We had a new year’s eve lunch at Jamavar and everything was outstanding. Superb food, great service and we were surprised with the set menu that was not only incredible value but incredibly delicious! Jamavar is now going to be a regular visit for us.
As usual, it is a pleasure to eat here!
Très joli endroit
Nourriture excellente
Service top et super accueil
Waiter Avlon Fernandez was outstanding with great suggestions from cocktails to desert. The soft crab & lamb chops were delicious as described but the scallops are “not” part of the featured menus & were exquisite. The salmon, butter chicken, lentil, spinach & naan side dishes were also very well prepared & desserts delicious & well presented (tasting menu). We opted out of wine choices but had a great bottle of Touareg National (Churchill) after superb cocktails & glass of Pinot Grigio. The ambiance was very good (not loud) on a Friday even when packed.
Excellent food! Tried the Lunch special menu !
Very nice and reasonably priced too !
Great service too !
If you're going to ask us to leave as we're still eating our dessert, because you want to turn the table, you should tell us that in advance. Off-the-chart rude, and not worthy of returning. You made more money that night, but you now have us telling everyone not to visit your restaurant. Dumb and short-sighted.
Nali biryani is not nali biryani. I travelled a long way for this.
Also butter chicken was very sweet when told it should be spicy
Yet again a spectacular meal, with fantastic and friendly service. Not inexpensive, but on the basis you get what you pay for, it's still massively underpriced for the whole experience. Already thinking of an excuse to make the next reservation.
One of the best
👍 worth it
Soo good. Can’t wait to be back. Quality of food was devine!
Starters of kid goat and prawns were as good as we have eaten in any of the top end Indian restaurants, decent sized portions as well. We both had the main of lamb shank which again was excellent. Our waiter was well informed and carried out his work in a friendly efficient way. All round a very good meal.
Exceptional service, food and setting. No detail is over-looked. The food is excellent, flavorful drinks and attentive service. I highly recommend this Mayfair gem for lunch or dinner.
Great restaurant - delicious food and excellent service.
This was our second time dining at Jamavar. It is a lovely and cozy restaurant just off Berkeley Square. They had a early dining special until 18:30, with 3 courses for £30 and 4 courses for £40. We chose the 4 course dinner. We started with the Tellicherry and Garlic Soft Shell Crab, followed by Adraki Lamb Chops and Malai Stone Bass Tikka. Both were superb. As a main course, we both chose the Sindhi Methi Gosht (kid goat) and were very pleased. Dessert was the Rhubarb Chuski Falooda.
Overall, some of the best Indian food we have had, either in London or India! With a bottle of wine, dinner came to £70 a person.
Jamavar is a up market dining experience without the uptight atmosphere. It's a chilled and relaxed environment with a very good vibe, it the type of place you'd go to have quality food, we came away really pleased from dining at Jamavar. We'll be heading back to try some of the other dishes they have on the menu.
The atmosphere is really amazing, especially cozy after the sun goes down. A great tasting menu with service that is attentive without being too much. Very well done.
Great service, fabulous food, delicious wine.
Great food as always, nice atmosphere. Excellent value for
Money
As always, spectacular friendly service and exceptional Indian cooking made for a wonderful date night with my wife. From the Samosas through to the mains of melt in your mouth sea bass. Thank you Jamavar for another great dinner
We were seated at a comfortable table on street level, and received friendly and excellent service. Jamavar’s food is outstanding. We’ve dined here now a half dozen times and never been disappointed!
Excellent food and service, will be revisiting!
Wonderful service , attention to detail was exceptional
Food was amazing
Best Indian food outside of Delhi
We did the tasting menu with the wine pairings and it was fantastic in every way. Super high quality without becoming gimmicky. I saw a review that raised the issue of heat, we did not find that to be a problem at all.
We love Jamavar always amazing food and this time we sat downstairs which wasn't bad at all. Great service and once again yummy food !
One of the best Indian restaurants in London. My one apiece if advice is to inform the server of the level of chilli you like.
But the food is amazing. The whole menu is.
Everything was wonderful. The staff was attentive and friendly. The service spot on. The food was absolutely amazing!
Food was not too great. Very spicey but nothing too amazing.
Really nice
Very friendly and attentive staff.
Excellent customer service combined with delicious food and a nice ambience!
Food and service were both impeccable!
As always a wonderful evening with amazing cocktails and food
The food was good but the amount in each portion is so little, we order boneless chicken for starter it came only one piece and one piece of potato.
Lovely ambience, service attentive but not intrusive & food sublime - full of flavour, exquisitely spiced & ‘á point’ as to ‘heat’. Arguably the best cuisine of this kind I have EVER had (and that includes over 40 years’ extensive experience - in Birmingham & Leeds/Bradford, as well as London). I shall DEFINITELY be back!
The best Indian restaurant that I have enjoyed in London.
Overall we enjoyed our meal, the food was delicious and we were guided politely through choices by our server. However, the service was slow and a bit cold and functional which really sums up our reservations about our experience at Jamavar. The tone of the evening was unfortunately set from the beginning when the maitre d' took us through two floors of an all but empty restaurant to a table next to the kitchen doors and then expressed surprise when we asked if there was another, more appealing table available. No surprise to find that there was! This is an expensive restaurant in London's highly competitive restaurant market which we concluded really needs to make its guests feel more welcome in order to justify its prices. We will not hurry back.
Very tasty and pleasant atmosphere
The food tastes good but the portions sizes are not very filling.
I felt the price was too high for what you get.
