Enjoyed a delicious cocktail in the bar before being seated upstairs. Our waiter was excellent! the mussel’s appetizer was the best we ever have had, amazing sauce. The halibut and seafood linguine was also extremely flavourful.

This was a special occasion dinner and dining at Joe Fortes was a very good choice. The beautiful wood and mirrors, the piano player, the attentive service and the excellent food. For main courses my wife had the halibut and loved it, myself the filet mignon and for starters clam chowder. The chowder was excellent in its consistency and melding of flavors. The au gratin potatoes were scrumpdilliumptious. Finished with the key lime pie and superb coffee( just black). I would not hesitate to recommend Joe Forte to anyone looking for a terrific and memorable dining experience.

Service was terrific. However, the happy hour menu has gotten smaller and food was mediocre at best. My friend and I were celebrating our birthday and end up going to Fanny Bay instead.

I always include a visit to Joe Fortes when I’m in Vancouver. I prefer to sit upstairs where it’s a bit quieter. The food is always outstanding, love the lobster oil. Staff is professional and very attentive, thank you Norm.

I came here to meet my boyfriend’s mom and younger brother for the first time, but the atmosphere, food, wine and the service were fantastic. Every staff who worked there was so nice, and I felt they did care about us very much. I will definitely be back.

The service is top notch here. I had some really amazing food and some really average food, so it depends on what you order. Therefore value is only good if you enjoy your meal. Piano player was a nice touch. Loud, but drowned out the drunk girls at the table across from us.

Great place to take a guest. Food is very good, we had lobster shrimp roll which was very tasty, even the sides were very good. Chowder was yummy too. Wish there was a little more sauce for the fired oysters. Service was excellent. Everything was great, just wish it wasn’t so expensive so we can come more often!

Thoroughly enjoyed our meal and overall experience at Joe Fortes. The freshest of fish and impeccable service made for a wonderful dining experience. The noise level is a bit off the charts as well, but makes for a fun ambience. Highly recommend this retro , old school dining experience.

The food was great and service was very good, albeit, a bit slow - but I think that is to be expected, as there were so many people dining the night we went. I could imagine the kitchen staff were slammed. But despite that, the food was delicious and of great quality. Our servers were friendly and polite.

Insanely noisy. Tables are way too close together. Food was very poorly cooked. Oysters served with inadequate sauces. And most of all…a mouse infestation. They were scurrying around the kitchen while we were eating

Delightful, delicious creative takes on fresh seafood Our waiter, David, was knowledgeable on all the food selections and suggested the perfect B C wines to accompany our meal. Started with fabulous oysters and amazing crab cake; steelhead and halibut perfectly cooked roasted potatoes and vegetables three ways-puréed carrots, tiny diced zucchini perfectly cooked to slight tooth and roasted beets. We had a Pavola for dessert - meringue with lemon curd, whipped cream and berries in three forms; fresh, stewed and puréed. I was thrilled at the contrasting textures and flavors, delicate yet intriguing. A wonderful evening!
