   Nice restaurant with good ambiance, but food overprices. Cheese board looked like joke, espresso tasted lake no espresso. Guinness was Guinness.

   Overall the service was impeccable however, although it is indeed a Jazz spot, it was so hard to speak to each other and the quality of the food for the value was not up to our expectations. The service was great and the people were very lovely! I’d definitely come back but maybe just for a quick drink!

   I have always enjoyed the Jazz Bistro. I brought my Partner and some friends there recently to celebrate his Birthday. The Mark Eisenman Jazz quartet and the ambiance was superb. Unfortunately the Red Snapper was rather over-cooked and our server was not always available. Other than this, we had a splendid evening.

    We made a reservation for 2nd floor and were seated in the main area. We weren’t told beforehand that there was a $15 cover per person. The menu did not have even half of what is shown online and portions were very small. The food was okay and the live music was good, just disappointing to have extra costs that we didn’t want or not have much of a food selection that I was expecting.

    We had a table on the second level overlooking the band, next time we would prefer the ground floor where we would have truly felt the atmosphere. Food wise, we both had the steak which was perfectly cooked and our server Mel was very attentive and friendly. Wine list was small but had a good range. Cocktail list was good too. We will be back….. a good place to go for a date night!

    We were looking for a scene that had jazz with some good eats. Jazz Bistro met this. Our server was superb and the music always creates the evening mood. Food was above adequate and could have some choices that mirror that of cajun and what one expects from the US south. Definitely a must when staying a few nights in the city.

    Jazz is one those rare spots where the team seems genuinely committed to you having a great experience. The service is consistently above average, the food is always spot-on and the live jazz pianist adds that something special. Simply perfect!

    Why isn't this restaurant full for pre theatre dinner? We had wonderful service, delicious food and live piano jazz throughout. Their signature Snapper & risotto was so flavourful and the veal cheeks so tender with a perfect sauce. Prices are moderate for downtown Toronto.

    Unfortunately they do not have "Chicken Ceasar salad" option. They do have ceasar salad, but if you ask to add chicken on top, the server will make you purchase the noodles and chicken full meal.

    Wait service was very disappointing. Although food arrived in decent time, after we had finished we never saw our waiter again unless a different waiter eventually cleared some dishes. Water was filled on a fly by but we were not asked if we would like desert, coffee/tee or another drink. Waiter had to ask about a cocktail and what daily soup was. We could see the waiter spending a good amount of time on his phone. Clearly not interested in his patrons

    The music and atmosphere were fantastic but the kitchen was clearly overwhelmed and the staff not very accommodating. Was a busy Saturday night but my food arrived only after an hour, it was the wrong order at first and then came back slightly changed but cold. Will come back for the live music but won’t plan to eat there again, I think

    The venue is very nice and cozy. The service is decent. The music was fabulous. The food was okay yet quite pricey. I’m a little bit disappointed they don’t have a great vegetarian selection. Other than dessert there were only one or two meals I could get. And the menu on Open Table is outdated. Some items I asked for they didn’t have.

    The layout, decor is beautiful. The music was excellent. The staff were very nice but clearly some were still learning. The food was a big letdown. I had the sea bass special, my wife the gnocchi. For dessert we had the cheese cake. All of it was very disappointing especially given the price point. If the food was improved we would make this a regular destination spot.
