    The service was top notch, the salad was lovely, but the salmon was a bit overcooked and the mashed potatoes tasted like instant. However, the asparagus was perfect and the beurre blanc was delicious. Excellent wine.

    When you visit a restaurant with servers who have made careers out of working at Jake’s for 10, 20, 30 years, you know you are in for a great experience. Jake’s never disappoints. Thank you, Julie, for your exquisite service.

    There were ten of us, six adults and four kids 11, 10, 8 and 7. Our server was so attentive and paid special attention to the kids. It was my wife’s 65th birthday and the menus were printed with Happy Birthday! We have been here many times, but plan to come more often!

    We’ve gone to Jake’s for 30+ years for the Crab Sauté and it was and continues to be fabulous. Last night we also had a Wedge Salad and French Onion Soup which were both delicious. Out biggest disappointment was the Calamari appetizer which was done well but the two dip/sauces included ruined the dish for us. One was a simple from—the-bottle cocktail sauce and the other was called a Sherry Aioli which both my husband and I hated. When asked if there were any other options, we were told “no”. Very disappointing. Our server was delightful. Kyra (sp?) and she brought a complimentary sourdough roll which was warm and delicious. Our only issue for giving Four-Star review rather than five was the dipping sauce for calamari which may be subjective. Take for what it’s worth. No one does a crab sauté like Jake’s!!

    As always Jakes has great food. Good choices and the prices are very reasonable. When making the reservation we always request for a certain area to sit and they always accommodate. The only issue this time I had made a reservation for 7 pm. We arrived at 6:45. The host had us wait by the front door till it was 7 pm. I walked by the area where we did sit and there were 5 tables available. It was a little annoying to wait when you knew there were tables available.

    We’ve never had a bad meal at Jake’s. The food and service are always wonderful. The service (on this particular occasion) was less than great, however, and we waited a full hour before we received our appetizer. The rest of the meal came within a reasonable time after our appetizer but we were disappointed with the amount of time that we had to wait.

    Food and service were very good. The trout with almonds was wonderful, but the chocolate mouse will keep me coming back.
