   Living in the immediate area, we have seen multiple restaurants try this location. It is unfortunate that so many in the past have not made it. The menu appears to be overpriced, and will not be competitive with other locations on the North Shore. The wine list is predominantly European, and adding in a solid repertoire of BC wines both red and white would be helpful. A number of the offerings both food and wine are so outrageously priced, that I hardly see that as a selling feature. My suggestion, for the owners would be to take a look at Brown’s, cactus club, or even the keg and look at the wine list and menu offerings, and compare prices. Would love to see this location last, but they’re going to need to make some adjustments. Will not be a place we go regularly, which is unfortunate as it is very close to home.

   Lovely setting. We ate early to avoid the rush. Great cocktails ! Good portion size. Friendly service. We had the tuna quinoa and the seafood pasta. Both excellent. Calamari entree very good. No space for dessert. Not the cheapest but good quality.

   It was Father’s Day. They were extremely busy, but frankly don’t seem to have the systems and processes in place to efficiently handle orders and service. We waited for 1/2 an hour for our mimosas to arrive, then one of them was in the wrong juice; over an hour for our food, coffee finally arrived, but of course we waited another 10 minutes for the cream. We want them to succeed, snd will go again, but . . .

   Giving 5 stars across the board yet service could use some improvement—it’s a fairly new establishment. Everything and everyone was so great though, so I wholeheartedly recommend.

    The early gray- almond cocktail was amazing. Definitely our new favorite cocktail. It comes deconstructed so you pour the tea and oat milk to make the combo you like! If you enjoy an almond croissant- I highly recommend this cocktail! The truffled spaghetti and meatballs was another fav for us. Overall, great experience!

    Overall I thought it was overpriced and the food was very mediocre. The restaurant location was nice and the service was great though. Too bad the food wasn’t good.

    Because of the Lion’s Gate closure, I discovered JJ’s by accident. What a little gem! Clearly they need to tell West Van residents they exist. Not everyone drives past this area of Marine Drive. We enjoyed the ambiance, food and service. Unfortunately, the menu is in transition from winter to Spring so some menu items like beef Wellington were unavailable. Regardless our group of four enjoyed appetizers and mains. The hits were calamari, carpaccio, Mac & cheese balls. The salmon, steak, lamb and pasta were all beautifully prepared. We’ll be back.
