Jack Astor's - Toronto (Front St.)
In all seriousness, we take real pride in our food. Try our Cluckin’ Fresh Chicken Fingers, made and seasoned with fresh, never frozen chicken tenders. This isn’t run-of-the-mill pub grub. Our Band of Chefs are influenced by a wide variety of tastes and have travelled across the globe to gain inspiration.
But outside of the kitchen, we find it hard to take ourselves seriously. We’re sports fanatics, music nuts and love a good joke. If you’re into at least one of those things, we should hang out.
Thurs - Sat: 11am - 2am
Please be advised that we do not take reservations prior to any game or concert that may be in the area. We leave our entire dining room, patio, and lounge free for you to walk in and get a table.
This location used to be very fast, and the food was very good. On the last visit, we found our service slow and the food to be mediocre at best. Will consider other options next time.
Our experience was negatively impacted by a table of 15+ 20-somethings who were VERY loud.
Many looked barely legal drinking age and a few had too much and were yelling instead of talking.
The restaurant is too noisy for me. I wonder if there could be a quiet section.
Blue jays game with mother in law.....service was slow at the beginning...wasn’t too busy but then got a bit better
Enjoyed our leisurely business lunch. Waitress was great. We did not get rushed out. Open table didn't really work but I was there in plently of time and staff was very accomodating.
Really liked how close it was to the train station since I came from Windsor just for this meeting returning the same day.
The restaurant was clean, the food was good, and the service was excellent.
Jack Astor’s is always a good place to every moment of your life, the only complaint that i have is: when i got in the front desk they haven’t found my reservation in the system, but anyways they gave us an outside table.
Overall the service was good, food was good and loved the patio
Great Food & Service.
Awesome Patio that is vibrant and always busy.
A reservation is necessary (Especially if there are ACC or Rogers events).
However, there's always room at the Patio Bar.
Our waitress was outstanding. We sat on the patio. Food , drinks & atmosphere was perfect for the pre concert.
Excellent service. Seated quickly and servers were proficient.
This restaurant is reasonably priced and while it’s not haute cuisine they have an inventive varied menu and food is consistently delicious. The service is always great and the buzz is usually the right level for the time of day.
Disappointing start with no cheese available for the pan bread. A favourite starter at any Jack's. Initial server was friendly but, we were served by multiple staff members throughout the meal which unfortunately did not lend to a more welcoming atmosphere. It was not busy but having a time written on the table when we sat down was also an odd, rushed feeling. Overall, food was good and average but understandably so, as was the experience when factoring in service and atmosphere. No severe complaints, but won't be returning or recommending. Thank you
When dining at Jacks - stick to the chicken fingers! I am eating Keto which is really hard to do at Jack's. The Carb temptation is off the charts and the salads are expensive for the quality - $20 for a salad? I ordered the roasted double chicken breast with skin with I think something called dirty rice. They kindly substituted the rice for a side salad....so not sure how this can be cheaper than a Caesar salad with chicken.....anyway it was really greasy and pan fried - not roasted. I eat a Jack's at least once a week for lunch....I will stick to chicken fingers and figure out how to burn off those carbs quick!
Good dependable place for lunch. Fast friendly service, decent food and the volume is not too loud for a business discussion. I had the curry chicken bowl and it was decent but nothing special.
I did check in at the reserved time so I don’t know why you said I didn’t.
Shannon was an amazing server! She was very attentive, made recommendations and made the meal a very enjoyable experience. I would definitely come back.
Good meal after evening event. Chicken fingers were not as hot as usual. Otherwise was quick and tasty meal. Very busy location.
Our waitress was the best!! Attentive but not over bearing. Real not phony!
We all tried the new Cheesy menu. A couple of us tried the cheesy burger which includes a deep fried provolone cheese patty on top of the burger. Another ate the grill cheese chicken sandwich. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal. It was difficult to takes the burger over the cheese but I would say that is a bad thing. Definitely have to go back again before this cheesy menu disappears.
Took son to Leaf game
Got a phone call from Jack Astors day before reservation telling me that Open Table should not have accepted reservations for a Saturday night. Both you and tthe restaurant should get your s#!#!t together.
We had a great meal. When paying the bill i gave a voucher which in turn the waitress showed me on an i pad what the amount would be but never gave me a hard copy. She said our table was closed out and could not produce a copy for us.
I paid with a business card and kinda needed a receipt
Our server “sheldon” was excellent. Beer selection was excellent. Having the reservation was great.
Good food and good value; service fast at outset but then we had to ask for the bill (twice), then the machine to pay the bill.
Darcy, new waiter did amazing! It was his first day and I believe we were his first clients. He was very pleasant, super friendly and very knowledgeable about the food/drinks. After working downtown for 10years and attending this location many times...I gotta say this was the first time it was a wonderful experience because of Darcy.
Alex was so friendly and made our lunch a great experience!
Was greeted by a really up beat host and our server was on top of our order and not annoying at all. The place was packed but service was quality and quick!
We had tried to book JA on Dundas Square but were unable to get a Saturday evening reservation. This one was further away on Front Street but the place was very busy when we arrived. Excellent burgers and a very varied choice on the rest of the menu if you don't have a preference for burgers. Service also very good. Would definitely eat here again when in Toronto.
I have to be honest with you in that, for me and several other colleagues , the music is simply too loud. I frequently went to the dartmouth crossing location in Nova Scotia but have stopped going over the noise level. I took some out of town business colleagues one evening as well and it was too loud that evening as well. They all commented on it and have chosen not to return again, going to Moxies instead in the same location. That has meant just with our group that gets together the night before two days of meetings 4 times year that a lost opportunity for 4x$600 spends. My inlaws will not go either anymore as well. I know you want to appeal to the younger generation but when everyone comments that Jack Astors is so loud and can we go somewhere else , I believe you need to rethink the music volume you you keep.
Went to the restaurant for take out, when I was about to receive my food the female bartender had a concern with the food, but the male bartender said who cares it's take out. When I got the food it was cold and I don't believe it was Jack asstors food as I ordered a burger and received a double patty burger that tasted like fast food. This experience should have been reported to upper management
The chicken fingers are really good but not sure why they charge so much for wing sauce on the side. We had a high table booth on this trip and it was really uncomfortable. Food is reliable and good and staff always accommodating.
The server was excellent and really on point about making sure I was okay and I was happy with everything even though it was just me and I was by myself. She steered me away from something on the menu that could have wound up leaving me dissatisfied when I asked a couple of questions and we settled on a much better alternative. For what it is Jack Astor’s is a tad bit expensive but it’s still good food. It’s noisy but that’s to be expected on a Friday night after 8. Will definitely be returning.
The food was great, the service was good too but unfortunately I did not realize until I got home that my child was charged the adult meal vs the child meal. Unfortunately I live uptown and was only down for the Raptors game otherwise I would have gone back to complain. It's a great hot spot that's for sure and if I ever come back down for an event I will definitely return.
Great food and service. Pre Raptors game feast.
Staff are always pleasant but sometimes hit or miss: not enough attention or too much attention. Food is pricey but consistent and they do have the best chicken fingers!
Chicken Fingers are the best and the staff are always pleasant.
How long does it take to get a glass of wine? It's called lunch hour for a reason. After a lengthy wait, I was told the wine on the menu was either not available or was not cold. She finally offered a (more expensive) substitute. I found my meal to be bland, covering it in soya sauce improved it somewhat.
Had ordered bottle of wine. When server went to pour glass I said oh the glass doesn't look that clean! She said oh, it's on the outside . 😐Well do you still want me to pour it? Omg really?
Good fresh food would recommend to all Demon friend
