   I had reservations for a birthday dinner at Javier's. Having seen pictures online and all the good reviews I was so excited. When we arrived the hostess informed us that they were running about 15 - 20 minutes behind, which is no big deal, so we went to the bar to have a drink. Except, we sat at the bar for 20 minutes and didn't even get eye contact. The restaurant itself was way too loud. My fiance and I are not quiet people by any means but we couldn't even have a conversation sitting next to each other because of the noise. I'm not sure if it is the layout of the restaurant, but it seemed to echo and amplify all of the noise. It was busy, so obviously it's going to be loud, but it really was unreasonable. After 20 minutes of sitting with zero service coupled with the overwhelming noise, we left and went to a different restaurant. I assumed because it was a Wednesday evening Javier's wouldn't be too busy but that was not the case, it was packed as if it was a busy Saturday. Going forward I will likely only come here for lunch to avoid all of the crowds.

   It's expensive, but the quality of everything, from the steak in the tacos to the margaritas to the staff hospitality is pretty amazing. I'll definitely be back.

   I would recommend this place! The margaritas were amazing, particularly the tamarindo and pina margaritas. The ceviche was delicious and the atmosphere was just gorgeous. Service was awesome! We will be back for sure!

   Delicious food and cocktails but don’t you dare send anything back you did not order because the server AND the manager will tell you yes you did and and it’s “your word against mine” 😂 I’ve never in my life had this happen. Nor have I ever had to send anything back before. I ordered steak and was brought chicken. Not the biggest deal in the world but I literally only have ordered steak fajitas my entire life. My fiancé and I even had plans to split them with the enchiladas he got. They not only told me I was wrong but refused to take it from the table when the new item was dropped off. Paid for both.    Javier's is our favorite fine-dining Mexican restaurant in San Diego. From start to finish, the food was excellent. The beverages were excellent as my husband ordered the Black Mamba (his favorite) and I ordered a Jalapeno Margarita (my go-to). The chips and salsa were provided at the start of the meal and the salsa was so good, we requested another round. We ordered the shrimp ceviche and shrimp empanadas to start. Both were excellent. For our entrees, we went with shrimp enchiladas and seafood pasta (shrimp, crab, and scallops) and finished our meal with the tres leches cake. Overall, the meal was excellent and the service was just amazing. We felt like we were in Disneyland where we were catered to our every whim and when we dropped something on the floor, our items were picked up, and replaced with clean utensils/napkins within seconds. Our table was constantly cleaned and maintained, water replenished and any beverages we ordered were also replenished upon request.

   Great amount of seating and generally nice decor. Food is a bit too expensive for what you get. Quality and quantity are okay, I just feel like you can get similar quality food for maybe 20% less. For their current prices presentation of the food should be more elevated. Noise level is too high for a resturant.

   I use to love this place and felt like the cost was worth it. It has been about a year since I have gone and now I don’t believe the cost is worth it. Front desk girls are a little rude but the services staff is super nice. The food and drinks are over priced to be packed in right next to another table, having a conversation makes it hard because the the table right next to you can hear everything your saying. I won’t be going back. Your paying for the vibes and the expensive cars out front not for the food or quality.

    Javier's food and service was wonderful! I got the Halibut fish of the day and my husband got the chicken milenesa, both dishes were delicious. We were in an odd table of 2 in between 4 person tables, so that is only reason I gave 4 stars and it was awkward to talk because the noise level was very loud.

    I love Javier’s.. the food is very good but somewhat overpriced for lunches. The service and venue is amazing. The staff is kind and considerate and we had a very enjoyable meal. Truly, the only thing I can think of that would be a consideration, would be lowering the prices for the lunch menu., but overall definitely a beautiful presentation.

    First time to Javier’s La Jolla UTC; started out with queso fundido with chorizo & some taquitos; queso fundido was Ok at the very best, definitely needs more chorizo for the high price your paying, taquitos get the 5 star rating on appetizers. With then moved to main course, order crab enchiladas which were awesome & the 3 mexican sampler plate which consisted of 1 beef taco, 1 green chicken enchilada & 1 cheese chile relleno, enchilada was the best of the 3. No tap beer @ Javier’s, so we order a Pacifico & 1 jalapeño margarita, that was good but a little spicy! One sip of the margarita & 1 sip of water, hahahaha. Location, service & restaurant get a 5 star, beautiful decorations, but the food gets a 3 star; definitely way over price for not so great Mexican food. If you want awesome Mexican go to Old Town, if you want overpriced & not so great Mexican then come here. Once again, location, service & restaurant very impressive! too bad food needs much more taste to it.

    Definitely a great choice for Mother’s Day Dinner! The staff was so friendly and there certainly wasn’t a lack of staff either. This is a breath of fresh air given the circumstances of the last few years. Drinks were constantly replenished and all food was brought out on time as well.

    Our server Emily C was amazing! We had a large party on Mother's Day plus it was also graduation day. Emily ensured we were kept up on when our meals were coming and was able to keep our drinks flowing on a super busy day. She could be seen asking the busser to clear tables and kept all her tables happy. I don't think we would have had such a great experience with someone else.

    Love dinning at Javiers. Great service. One negative; must tighten dress code and require guess to dress casually but classy. No baseball caps or due rags admitted. Decent pants & shirts if you want high dollar clientele to keep coming!

    We came here for Mother's Day. It was jampacked! There must've been 300 staff members working that day. It's a well oiled machine, I can give them that. The food is pretty good. The price is absolutely outrageous. There is no way that a quesadilla should cost $25, but here we are. It was an enjoyable afternoon and everybody's dish was really good. But at nearly $300, it's not something I will return for.

    The food was delicious. The service was poor/mediocre. We were a party of four. Water refills did not happen unless asked and it was difficult to find someone to stop to ask. Only one cup of salsa was provided for a party of four. Chips were not provided for the Ceviche we had to ask and they didn’t provide them until over half the appetizer was gone. Tortillas for the meal were not provided for one of our party and the party who did receive tortillas only received two. The server didn’t come by to see if more was needed until halfway through the meal. The Mole Chicken, delicious as it was was eaten with no tortillas. Our server was kind but obviously spread too thin. For the price, I’ve had better service at Taco Bell. I probably won’t return.

    Didn’t read the fine print that your entire party needed to be present prior to seating, but even when the entire party arrived we had to wait an additional 15 minutes to be seated. Restaurant ambiance was nice, but very noisy so if you plan on having a conversation this is probably not the best place to go. Food was ok at best and over priced.

    Food was really excellent! My server was amazing, Emily, however everyone else, particularly the male servers seemed to walk a very fine line between attentive and pushy. On multiple occasions they approached to clear the table, and when I would let them know that I was still “working on it” they would give me surprised looks and stay there as if I was joking. Also, once we had dessert, we were still talking and a man (higher ranked than a server based on his clothing) came up and asked us “who is going to eat the last piece?” I thought he was joking but he just stood there until we decided. It was so uncomfortable, I went for half a piece and then he literally said “there’s one more piece left” I was stunned. Paid, tipped because Emily is not at fault and left frustrated that I didn’t speak up at that moment, but really it had been too much.

    El lugar cuenta con terraza al aire libre, la decoración esta muy linda. El sabor de los platillos me agrado. Lo unico que me gustaria que mejoraran seria que el servicio de entrega de comida fuera mas rápido, tardaron mucho en traer los platillos, de ahi en fuera todo excelente.
