
