    The atmosphere of the vibe the overall presentation of the restaurant is really nice. The wait staff were attentive and helpful the food was really good. I had chow mein was wonderful. Looks like they have a fair amount of beer on tap. I had 1911 Little Brown jug. If I had only one complaint it would be that there were too many tables for the space. And if they removed a few of the bar stool tables, it would be perfect. Also parking is kinda of a nightmare but that's not the restaurants fault. Just give yourself like 15 minutes to find a parking spot. And maybe still be prepared to walk. But it's hit or miss.

    The meals and drinks were delicious. The drinks are very expensive ($15-$20) a cocktail. The noise level is very energetic thus hard to have a conversation across the table in some table locations. Staff very friendly. Vegan and vegetarian options.

    We had dinner before the theatre. Service was great, as was the food. Good portions and very tasty. We'll be back. The noise level was up a bit but wasn't a problem for table conversation.

    Service was great! Our server was wonderful! We had small plates. The Mango Pesto Cauliflower was very good! The Taco Del Pollo -- was okay, and certainly priced too high at $19 for the quality. We then had Poutine. Poor! They came under cooked. They brought us a new batch. They were not in-house made fries. In some spots the cheese was cold and of course not melted. We can make poutine better a home. Not sure we would return!

    First time at James Ave Pumphouse and will definitely be coming back. Everything was delicious, the Sans-gria was good and the Tropic Like It’s Hot (snoop inspired) was delicious. We had the twice fried chicken as an appetizer, amazing. Then our mains were the Birria style beef dip and the BBQ pork Banh Mi, excellent. The curly fries could’ve used a bit extra time in the fryer but that could be personal preference. Overall amazing time, vibes were great and service was top tier.

    Loved the atmosphere , good menu ,very tasty ! With the open concept in the restaurant it can be a bit loud at times but love the decor ! Our group had a great dinner , server was very friendly and so great with recommendations!

    Enjoyed lunch with friends. Had never been before but love the look of what they've done with the old pump house. The staff were very attentive. The food came quickly and portions were perfect. We really enjoyed the view of the old pump house equipment from our table. Not a lot of people in for lunch so the noise level was non existent, made conversation across the table easy. Have already booked a reservation for dinner before RMTC theatre.

    We went for a quick lunch date, and the atmosphere was great as always. Lots to look at and on a Sunday not too busy so it was quieter than normal. The braised beef tacos were really good and so was the sizzling chicken chow mein. Portion size was perfect. Highly recommend.

    Our waiter was excellent and our spot next to the pump viewing area was also wonderful. It was noisy but to be expected with open space and very high ceilings. We shared small plates and a sandwich and all were tasty and excellent. The Flatbread is an especially good priced item. The cocktail were also fabulous but be warned - they are extremely pricey. I'd say $5 over priced at least. We did enjoy them but probably can't afford to have them again. The price of 2 cocktails is the price of a meal! I'd go back for sure. Had a great experience!

    The cocktail were amazing, the food was so good. It has to be one of the best if not the best vegetarian friendly places in the city as this is to only place I’m excited to eat tofu at. We finished with the ube cheesecake and it did not disappoint.

    The beef dip is great! I get it every time. Their peanut butter dessert is delicious too. I wasn't a huge fan of the poutine though. It can also get a little too loud in there.

    First visit. Really enjoyed it. All four of us loved our food. Great atmosphere and service. The only thing I would suggest is that you allow people to make reservations by phone.

    Wonderful location and to fully see the Pumphouse equipment was fantastic. The food was terrific and a great selection on the menu, also good value. The service was outstanding and the restaurant and washrooms are fully wheelchair accessible. Thanks for a terrific dining experience, we will be back again soon. Lloyd & Susan Schmidt

    Has the coolest interior - modern yet historical but perfectly integrated. The food was AMAZING! So delicious and very reasonably priced. It was busy but surprisingly not noisy. Highly recommend this venue to others.

    Unique ambiance of the place is priceless. Worth every penny at least once! We stopped for light lunch before going to WAG, soup and beef tacos. Very, very disappointing. Broccoli soup tasted as if it came from a can, could not taste broccoli except for few almost raw rocklike chunks. The soft tacos were soggy and totally unremarkable. Except for the price. Very, very disappointing. Who ever prepared our lunch does not deserve to be called a chef. Our experience was saved by wonderful service we received from Celia? She saved the restaurant image, made our experience enjoyable in spite of the food and deserves a credit for it. Celia, hope I have got your name right. Thank you!

    Host changed our area of seating per our request. Very accommodating. Food was delicious. Our server was extremely busy and failed to come and ask if we needed anything or how everything was. We had to flag him down to get our bill. Otherwise very satisfied and will return.

    Based on previous ratings of other restaurants in Winnipeg and our experiences there, this is perhaps one of the best restaurants in Winnipeg. Great atmosphere and built inside the old 1930's fire pump house, there's plenty for both the eyes and the palate. Fresh and creative

    Really cool ambience and environment. Historic building well restored creating a fun eating experience. Food was decent and reasonably priced. Souvlaki really should be paired with rice tho, not fries. Should have been an option. Our waitress was really busy as well. First time I’ve heard we needed to wait for drinks as the bartender was so busy. Given the margins on drinks it would be worthwhile having a second tender to get those drinks out. A good experience over all tho

    Great food during happy hour….the chicken tacos and double double were amazing but watch out for the hot sauce with the tacos. Loved the Pumphouse Pilsner and the experience was great aside from the noise from patrons when the restaurant was full. Would definitely be back!

    Went there on a busy Saturday night and watched them turn a lot of people away who didn't have reservations as the place was packed. Our server was polite and attentive but somewhat aloof (which we actually like). Food was fantastic (I had the Chickpea Chicken Curry and my wife had the Dan Dan Thai) and a manager (?) asked us before we left what we thought and how everything went. The place is quite noisy likely due to it's high ceiling and the history behind the building and location is fascinating. Would definitely recommend.
