Jeffrey's Restaurant & Bar has been an Austin fine dining institution since 1975. In 2012 the restaurant closed for a major renovation and was reopened by McGuire Moorman Lambert Hospitality. The legendary restaurant, nestled in the Clarksville neighborhood just west of downtown, features a lively bar and three distinct dining rooms. The courses are light enough that we were able to have the souffle for dessert. The staff was efficient and cordial. A/C was perfectly comfortable. The only knock I can think of is the website said they have no valet parking (if I read it right) when actually they do, so we had a healthy pre-and post-meal walk, lol.

What an exquisite experience! Classy environment, attentive service and a superlative menu. The new Truluck’s downtown failed to acknowledge that a core luxurious dining experience isn’t set with an antiseptic, 20-somethings dance club atmosphere and hotel lobby finish-out but with what patrons will remain loyal to in an experience rooted in quality dining and what one envisions when imagining an elevated dining experience. Truluck’s misstep is Jeffery’s further gain with a lived up to their reputation of attentive servers, polite and unassuming support staff who recommended the correct pairings to round off our Truffled Deviled Eggs, savory Petite Loin and deceivingly potent cocktails! What a gem of an establishment! Can’t believe I grew up around here never visiting until now. Highly recommended!

Another great evening at Jeffrey's and many in the past. Continues to set a high bar. Great waitress and overall service. Great food. Good ambience and noise level, as so often a blaring noise and music level in best restaurants in Austin making for a marginal experience. Fortunate enough to have had a long time friendship with the founder Jeffery W. and he would be quite proud of the continuing level of excellence the restaurant has been able to maintain.

It was my husband and I's wedding anniversary. They had a note with "Happy Anniversary" and two glasses of champagne. Nice touch! We ordered a bottle of Rose, caviar, the porterhouse (we split) and mash potatoes. Everything was amazing! Service was exceptional. Recommend it highly!!

My wife and I enjoyed our Anniversary Dinner at Jeffreys. The Valet was a nice touch when we pulled up, the food was thoroughly enjoyable. The ambience was nice, the service sharp & informative and generally the staff were very pleasant. My only complaint was during Checkin, the Hostess (tall, auburn hair) appeared to have a negative attitude. We arrived, gave our name to barley a response or eye contact. I tried to make some conversation about whether it was busy or not due to the labor day weekend to which she responded to my wife and I (barely looking up) that maybe we'd be more comfortable waiting in the hall way... this struck us both as condescending, dismissive and rude and seemed very much like she was just trying to get us away from her rather than something to help us...quite passive aggressive! The lady that showed us to our seat tried to make light of the situation and was kind but that that initial interaction with the hostess gave us a bad initial impression. Luckily other than this the whole evening was very nice indeed. I think management should have a word with the Hostess though.

I have never been to Jeffery's before and I took my Fiance to dinner for her birthday and the service was good, but the steak was mediocre and I wouldn't go back again for the price vs quality.

As expected we had a great time at Jeffrey’s. The service was wonderful and atmosphere was nice. The caviar was my favorite as well as the bread. Of course their wine selections are amazing, but pricy.

Second time eating at Jeffrey's, experience was top-notch. Yes, the food and drinks are great as you'd expect at this caliber of steakhouse, but the service is the true standout. In a world where it seems like the pleasure of dining out has been diminished over the last few years for various reasons, it's refreshing to visit a place that ensures no detail of the customer experience is overlooked. Every member of the Jeffrey's team makes you feel like they are genuinely happy you're there that night, that you're comfortable, and that you will want for nothing as a guest. Welcoming attitude at front of house, escorting you from place to place (whether it's to the bar, to the table, to the restroom, and so on), waitstaff with full knowledge of anything on the menu along with tasteful recommendations that add value. Support staff is incredible, finding the perfect balance of somehow always being there at the right moment to fill your glass and keep the table clean/organized, but never feeling intrusive. Truly elite. If you're looking for a phenomenal fine dining experience, this should be at the top of your list in Austin.

Best restaurant experience period. First off the ambiance was fantastic, the care & attention of the staff was on point, and the food was incredible. The hostess noticed my girlfriend was cold and brought her a blanket right away. I believe our waitress was Serena; she as well as her support staff were so attentive and made the experience that much better! Thank you!!

Food was very good. Service is what feel short -felt very inauthentic and robotic. Their questions/conversation felt scripted, e.g. everybody who approached the table asked literally the same word-for-word, tone-for-tone question about our dessert choices. Was really turned off when one server reacted poorly regarding a takeaway request.

Enjoyed a wonderful meal for my husbands birthday. The service, cocktails, apps, meat and sides were all worth the hype. We went with a porterhouse with the garlic bulb (not to be missed) and garlic & rosemary butter. Not only did we get to savor every bite during dinner but we had enough left for the most divine steak & eggs in the am. We also couldn't stop talking about the cooked spinach with just the right amount of cream, citrus and spice. Overall highly recommend and did not disappoint.

The food here is absolutely amazing, but super pricey. The service is excellent. However, it’s seems like they are not sure who they want to be: while the decor, food, price, & service lends itself to a really romantic & special night out, the music is too loud, & not the right style in my opinion. One section of the restaurant offers a bar, & I think they want to be both the cool hangout & a romantic getaway. Newsflash—you can’t do both well. Just stick to what you know & stop trying to be the “cool hangout” place. Also, restrooms need more cleaning attention since they are unisex. Open Table states they do not offer Valet, but they certainly do, complimentary.
