    Staff is very friendly. However, the food was mediocre at best. The striploin steaks were not up to your usual standards. Very disappointing since we were there to celebrate a special birthday. I use a walker and the entrance doors are extremely heavy and require assistance to open and close - ditto for the washroom. My partner had to move a chair at our table so I could fit at the table. Definitely not a good locale for people with mobility issues.

    Experience was very disappointing. At time of making reservation, I would have appreciated being informed that there would be a wedding reception occurring in the restaurant at the same time and not in a separated room and we could have made a decision to book or not. It was hard to carry out a normal conversation due to the noise levels from the wedding reception. It’s not the wedding party’s fault but the venue!

    Have been going to this restaurant for many years and have always enjoyed it. This visit, however, I was treating friends to a night out and was not pleased. One of my friends ordered the strip loin steak, which I have had before and it was wonderful. This time, unfortunately, the piece of meat was barely 1/4 inch thick. I have never seen a strip loin so thin. I was embarrassed that I had raved about this place and then my guest was served this most odd steak. They did not want to make a fuss so nothing was said at the time. So disappointing after so many previous positive experiences.

    It was mine and my sisters birthday celebration dinner and we both ordered steak which neither was cooked to what we ordered, my sister ordered medium and it was well done and I ordered medium well and mine was as so dried out it was not enjoyable. The 2 orders of ribs were good, the jambalaya, and hamburger; was also good. The service was reasonably good.

    Made reservations for Dining Room area, and a special occasion. First taken to Bar area, I stated reserved Dining Room area for a special occasion. They reluctantly found a table in dining room area. No mention of special occasion. Service adequate, meal good. Occasion feeling ruined.

    Everything was very good. Two members of our group had ordered steaks and when they were served they were overdone. We reported this to the staff and they reordered the steaks. They were perfect the second time around. We appreciate their attention to this matter and their politeness and professionalism. Thank-you.

    Went to an early dinner, service was great then slowed a bit as it got busy which is reasonable. Food is excellent as always! They used to have a poutine but no longer on the menu. Asked to see if they would make it, they said yes but came out with the generic cheddar cheese and not the curd. Was disappointed but taste still good overall. They ended up charging each part of the poutine separately, fries for the full price even tho it was happy hour. Gravy and cheese had individual surcharges but not really enough for it to be called a poutine, which made it a very expensive dish overall. Other than that, food was amazing as always and server was attentive. Definitely a gem in the neighborhood for food!

    The ambiance and food was great, the waiter/waitress feels like they are rushing us. We still want to order dessert but when the waiter approach to clean our table, we were rushed and we decided to have dessert at other place.

    Great family restaurant, I'm always shocked it's not more crowded/busy, because the food is great and so is the service. Hidden gem in East York, my family and I always come here for celebrations or when we're looking to connect.

    Food was good, as usual. The JB burger and mild wings are always a bit as well as mud pie for dessert. Service was slow and a bit inattentive (not usually the case). We didn’t even get a water refill.

    The staff were fantastic! The service was great! The fireplace should have been on. The menu could be improved. The burgers & steak sandwiches are too thick and too hard to eat. EVERYONE who eats there says that. They can’t be held to eat. Please change that. Please. You’ll get more business if you do.

    Great food, good prices. Screaming babies beside us and we had a server who seemed unhappy, manners were not her strong suit but we tipped generously because we felt bad for her. We don’t expect more at this family restaurant.

    We found everything enjoyable, good food, great service, friendly servers. My only concern was no toilet paper in the washroom. I found that the main course came far too quickly while we were having our appetizer. But overall it was great to be back at Jawny Bakers. Thank you

    This place is a gem for familys. True family dining experience, parking at the back and ample space+great atmosphere for everyone. They have a bar, lounge area and dining area+private rooms. I would come back here with friends and family, as we celebrated Valentine's with our little daughter and she was happy as can be there.
