After serving a decade in Dutchess, Westchester and Ulster County, owner Gyaljen Nuru Sherpa opened his own authentic Himalayan Restaurant that serves home style cooking with natural herbs from the Top of the World.

Food, service, and ambiance was outstanding. The waiters were nothing but kind and always there to make sure we needed anything as well as making sure all empty plates were off the table the second they were done. Loved the experience.

Second time going. First time was 5 stars for party of 2. Service was spot on. This visit was for 6. Decided to bring the family and service was attentive but riddled with mistakes and mishaps. We ordered drinks and appetizers and told the waiter we would wait to order main course after appetizers arrived. We received 1/2 the appetizers within minutes before drinks which took 20 minutes. Drink order was all wrong but they did their best to fix it as quickly as possible. After 40 minutes of sitting we didn't receive the second half of appetizers. Waiter forgot to place the order. Once we inquired he placed the order and it was out in 10 minutes. With all the confusion with the drink order and appetizers we finally go the waiter to settle down and order our mains. At this point the owner saw the disfunction and he was watching over our table making sure we got what we ordered. No issues at that point. Our waiter was a little confused but overall the meal was delicious and we were never rushed.

I have been to this restaurant about 5 times and each time the food, staff, and experience are top notch. The owner and the entire staff are focused on making sure everyone has a great time. Would not hesitate going again and again.

the food was absolutely delicious. it was spicy and fresh. We had never eaten Nepalese before and our waiter guided us through ordering so we were able to get a great overview of the cuisine. highly recommended. Can’t wait to go back.

Very pleasant surprise in the neighborhood. We are always on the lookout for dumplings of different types and origins, and their Momos are amazing! Extremely tasty and filling, and yet not heavy or overwhelming. Staff members are awesome, professional and friendly but never intrusive or out of place. Definitely our new favorite restaurant!

My husband loved the food, and he usually isn’t a big fan of curry dishes. The service was excellent, and the portions were generous. It’s going to be our go-to when we are craving Nepalese/Indian food. So good!

This was a nice surprise...the food was tasty and authentic...drinks were good too...the ambiance was nice....Tibetan music and scenery...very soothing (except the screaming 4 year old who finally left😀). Enjoyed all our food selections...wasn’t interested in the desserts though. Will definitely be going back.

Food was excellent, very happy with how everything tasted . Only issue we had was when we asked for a few orders to go , the waitress had it sent to the table on plates . we reminded them it was to go beforehand . She said in Nepalese to her coworker that “she told us it was too much food & that we were making them do extra work .” I guess she didn’t realize my wife spoke Nepalese . Made my wife kind of uncomfortable .

What a surprise on Central Park Avenue! From the second we walked in we were hooked..the aromas, the decor, the friendly staff...all terrific....our food was delightful and everything was so flavorful....drinks were good too. We will definitely be back!

My son took me here for my birthday lunch. So besides food and ambiance being top notch as usual, I was thoroughly surprised when staff approached with sparkler, gong and a gorgeous Tibetan scarf!! The sparkler candle was atop a delectable mango kulfi. I never order dessert-anywhere! That will now change at least in JOH!

My husband and I love the food !!! He enjoys Indian food however most restaurants cannot make their dishes mild enough for him. Himalaya prepares his meals with the perfect amount of spices. We always have a wonderful dining experience there.

This is our go to Indian style restaurant in lower Westchester. We’d been very unhappy with the selection of Indian restaurants in our area. The only good one we’d found was too expensive. Then we came across J of H. It’s really good. And even though it’s Himalayan rather than Indian, it’s pretty close very tasty food. Reasonably priced and the owner is a nice guy.
