Jamie's Italian - Square One
Located in the south expansion, the restaurant has a relaxed, vibrant atmosphere with an open kitchen, cozy bar and outdoor patio making it the perfect place to enjoy a business lunch, drinks with friends or a family meal.
To be honest, I was underwhelmed. I was expecting more. I don't know why. I chose a simple dish, the Gluten Pasta with the Bolognese sauce, which was delicious. My husband's dish, the seafood capelleti was ok, bu the portion was smaller than expected. He ended up eating some of my father-in-law's dish (he had the regular Bolognese) which was very generous. My husband and I had a side salad to start. I was surprised the my husband's side Caesar was $4 more than my side salad (the server did let us know it would cost more).
I guess I was expecting extra little touches. Even some garlic bread or regular bread to start.
We don't go out for dinner often, and when we do, we pick restaurants that really excite us. Looking for high quality food with delicious extra touches over frequency of dining out.
I wouldn't go back, when I have other great local restaurants that provide us with better experiences.
We always loved Jamie's. It's always our go to when our friends and fam get together. My husband and I were really excited to get out and have a great night with amazing food (from experience). This time around, it was a huge disappointment. My vegan pasta was bland and my husband's clam pasta was overly salty. My friend's pasta, the carbonara, which is what she always orders (she NEVER orders anything else frm the menu) was asking for so much water because her pasta was also super salty. She was also excited for her dinner but was hugely disappointed. We kept switching just to help balance our taste buds. We drank so much water to bring down the saltiness. Lol Felt like my blood pressure was skyrocketing. But we were so hungry. The food took forever so we just wanted to eat.
We've always had amazing servers from before. This time, not sure if she was new but she kept saying she was having a really bad night. She kept saying sorry after screwing stuff up. I felt like suggesting (since I used to be a server) to not let people know how her night is going and to just keep it professional with a smile. Just a tip as an ex-waitress. It was topped off with a receipt split up-screw up. She just kept saying I'm having such a horrible night. It was the first time we had a mediocre night at Jamie's. Hopefully, I'll have a better experience next time. Fingers crossed.
Was great- the waitress was super accommodating and the food was amazing.
The pasta was not good. Tasteless and bland, served room temperature. The service was good to try to accommodate and remade the dishes for us... second attempt was nice and warm, but still lacked flavor with a watery sauce. For the price, would have expected better so wouldn’t return. But kudos to great staff for trying to make it a great experience nonetheless. Appetizers were delicious for what it’s worth!
Awesome. Food was spectacular
We went for a meeting among friends we had not seen in a long time and had a nice round table near the back of the restaurant, very nice, not too noisy. The service was good and the food was very good. We really liked the flexible table d'hote where you could pick 2 or 3 selections. The charcuterie board was specially nice!
Great server and food is always good!
Ordered spicy sausage penne and was not spicy at all and Pasta was undercooked. Sauce was a bit bland. Service was ok.
Arrived on family day weekend with our two small kids... service was friendly and fast! Great promotion for the long weekend meant the kids are free which really added value to a meal we would have been happy to pay full price for! Kids loved the meal options as did my wife and I. Would definitely return when we are back in Mississauga.
We called for a table of 10 but restaurant advised it was not possible until after 10. We cut our party down to 6. From 7:30 pm until we left, we observed many open tables which could have accommodated our group of 10. In addition, we were seated at a table next to the door where the cold was excruciating. There wasn’t a good selection of drinks or wine. The food was ok. Do not order the salmon. It is a small sliver of fish served on a bed of onions regardless of the description on the menu. The server selected his tip percentage instead of allowing us to choose how much we wanted to tip him. It was an absolutely horrendous dining experience. I would not recommend the JO brand to anyone.
Portions could be a bit bigger, especially starters and sides. Smashed potatoes 👎🏼
All else very good
Spiced fries 👍🏼
Server was excellent and very attentive and responsive to our needs. Food was was good. Not as hot as expected when served. Drinks good. Restaurant very noisy and music was far too loud and made conversation difficult:
It’s a very clean restaurant. Plenty of staff to attend to your wants and needs. Colin is outstanding! Super friendly and accommodating. The food was good, i didn’t expect too much as it was my first time here. Love the ambiance and the lighting. Would definitely recommend to a friend!!!
The Italian food and service was good ! The value was poor for the surroundings given the high price. Seating was Mc Donald's style for a $100.00 dinner. Other places in Sq. ONE charge the same price however have a more comfortable and better acoustics atmosphere. I hear the chain is in trouble. Would NOT eat their again given the same price for the local competition.
Amazing fresh food. Excellent service. Will definitely be coming back.
Service was great. The staff and waiter we had was very friendly. We didn't wait long for the waiter to come to take our order. Food came out very fast from the time that we ordered it. The only thing I didn't care for were the tables, they were so close to each other. You were basically seated in a long bench with tables put in front of you. I prefer private seating where you don't hear the conversation going on with the couple sitting beside you. Other then that, Jamie Oliver's provides great service, great food!
I ordered shrimp linguine and considering that I cook myself at home, to my taste it was too acidic and nothing special.
Very comfortable, server checked in on us a lot to make sure everything was going well, food came at a good time and was delicious. Great date overall and there was even a nice tea candle for ambiance. Definitely recommend and get the pizza!
Watch a tonne of Jamie on TV.
Like personality and strategy toward quick and healthy cooking.
Was really excited to go and support his endeavour.
Restaurant was really nice.
Was not busy at time we went.
Food was good.
9oz ($19.50) glass of wine was likely less than 7 oz.
9oz ($11.25) house wine was maybe 8 oz pour.
Beer "pint" not near a pint.
Dont mind 'paying the 20' for a decent glass... but felt ripped off, and for that reason will not go back.
Loved my steak and fries meal, my partner had the truffle pasta and it was very plain and unsubstantiated. My children were quite pleased with their meals. All servers to the table were knowledgeable but I did have to ask for a steak knife.
The salmon was delicious and cooked perfectly. The superfood salad was good but unfortunately the chicken addition was overdone and dry. Brittany was a fantastic server--attentive and helpful. She offered us a complimentary dessert (a tasty lemon cheesecake) which was very much appreciated.
Jamie's Italian is a great place to meet and entertain friends and family. We had invited a friend of ours with his spouse and we enjoyed everything at Jamei's that evening. Thanks
Great food as expected. I would go back for sure.
Went for dinner with some friends, server was nice but also off. Food was decent, took forever to bring the bill.
Pizza was delicious
I went to the one in Square One, Mississauga. I have been to the one in Yorkdale mall. I would say that I liked the one in Yorkdale mall more. The atmosphere was quieter so we could talk without shouting and the restaurant more intimate. Square one is more lively and energetic. The food was good, and we both enjoyed it. We were looking forward to getting the 2 course meal, but sadly it was not offered on the weekend.
A nice place, with pretty decor, high ceilings and a varied, pasta heavy menu. Vanessa our server was terrific. Music volume was high and a bit annoying. Overall, I’d go back
Went for date with my girlfriend . Great service from hostess to server. Manager even came out to ask about our food . We both have dietary restrictions and they accommodate both without hesitation . Portions was good with price . Food came out in a reasonable time. Would definitely go again .
Ordered 16 ounce glass of beer. The wasnt 16 ounces. The taste of the food was ok. Mary the server was great. The desert didnt look good at all. The price was high. Wont be coming back.
Our server is the best!
Food was good. Service was awesome
Music was too hyper for eating
We like this place. The food is great and service is amazing. We came kids (3 and 5). The menu includes kids items. Great experience overall.
I have been to Jamie's Italian many times since it opened. Unfortunately, my experiences there have declined over the years. Initially, it was excellent with excellent, if somewhat slow, service and great food (PEI beef) burger or calamari with the lightest batter anywhere served with lots of hot pepper slices. For several visits we really enjoyed it. Then the quality began to decline. There were menu changes, the PEI beef disappeared to unknown provenance. Although there are daily specials, the menu appears largely the same over the past few years. This visit was our last, the calamari was coated in a much thicker batter, it was thick chewy slices with none of the smaller calamari with crispy tentacles, as in the past, and was served with one thin slice of a finger pepper. The other order to the table had four. Take hot peppers out of the description. The pasta dishes were ok but not brilliant. The service was ok but more focused on upselling than service. It feels like a refresh is in order.
The food was not great the pasta was over done and what I expected to be a spicing Italian sausage looked and tasted like basic ground beef which is was not supposed to be.. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. If going to that mall REDs or Earls are much better.
Although they were very busy we were well attended to by our server and the manager. The pasta was cooked perfectly not overdone. Given how busy it was we were treated very well. Will return again.
Our servers ROCKED!
Give Jamie a big kiss from two Scottish ladies, we had a wonderful time, food was great, server was so nice, I want to hear back from Jamie when he is next in Toronto. been watchin him since he was the naked chef. how many years ago is that? We had an awsom time..
Ann Menzies. We will be back.
It was an amazing experience. The food was awesome and so was the service. Our server Mel was really sweet and very knowledgeable about the menu. The only criticism I would have is that when I made the reservation I mentioned that it was our Anniversary. However that was not considered or brought up at all.
But overall it was our first time at the restaurant and we had a very pleasant Anniversary dinner.
Had a family birthday, the server was very nice but clearly overworked. It took a long time to get our food, and a long time to get our dessert. However, very warm, friendly servers and hostesses and I would recommend to others and come back again.
