It was our first time! Not as amazing as I heard it was. Far too many salad options. It was good, but not super memorable. Not sure if we would go back… for lunch that is.

We arrived with everyone else that had a 5:30 PM reservation (which is when the restaurant opens.) We were a party of six getting dinner before our theater outing and things began well with cocktails and bread offered and brought to the table. Things got a little slow after that, and we began to worry that we would not make our performance on time but a quiet word with the wait staff was responded to immediately and all’s well that ends well! Our orders were taken, and our food arrived in plenty of time for us to enjoy and to depart for the theater. Jack Fry’s is a solid choice even when you are in a bit of a hurry!

I simply can't say enough about Jack Fry's. They have never disappointed throughout our visits which, up to now, have involved most of the menu and that includes the dessert. The most recent visit happened as a suggestion during Friday drinks. We got lucky with a online table reservation and showed up as fast as we could walk. Our service was outstanding and the food was perfect. Wine, drinks and desserts were just as special. If you have been to Jack Fry's then you know exactly what I'm saying. If you're thinking about that first visit or making your next reservation, then have at it. They are simply one of the best here in Louisville. Cheers !

Jack Fry's is my favorite restaurant for special occasions. I love the old-time ambience, excellent cuisine and impeccable service. The filet is one of the best I have ever had, and I can't wait to try the lamb chops!

What a lovely dining experience at Jack Fry’s! Our wait staff was very attentive, refilling drinks & taking our order promptly. The food was superb from the appetizer to the dessert. We ordered the spicy fried oysters, brie salad, beef filet, scallops, & special turtle chocolate mousse for our meal. The spicy fried oysters & the grits served with them were divine! We almost ordered a second batch because they were so good!! The brie salad was also very good with the unique flavor of the vinaigrette & the brie. The filet was cooked to perfection & so tender & flavorful. The scallops were buttery & delicious, too. The dessert was simply decadent. Oh! & the cocktails! We had a variety, & each one was yummy. We absolutely recommend Jack Fry’s to anyone coming to the area!

Jack Fry's holds a special place in the hearts of long time "Louisvillians" and it did not disappoint. Even if you can only get a (ridiculously) early reservation at 5:30, it was kind of nice that it was quieter and the service was perfect.

I travel extensively in the USA and Europe with exploration of culinarily destinations as my goal. What a shock that I would experience the finest dining experience in a restaurant in Louisville Ky. Four of us were dining and from the appetizers to dessert not a single selection failed to impress. Appetizers shrimp and grits, raviolis and fried oysters were intensely favorable and each had a creative flare. For a middle course we shared the bucatini (with added shrimp) which was delicious. Entrees included pork chops and scallops. Both superb but the overall star was the lamb chops. Dessert was equally impressive. Our server Steve was amazing. Made serving seem graceful and effortless. I would never visit Louisville without dining at Jack Fry’s.

This so far has been our best dining experience here in Louisville. The food was great as was the service. The drinks were creative and awesome. We went for lunch a little late so the place wasn't packed but we really enjoyed it as well as looking at the old pictures on the wall. If I had more time we would try the dinner menu, but that will have to wait until the next trip.

Amazing experience! Walter was our server. He was great and gave us the details on all of the new items on the menu! He recommended a great drink - the Highlands Southside now a new favorite! We ordered the New Corn Fritters, Escargot and the Short Rib! We finished off with dessert cocktails! Service was second to none thanks to Walter! Would absolutely recommend it and the live music was a plus! Ambiance was great and loved the old history of the place.

It was incredibly loud, one of the loudest restaurants I’ve ever dined in Louisville. I couldn’t carry on a conversation with my wife from the large, loud parties crammed in all around us, never mind the room’s acoustics. The food was 3/5 at best, there is better food and values in Louisville. We wanted to get dessert but left because of the noise. I’m far from cheap when dining out, but this was a poor value and NOT an elevated dining experience.

Everything was just perfect including all the staff who we talked to or served us. The food was delicious and the wine recommendation was superb. My grandson, 8, has a dairy allergy and our waitperson maid sure he had dairy free chicken nuggets and dairy free bread with olive oil for dipping. It’s my daughter’s favorite restaurant in Louisville and now I know why!

We have been dining at Jack Fry’s for years and always have a wonderful experience. The only thing I would change is the noise level - it is extremely loud and difficult to hear the person you are with and servers. However, you can hear everyone else’s conversations in the restaurant. I think this is a combination of acoustics and loud talkers . My watch at one point alerted me that the volume was 90 decibels - 😳 That being said, the food, drinks and service are always outstanding.

My brothers were in town for a few days, and we decided to have lunch at Jack Fry's. We are all retired and hadn't been there in years. Plesant atmosphere, good service and excellent meal. We will be back.

We were in town for my husband's birthday and reserved a table on OpenTable. The experience starts as soon as we entered. The atmosphere was wonderful and relaxing. I told the host that we had a reservation and she asked if I was Angie, when I acknowledged I was she looked at my husband and wished him a happy birthday. I have made several reservations over the years on OpenTable and stated special occasions, but no one has ever mentioned them. Lauren was our server and when she came to the table, she also mentioned his birthday. We order the Manhattans, and they came with my favorite Amarena Cherries. I mentioned how much I loved them, and Lauren brought me extras with the next drink. My husband had the Filet that was cooked so perfect he said it was like butter. The escargot was amazing also. I was sad that I was on a diet but couldn't resist soaking up the butter sauce with the bread. We had ordered dessert, but Lauen brought a special birthday cake out also that my husband just ate up. Everyone was so nice from the busser to management. The entire staff made for a birthday that my husband is going to remember for the food and service above the bourbon we came to Louisville to sample. Thank You to everyone.

We had a delicious dinner last night but the noice was deafening! We sat at table 19 which we thought might be a little quieter than the main dining room but wasn't. We realize that you can't control the loud conversations. We wish you could! Walter was our waiter and he took good care of us. Perhaps the next time we will order carry out and eat in our quiet car.
