The bone-in filet, the 7 cheese baked macaroni, creamed spinach, truffle flake, & of course Jeff Ruby's secret recipe cheesecake are all staples of the Louisville menu.
Styled after the great NY steakhouses of the 1930s & '40s, Jeff Ruby's promises to be as pleasing visually as it is to the palate. French art-deco design, plush mohair upholstery, hand-selected antique furniture, and cinematic crystal chandeliers anchored by a 1950s-era antique are featured in the Starz series Magic City and the 32-foot wall of wine.

During a recent visit to Jeff Ruby’s Steakhouse, I had the pleasure of experiencing one of the most memorable dining experiences I’ve ever had. From the moment I walked through the doors, the ambiance and attention to detail set the tone for what would be an unforgettable evening. The food was nothing short of spectacular. As a steak lover, I was eager to try their renowned cuts of beef, and I was not disappointed. The filet mignon was cooked to absolute perfection—tender, flavorful, and melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The sides, like the creamed spinach and crispy potatoes , complemented the meal beautifully without overshadowing the main event. Every bite was a testament to the quality and care that Jeff Ruby’s puts into its cuisine. However, as remarkable as the food was, what truly elevated the night was the service. Our waiter, Nick L., was beyond outstanding. Words honestly fail to capture how incredible he made the entire experience. From his extensive knowledge of the menu to his impeccable timing and warm, personable demeanor, Nick went above and beyond to ensure that every aspect of our meal was flawless. He had a way of making us feel like we were the only guests in the restaurant, without ever being intrusive or overbearing. It’s rare to encounter such a high level of professionalism coupled with genuine care, and Nick exemplified this balance perfectly. In addition to the food and service, the atmosphere at Jeff Ruby’s was equally impressive. The decor is elegant, yet inviting, with just the right touch of luxury to make you feel special without being pretentious. The soft lighting and sophisticated music in the background created an ambiance that was ideal for a fine dining experience. Overall, Jeff Ruby’s Steakhouse exceeded every expectation. The combination of exquisite food, top-notch service (thanks to Nick L.), and a superb atmosphere makes it a must-visit for anyone who appreciates an exceptional dining experience. We had an amazing server named L’Oréal. Her suggestions were spot on. She is a top chef and social media influencer in her own right ( not to mention serious motorcycle rider) we had one item - steak- that was way over seasoned and thus took out the true flavor of the steak but she and the manager made it right for us. Service by them was what we all were used to in the 70’s where the customer experience is #1 priority. Definitely you need to eat here

We love celebrating at Jeff Ruby’s!! We were there for our 18th wedding anniversary. The service was great and the food was amazing! My only thing is I wish we would have gotten a special dessert with happy anniversary on it. Other than that, we loved it!!

Both the food and the service were excellent as always. Our group was seated in the bar area and was a little noisy which is the case at some restaurants. The main dining area in back is quieter. Excellent experience overall though.

Excellent food quality and impeccable service. We sat in the bar area at a high table and it was a little noisy which made conversation slightly difficult with people farther down our table (group of 8). Otherwise absolutely no complaints. Steaks were universally loved at our table (great flavor and seasoning, cooked properly) and carrot cake and butter pie received very high marks for desserts—large servings and shared.
