   This was the fanciest dining experience I have had! Our server Kent was knowledgeable and friendly! The piano player made for the perfect background for the perfect night! Highly reccomend the shared seafood option!

   Joe Fortes never disappoints whether in Vancouver or in Whistler, superb service and quality of food. Started with calamari and a selection of east coast and west coast oysters and then pork chop for dinner. Cooked to perfection, juicy and tender and delicious. My guest had the Artic char and salmon Wellington and they loved it. Finished with a latte and Pavlova. One of my favourite restaurants in Vancouver.

   First time there, we came in from the Fraser Valley for my wife’s birthday fora few days. They welcomed us with our reservation and wished her Happy Birthday. We stuck with seafood for apples as well as a salad, it was enough. They brought her a cream brûlée for her birthday which was an added bonus. We have been to many restaurants in North America but this one ranks up in our top five.

   Great happy hour. Oysters were great and lobster roll. Enjoyed the wine and friendly service too. Place and furniture probably need a bit of upgrade. Looking worn and very used. Decorating needs refreshing.

   Always love Joe Fortes. The service is outstanding and the food is amazing. Everything was perfect will be back. We had Oysters, Calamari, Crab Cakes, Chicken Chopped Salads. So delicious and huge portions.

   Servers all great! Food was superbly fresh! A bit expensive but it was my birthday so did not mind my girlfriend spending some money on me! But now bar is raised for her birthday coming up in July!

    My wife and I were fortunate to dine at several nice restaurants during our anniversary weekend trip to Vancouver, but our experience at Joe Fortes was less than ideal. The food was on par with what one would expect of a fine dining establishment, but the service was akin to what you would expect at Spaghetti Warehouse or Applebees. Our server was passive aggressively rude and seemingly focused on providing the worst experience he could possibly offer (i.e. not very attentive, bad attitude, did not share info on specials until prompted, could not speak to cocktails or wine selection, made us sign our receipt and did not do the same with others — we are a HNW family but the server was quite biased and lacked curiosity). The sad part is my wife and I changed our final night dinner reservations at the last minute to dine at Joe Fortes because we heard it was a the best in town. We left feeling quite disappointed and will never return or recommend it to others in our network.

    We all thought that they cramed the tables in to seat more people. Unfortunately there's no privacy. The noise level makes it very hard to hear each other. Food was very good.

    Table for six wasn’t in the best location; booth upstairs next to the bar looking at an empty banquet room.Didn’t seem like there were many options for a table of six. Food was good as was the service. Because of where we were seated the ambiance wasn’t the best.

    Hadn't been back for over 15 years. Nothing seems to have changed much, except for the food quality. The short ribs were lack-luster, dry and no flavour, like it had been boiled out. Pavlova dessert was probably the best thing I ate that night. Sadly, we will not be going back.

    Always enjoy a meal at Joe Fortes. It was lunch and I had the Cobb Salad. It could use a bit more blue cheese to make it sensational. Service was excellent. I will return for dinner soon. Thanks

    Dislike sitting right on top of other couples when there is plenty of room in the restaurant. It was hard for the waiter to fit between the tables when serving. Otherwise, the oysters were delicious.

    Lunch with my wife! Oysters, mussels, burger, beer, cocktails… Joe Fortes still shines after all these years! Fantastic experience. Surprisingly decent value considering how much it costs to dine at casual restaurants these days.

    It is not as great as the hype. "Not bad" would be my choice of words. i felt the certain ethnicity were being placed into the corner. 5 tables in a row were of same ethnicity. Coincidence? Maybe or maybe not.

    We came for brunch for my husband and mine birthdays. The server was attentive, food was awesome. We had steak and eggs and lobster Benny. Oysters, calamari to start and a bottle of wine at 3pm for happy hour ($25) we stayed 3 hours and had an amazing time. We got creme brûlée for our b day desert on the house. I can’t wait to go back. The best of a classic experience!
