   As usual, the food and the service was amazing. The restaurant was very crowded but not too noisy. We enjoyed it very much although felt it was a bit overpriced.

   食物非常美味，服務員非常專業也非常友善，由於我們訂到的時間很晚，是晚上8:30，服務員看到我們帶了兩個小朋友，非常細心的問我們需不需要馬上先上餐前麵包讓小孩們先吃，在我們點完餐之後，也詢問了需不需要讓小孩的餐點先上，非常的貼心，用餐體驗非常好👍

   An outstanding dinner experience! Wade was extremely helpful and caring to everyone! Excellently cooked and seasoned food in generous portions and quantities. The grilling of the steak was spot on, nicely charred grilled flavour with a hint of smoked wood. The lobster oil/balsamic vinegar/sugar mix for the toast was so good! They actually sell bottles of their lobster oil which is packed full of flavours! I’m very glad they are kind enough to sell these merchandise because they definitely could have kept this totally in secret (I thought that’s their secret recipe so I was reluctant to ask them in the beginning). But hey! That’s how generous they are! Overall excellent experience. Definitely will come back!

    Felt slightly rushed by our server. Wanted a slower pace for the meal. I was wondering if the kitchen was about to close but then realized the restaurant was going to be open for 2.5 hours still. Food was great. Atmosphere was great. Oysters and cocktails were outstanding.

    Absolutely blew my expectations out of the water. I’ve been to expansive seafood and steak locations in LA, San Diego, Las Vegas and more. This place is hands down the best steak place and seafood entrees I’ve and my family have ever tried. 100% worth a visit. Highly recommend the seafood linguine and the bone-in ribeye.

    We chose Joe Fortes as my anniversary dinner with my husband and my kids. Once we were seated, they asked if we need any drinks. It was a cold night at -2 C outside so we ordered hot water first. When the server asked what did I want for my 7-year-old daughter, I said no need coz she has her own water bottle with filtered warm water. Then she said outside drink are not allowed in the restaurant. Once we heard about it, my husband asked what the problem was for a 7-year-old kid with her own water bottle. She said I can ask my manager to come over if you want to talk about it. When the manager (Ryan) came over, he said the government law stated that outside drinks are not allowed. I asked if I can bring my own milk to feed my baby. He said breastmilk is allowed. Then I asked about formula milk. Does it consider an outside drink? He said, “ I’m not going to waste my time talking about it with you”. Wow, we were so surprised by his rude response. We just couldn’t understand it. Why are they so mean about a kid’s Thermos water bottle? They definitely ruined our dinner night out during DOV. Besides, the server didn’t serve the complimentary bread until we asked for it. The server said the table didn't have space to serve that. …..What a ridiculous response. The DOV steak was okay, and the appetizer mussels and dessert cream brûlée also tasted normal. We will not go there again and it is not a kid-friendly restaurant. It is such a disappointing experience. My bill was $255 with tax. We ordered 1 DOV set dinner and other items are paid at regular price. FYI: Server number: 230 ( I forgot to look for her name coz I was so mad all the time) BTW, I got my reply from the Coastal health dept, they said the incident that I described does not involve the food service regulations as overseen by Vancouver Coastal Health.

    Restaurant is usually spot on. Was off on the last visit. Inattentive service and sub par food quality. Have been coming here for over 10 years and quality and service is sliding from where it once was.

    I and a couple of friends had an amazing brunch on Sunday. The service from beginning to end was perfect. They took our coats and led us to our booth. The brighter day mimosa was a delightful start, followed by the coffee cake - shared between the 3 of us was perfect! I had a short rib hash bowl with Brussels sprouts, peppers, tomatoes and broccoli that was savoury and so delicious, my friends had the chicken and waffles and the eggs Benny - it is Benny Bonanza time at Joe Fortes! The service was was so great and the chefs always create the perfect meals.

    Really great service by Danielle! Dined there for the Benny Bonanaza weekend brunch special & when it came out, I received the wrong order - no big deal & server quickly went to get my eggs benny fixed. When the correct dish was brought out, the eggs were poached to a medium, so no runny/ oozy yolks. I asked about this & was told their eggs are done to a medium…I’m pretty sure no one wants medium non -oozy eggs. Everyone wants to see the yolk cover the benny dish, so I was disappointed in that. I let the server know but chose not to get this dish replaced. I feel that if you do cook eggs to a medium, you should let the customer know or ask how you’d like your eggs done. Every other brunch place either asks or cooks them soft so you get the best fish possible.

    We tried the Dine Out menu and everything was really tasty. Portion was relatively large compared to other restaurant at similar price range. Their steak has perfect char and was so fullfilling. Their cream bruilee was so creamy and had a slight sea salt flavor that balanced out the sweetness perfectly. 10/10 I would come back in the future and recommend for friends and family as well

    We went here for the dine out Vancouver menu - we had only heard great things about Joe Fortes. Overall we found the steak mediocre at best, but the mussels and crème brûlée were definite winners. I would come back for happy hour and a pot of mussels, but I do not believe that the value is there for the main dishes (in particular the steak).

    I've been a patron since 1988. The menu is awesome and food has been consistently excellent. They didn't serve us bread at happy hour and I forgot to ask as I love, love, love the housemade lobster oil. Happy hour menu is quite good and the pavlova is delicious. I had two saw mill oysters. We had the calamari (very small portion compared to the last two times), giant prawn tempura, prawn tacos x 2 (had to have more), happy hour seafood tower and finished with the bone in rib eye (which I sent back as I had asked for a Chicago char and their understanding of that is different then mine). So they put it under the broiler to give it a better crust. It was served on delicious squash puree, bacon mashed potatoes and diced zucchini. Wish I lived closer. Chef's kiss. Norm was an excellent and personable server and all the staff were incredibly responsive. Norm kindly brought me extra squash puree to go as it was just divine. I'll be back sooner then later. Happy hour was $250 for 2 so I'll need a second job.

    Service was fantastic. Kevin recommended a fabulous BC wine that I fell in love with. The seafood linguine was amazing. I couldn’t believe the size of the shrimp not to mention all the clams and scallops. Well worth the cost.

    Everything our group ordered tasted sumptuous. Our hosts have great recommendations (i.e. calamari and Mediterranean appies to start and carrot cake and pavlova for dessert). We wouldn't have tasted how great the carrot cake was if it wasn't highly recommended. We're glad we tried it. It didn't disappoint. But our favourite was the pavlova. Our hosts also catered to the vegan restriction for one member of our group although no vegan dishes were on the menu. The vegan appy and dish prepared were just as sumptuous. We had a great lunch at Joe Fortes and are sure to come back. Thank you for making our experience memorable.

    Extremely busy and packed inside the restaurant. Not sure if it’s dine out that impacted on our experience. The staff were run off their feet and the food was not as good as usual. We made them mistake of trying the dine out menu. We should have stuck to our favourite seafood dishes. We will wait for dine out to be over before returning. Waitress really tried but she just had too many tables all at once.

    We were seated next to a large party celebrating a birthday. Staff did nothing to control the chaos and noise level. We asked to be moved but nothing was done about it despite empty tables available. Staff was so busy catering to the party, we were left neglected. After we paid the bill, spoke to someone who claimed to be a manager. He listened, said so sorry that happened and then walked away! Honestly one of the worst dinner experiences I’ve ever had. Almost comical.

    Service is outstanding , drinks are good , the appetizers are very delicious the entree was very under seasoned the mashed potatoes tasted like they were from a box , besides that very good in my opinion for a bill that high I would expect higher quality entree not something I can buy at the keg
