Jamie's Italian - Square One
Located in the south expansion, the restaurant has a relaxed, vibrant atmosphere with an open kitchen, cozy bar and outdoor patio making it the perfect place to enjoy a business lunch, drinks with friends or a family meal.
Amazing experience, wonderful food and staff so pleased!!
While the food was EXCELLENT, and lived up to my previous experience with Jamie's Italian on a Royal Caribbean cruise ship, the service was lacking.
I had made a reservation with Open Table, and mentioned that upon arrival. The gentleman who seated us didn't seem to care. He tried sitting us in THE WORST spots on the practically empty restaurant. We kept asking for a better table, and he just said, they are all for reservations still coming in ... well WE MADE A RESERVATION TOO ! We finally found a table we liked and told him we were sitting there.
Our waitress was ok, no complaints, but she was very low energy, and seemed to want to rush us.
This was my birthday dinner, and we didn't want to rush. But nobody there cared.
I love the food at Jamie's Italian, but the experience was not great. I didn't even want to stay for dessert.
It was really too bad ...
Food was great. Service was very slow
Service was poor. Took an hour to get drinks alone
Food was good, however if you don’t care for a lot of garlic let them know. Our pasta dish was prepared with a lot of garlic. Other than that it was pretty good and I would likely try it again.
Was excited to go to one of Jamie’s restaurants. Our waitress was great but overall service was slow despite the restaurant not being busy. The food was good but not noteworthy. My pasta was undercooked - less than al dente which was a surprise. The overall tastes were good and the kids were happy with their food and dessert. Overall underwhelmed by the whole experience but maybe that was partially a factor of having big expectations going into the meal.
Overall it was great. The panacotta was hard and overset and difficult to eat texture wise.
Service was very nice, food was delicious. Good value
Thanks for getting us the special dessert for my sister in-law’s 40th birthday dinner. That was an awesome thing to do despite us being so full on mains and starters. We had no space for dessert. But this was really a sweet gesture. Thank you again
The appetizers, spicy meat balls and crispy calamari were average. Very small portions. The margarita pizza arrived cold. Not very good. Did not finish.
Our server was very nice and competent. She was the only highlight of our visit.
I often eat at jamie oliver’s and I rave about it to my friends, but after my experience at Square One I have realized that only the Yorkdale location meets my expectations. The service was horrible, our server often forgot our order, when we asked for items such as utensils that were missing from our dish we waited at least 10 mins for it. Given that My friends and I were the ONLY ones in the restaurant. The food was over salty, we waited 20 mins for a soda, and was only asked how we were doing once during out entire meal, at that time we had empty dishes on the table and it was not taken away until we called for the bill. Only when we called for the bill was the service fast and efficient. When I asked for a recommendation of coffee the waitress described what each coffee was but didnt give her recommendation
Good service with good food. Chairs and booths are uncomfortable
Taste less food no choice and very limited non innovative options
Like really 2-3 different fries with some spice powdered sprinkled on it,
We returned to Jamie's because our first visit, weeks earlier, the food was amazing! This time I order the same dish but was REALLy disappointed. The ravioli was floating in a bowl of water with a bit of melted butter. It was like soup. The waiter was good, he took it away and brought it back with a more creamy sauce, although the portion seemed smaller, and tasted nothing like I expected based on the first time I tried it. Unfortunately, after that experience, I would not recommend Jamie's. I would hate for a friend to have a similar experience based on my recommendation. Consistency is key. I'm not even sure we will return, despite the excellent service. If the food is only mediocre then no amount of service or ambiance is going to make up for that. It actually makes me sad because I thought I had found our "go to" place. C'est la vie.
Disappointing from the start. The hostess knew nothing about open table so she had the manager intervene. The table wobbled badly so me moved. The waiter was very friendly and obliging. The food was mediocre at best and not what you would expect from Jamie Oliver. Maybe that is why the chain in Britain went bankrupt. Peroni beer was not available and had not been for a week. The only other tap was not interesting.
The only complaint I have was the margarita pizza I was was very bland didn’t have much flavour. And didn’t seem like the margarita pizza I’ve had before with tons of flavour.
But other than than everything else was amazing.
Thanks for providing such great service
The food is always so awful. No flavour
The food and selection at Jamie's Italian is very good. My only complaint would be that service takes awhile to get to you (and this has happened on a number of different visits for me). Service warmed up over the visit, but did start a little cold at first.
Given the atmosphere and menu, I would recommend - but make sure you have a good amount of time to spare!
Love the food this time! I think it is interesting that I am being asked to provide feedback on my experience about this restaurant given that the last time I went there, I provided feedback which was not favourable and absolutely nothing was done about it. My belief is that when you ask for feedback as a restaurant, the restaurant needs to be responsive and do something about it. At least acknowledge the feedback. None of that was done!
Food is mediocre at best
The food was excellent but moderately overpriced for the portion that I had. My wife's was a good size and so was the kid's spaghetti and meat balls. I ordered a Black Truffle Gnocchi that was amazing but the portion size did not match the price of it. Overall the staff there is awesome, the food was great and it was a very relaxing place to have dinner before going to see a movie with my family.
Food is good and the price is reasonable.
Staff are wonderful / really take care of the customer
I was there with friends celebrating my birthday. I ordered dessert and it came nicely packaged. Was kinda surprised to find that the dessert was charged and not treated as a special gesture.
Wonderful food and the service was spectacular. We had a lovely time celebrating our daughter’s graduation. We will be back!
We were one of the first people seated at the restaurant. We have been there two or three times prior. It was disappointing to find they no longer have the speical dishes on the blackboard. We ordered two pasta dishes and they were both very salty. That took us by surprise because we don't recall the dishes being so heavily salted. We still love the restaurant's atmosphere and the friendly staff.
Our waiter was amazing! Food was delicious. We totally enjoyed it!
Food was really bad, and menu wasn't very appetizing. Would not recommend to go here.
Our server was polite and patient. Our parties were late but she did not seem bothered by it and was always accommodating. The food was quite good. The place was full and there were steady patrons at the bar. The place is casual and yet quite elegant enough for a good date, too
Delicious and well priced. Not quiet but not super noisy. Staff were attentive. Wanted to take our time so ordered cocktails and appetizers before placing order for our mains, but appetizers arrived well before our cocktails which was unfortunate. Overall though loved it and we'll be back
Excellent anniversary dinner, food and service where amazing!
Birthday dinner Great servers , my requests were taken into account .
Meat platter for 2 was not great at all not what I had expected especially for the price and description on menu was not good . Other guests said pasta was good .
I love this place, I always come back because of the lovely vibe, friendly staff and amazing Italian food.
It would be helpful to have smaller plates and dishes for toddlers under 3 and the level of service could use improvement.
Overall we had a wonderful experience.
Surprisingly good food and very good service but the poor review is based on the fact that when we arrived (on Mother’s Day) for dinner at 6 the host said “did anyone tell you we have a 2 hour seating limit? We will need your table at 8”. Firstly, nowhere on OpenTable did it say that, nor was it in the message the restaurant left to confirm the reservation. So, while it is totally acceptable for restaurants to set whatever policy they want, not communicating it is not ok. Secondly, the place was half empty by 7:00. They were not turning over any tables. Good food but really bad customer service experience.
This is my 3rd time to dine here, I had a very good experience in the past but was disappointed this time. I am in a wheelchair and I am not satisfied to our assigned table. We were in the middle of the dining area which was not suited for me, there were still available tables which is more accessible.
Food was excellent. Ambiance was great. Our server was beyond awful. If he could have been even a little pleasant, our experience would have been much better.
Excellent service as we had to go to Mississauga Performing Arts and had a limited time frame. Food was delivered fast and was very tasty. One problem is the noise level very high so hard to hear conversation.
Steak could have used some sauce but employees were accommodating and found some at request. Overall, great atmosphere and staff.
The waiter was really good and very accommodating! The manager also checked in after we discussed the meal with him to make sure our dining experience was still going well!!
