   Simply the best. Impeccable, attentive service from a friendly server. They sweat all the details. Their iced tea was wonderful. We had the pistachio encrusted salmon. It reminded us of the food we were served at Mama’s Fish House in Maui. It was so good. The chocolate bomb for dessert was the perfect dark chocolate conclusion to a great meal. The prices seemed quite reasonable for the value delivered. Without hyperbole, this may be the best restaurant dining experience we have had in Kentucky since moving here 15 years ago. They’ve been in business for 90 years, so they gotta be doing something right!

   A who’s who of Louisville history. Charming, cozy atmosphere. Stopped here for lunch and enjoyed one of the most perfectly-cooked hamburgers I’ve ever had—delicious—chased with a perfect Old Fashioned.

    Jack Fry's is a staple in Louisville and has amazing historic value in the city. But unlike some paces that are a must have, the food, drinks and service here are impeccable. The bone in double thick cut pork chop, the appetizers like the fried oysters and Brussel sprouts are to die for. Must go to Jack Fry's when in Louisville KY.

    I have been to Jack Fry’s dozens of times. I have never been more disappointed. Our server was indifferent at best and rude at worst. It was not very crowded with only 5-6 tables at lunch time. The menu was much more limited than I remember but I could live with that. The delay for each course of our meal was unacceptable. When we inquired for a 2nd time for our main course, our server was not polite, not understanding and very short if not very rude with their response. Our food was fine but nothing to get excited and certainly not worth the cost. I have always considered this the best restaurant in Louisville, but my most recent experience has me questioning the value.

    Nicole was the greatest server, making us feel right at home. My husband and I split a Brie salad and I made a mistake ordering mine with almonds, which I can't have. My replacement salad appeared almost instantly. Our entrees were wonderful, Bucatini and Shrimp & Grits, and my Gallant Fox Gimlet cocktail was so good, I had two (luckily I wasn't driving)! The Creme Carmel dessert was melt-in-your-mouth delicious with a creamy texture and great flavor. Everything was prepared perfectly, with care and with the freshest, most delicious ingredients. We wish we lived in Louisville, just so we could eat at Jack Fry's often.

    Delicious flavors. The short rib and swordfish were slightly dry/overcooked but the seasoning and sauces were on point. The server was pleasant but seemed very busy and we had to hunt him down when our salads came out without dressing. I drank the Chablis and it was amazing. It was very loud, but the piano player was matching the energy in the dining room, which was a nice touch. The decor is quaint and interesting.

    Our server Will made our dining experience outstanding. It felt like we were the only table at the restaurant even when it was a full house and a Monday night just after one of the busiest weeks of the year. The food and beverages were great. I highly recommend dining at Jack Fry's.

    I had dinner with friends, and one of them was the first time for the restaurant. It was a usual great experience. We ordered three appetizers, one salad for sharing, and entrees individually. It might be because of the derby week dinner; it didn't offer a special menus for the night. We enjoyed the night!

    NOT VEGETARIAN FRIENDLY! If your taste are on the vegetarian side go elsewhere. Jack’s is a bit pricey for what it is. Not the restaurant it used to be.

    This place is run the way restaurants should be run! Superb staff, lots of servers, fantastic food all explain why this small Highlands jewel has been in business for 90 years! Easily one of our top 3 restaurants in town….highly recommended!

    Finally able to experience a place my grandmother used to frequent during WWII. Had a wonderful birthday lunch. Started with a glass of Fritz Zimmer Riesling, entree of Shrimp and Grits, topped off with the Dark Chocolate Bombe. My family member said the Chicken Salad entree was the best she had ever tried. She also topped her meal off with the Apple and Pear Napoleon. Could not have been more pleased with our visit. Will be back on future trips to Louisville.
